I'd like to say for the record, I've never had my hair done here...I went here for a manicure…read more Unfortunately, what I got along WITH my manicure was a whole lotta attitude! What a shame, since this place is located conveniently in my neighborhood...
The first time I went to Nicole's, I saw the manicurist sitting there alone without a customer. So silly me, I assumed this meant she might appreciate a customer. I asked for a manicure, to which she responded by asking me if I had an appointment. I replied that no, I was walking in off the street.
She then looked me straight in the eye, glowered, and said, "You need appointment."
I apologized, asked when her next available opening was, and she told me to come back in 10 minutes. I came back, discovered she was still sitting alone, and sat down for my manicure. She didn't talk to me at all, other than to ask me in a bitter tone which nail polish I wanted, and did what I consider a mediocre job. My nails started chipping within 24 hrs, which is atypical for my nails when I actually have them done at a salon. Before she practically kicked me out, she said, "Next time you call for an appointment."
Now, I don't know about anyone else, but you'd THINK she'd want business when she has no one else in the chair. It made me wonder why on earth she was so resentful of getting some more business!
But no mind. I figured, this business is practically around the corner from where I live, and so it's convenient for me to go there. That's the ONLY reason I went back...
And I wish I hadn't. The same manicurist was again sitting there, without a client, and before I even asked her if she was available to do my nails, she recognized me and curtly accused me: "You have no appointment. I told you to call, make an appointment. I have no appointment available."
Wow. I've NEVER had this kind of impolite treatment from a nail salon before or since! Most places are happy to get some business, even the high end salons...and Nicole's is FAR from high end!
Since she'd made it clear my business wasn't wanted, I left, walked right across the street to City Cuts, and that's how I met Bo, who does a FABULOUS job with my nails, never gives me attitude, and if she's available, she'll take me! If she's not, that's cool too, but she's never rude to me, unlike the manicurist at Nicole's. Isn't this the way one is SUPPOSED to run a business??
Meanwhile, I will NEVER go to Nicole Beauty Lounge for any service again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. I hope that the owner reads this and instructs her employee, the manicurist to be more polite to customers in the future!
