This will possibly be the longest review testimonial you've ever encountered, but there is a method…read morein my madness. I invite you to read this more as a lengthy anecdote about everyday miracles achieved by doctors, in this case by Dr. Stephen McConnell, rather than just another review offering up a one-line and very banal platitude. The "miracle" is that before my initial appointment with Dr. McConnell on Nov. 7th I was essentially blind in my left eye. I could distinguish between lightness and darkness and could detect the faint outlines of close-up objects. For 2 1/2 years I simply accepted the fact I'd gone blind in my left eye for good. What had happened was that I awoke one day to find my left eye swollen shut and crimson from irritation. I couldn't immediately get a ride to an emergency health clinic, but after several days I visited one. A doctor saw me for less than a minute, pointing at my left eye declaring that I had an infection, for which she'd call in an Rx for an antibiotic. She never came within 5 feet of me and never examined my eye up close, as one might have expected her to do. And that was, after paying $172, pretty much that. Fast forward to Nov. 7th and my initial visit with Dr. McConnell. In less than 2 minutes, after examining all the photo images the staff had taken shortly after my arrival, Dr. MxConnell found a contact lens in my left eye which had fused to the cornea. He then immediately removed that contact lens with great care and delicacy and I felt nothing but relief. The doctor had miraculously saved my left eye and held out hope for the cornea to heal over time with eventual restoration of vision in my left eye. Need a solution to your most vexing of eye problems? See Dr. Stephenn McConnell!!!

As a member of a family that has lived in many areas of the U.S., I can state that she possesses all the best qualities that anyone could expect of a personal physician. I had my optometrist fax my prescription to the local WalMart. The optician was very helpful but unfortunately they did not carry my prescription. She suggested we check with Millican Eye Center directly across the street. I was a little discouraged and worried that I would spend our entire honeymoon either squinting or completely missing the sunsets and the ocean views. We walked in to Millican, I explained my situation and I handed the kind young lady my prescription. She said "Oh yes! We have these. I was overjoyed! She came out with the contacts and handed them to me. I was unbelievably grateful and asked how much we owed them. She said "Oh no charge. We had some samples in the back." I was blown away by the kindness shown by both these women. Thank you so much!!!

Practice billing could have filed a form as they are the only practice performing the surgery in a few hundred mile radius but they gave a lame excuse as to why they couldn't be bothered. So a couple thousand more out of my pocket on top of an already expensive procedure. That was the icing on the cake as the surgery was only partially successful. Follow-up care was lacking in that I returned several times over the recovery period and literally got no additional help and was just told to come back next month. Never saw the surgeon again only the PA. 9 months later a follow-up MRI listed my condition changed from severe to moderate so with pain meds I'm still barely functioning and still/back in PT a year afterward.

Making appointments was extremely frustrating, and painful and expensive tests were made for a procedure that didn't happen because they were unwilling to schedule it before my scheduled trip, even though they had 3 months' notice. So sorry I ever let them do anything to me. I could have saved a lot of money, frustration, and pain.
