Idk what the craze is about this place, but IYKYK. We are finally getting one out here in Arizona, and it will open in Goodyear on June 22. Be that as it may, I won't be going until probably fall, lol. I'll most likely be making another trip to TX before then anyway. This location is large and fully stocked. The same classic Buc-cee's you know is full of everything from housewares to clothing, car accessories to freshly made brisket sandwiches ans everything in-between! Service was great, and the cashier was friendly. I didn't get a sandwich this time around, but I did grab a few bags of beef jerky. They're my new favorite snackie! Which Buc-cee's location will I visit next? Stay tuned!! Buc-cee's FTW!!!

Since I had to pass Buc-ee's to get to my destination I decided to see what could satisfy me for brunch. I chose the Texas Cheesesteak Burrito. It was DELICIOUS!!! I also grabbed a case of water because hydration is key and a bag of glazed cashews because I wanted to. lol The employees are so friendly. The store has so many items to choose from and of course enough gas pumps for everyone. I must stop at Buc-ee's at least once when in town.

Annie's from the outside looks like a decent place to make a pit stop. It's really a gas station with a steam table set up of some fast food. FYI this is Not real BBQ like you find at authentic BBQ places in Austin. The BBQ here is stewy like in sauce yet dries out quickly because of no proper covers on it. First off if you stop early they do have a hot fast food section of food like breakfast burritos and meats. I've been in there at 8:30 am and still wasn't impressed enough to purchase any of the breakfast food. It dries out real quick (no covers) and I don't like crusty looking food. By afternoon their food looks even more petrified. I think if you purchase something from that section it's best to get something as soon as the lady brings in a fresh pan of it. I'd rather go to the Sonic across the street for fresh fast food. Actually I've found most items higher priced over their competition south of them on hwy 105 on the east and west sides of the freeway. I got ticked off when I bought hostess marshmallow sno balls and they charged me $2.37 plus tax and I found them at Walmart for $1.00 no tax an hour later. Prices are noticeably higher on items I purchase all the time. Last visit....not impressed with anything! Yelp Review #320

I had been on the road for that long and just stopped in to stretch my legs, and get a soda. Since I'm already there, I decided to go ahead and re-fuel. You can imagine my shock to find a half-price gas pump still in service taking me back to OPEC in 1974. For those who remember the October 1973 OPEC fuel embargo, gas prices went soaring so fast the equipment we had couldn't be set for the days prices. In order to keep doing business, they set the pump price per one-half gallon, and the customer paid 2x what showed on the pump. It took a couple to three years for the manufacturers to make new pumps, or pricing mechanisms, and then for the retailers to install them. For a couple of years half-price gas pumps were a common sight, but by today obsolescence has eliminated them, and plenty of younger folk have never seen one. The owners of this place are what we expect to find in a back roads Texas general store. They were sitting out front on the benches visiting with the neighbors and the customers. They were SUPER nice and accommodating, and made me feel welcome while commiserating over the panic the oil embargo created. That whole fiasco was rooted in the USA mistreating other countries, and their assets, and we deserved what we got. If you happen to be raising animals, they had a wide selection of 50 lb bags of name-brand animal feeds next door. So typical of a Texas general store their stock reflects what the customer wants to buy, rather than the great computer in the sky deciding what's on store shelves. If you're in the area I can recommend this place, and if I'm in the area it's guaranteed I'll be back.
