If you have seen ANY other gastroenterologists in the past TWO YEARS, you need a permission slip from their office manager to even book a new patient appointment. This is an actual office policy. I have been waiting a week to hear back. So I suggest saving yourself the hassle and seeking treatment elsewhere. read more

Went to get my MRI read today by the PA never the doctor. The office staff would not allow me to go back and talk to my doctor before I filled out a payment plan. It has only been a month and a half since I was in the hospital not sure exactly what I owed them, but I know that my out-of-pocket expense has already been met. I tried to explain that I was not going to proceed with a payment plan right then and there in front of everyone in embarrassing not only that but I was supposed to be read my MRI results. They told me I would not get to see the doctor unless I got onto the payment plan never have I heard of such thing. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The staff is rude and unprofessional. read more

I was not happy with him after my colonoscopy last month because I had some problems. I had to go to the emergency room twice and I could not get in touch with this doctor. They do not answer the phones. I have an endoscopy tomorrow which is 417. I just told my doctor to cancel it because they're not answering the phone and I have questions. I refuse to deal with doctors that when you have a problem you cannot get in touch with them. Not even a voicemail. Nothing they do the surgery. They get their money then you're just a piece of dirt read more

Terrible awful, unprofessional. The staff is uneducated, clueless down the ARNP who saw me. Never saw the Dr. & was hit with a referral for a colonoscopy before I was even asked about my symptoms, medical history or medications I take. Do not seek medical care at this office. I have been analyzing medical records for over 30 years & this is not protocal. On my visit report, it indicated that the ARNP had completed a review of systems and an exam. Both were not done during my exam. Then I was told I could not do w colonoscopy & an EGD on the same day in order in order for the doctor to make more money on surgery fees, anesthesia fees, surgical center fees & other items that would be charged twice instead of once. This is billing fraud. Everyone I talked to including my other Drs. said both procedures can be done on the same day! read more

COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME....unless you want to be in dimly lit, overcrowded waiting room, with inexperienced office staff----all to see a doctor whose business card has his Gastroenterology practice listed under "Nutrition of Tampa Bay, LLC"....or something completely wacked as that. And his medical degree is from University of Baghdad / College of Medcine. I prefer Johns Hopkins...or Harvard... All kidding aside....I was 1st in the office for my visit; only to have 6 or 7 patients show up as I'm completing paperwork. Which PUT ME LAST IN LINE TO SEE THE DOCTOR according to the office staff and their protocol. Wow! Showed me how much my health mattered to them! And I wasn't getting to see this doctor; even this doctor is whose name is on the insurance referral!!!! Ah....for the love of Medicare money! Lol. And office is 40 miles out from me in far east Brandon. And his office brags about his hospital privileges at Tampa Gen'l. hospital....none of my doctors practice there. My insurance plan is with St Joseph's hospital....and all my specialists have privileges there. Just saying. I left after staff informed me of long wait and fact I disagreed with office policy for $45 cancellation charge for $10 co-pay. Finally.....I don't feel comfortable allowing this "doctor" to be in my throat and up my rooty poot checking me in and out! Again, at some out-of-the-way facility. So I'm relieved I won't be dealing with this doctor, this office staff, this practice. I'm much more inclined to book through "real" doctor's office like Florida Medical Clinic. READ THE REVIEWS---then save yourself a long wasted drive to Brandon. read more

The staff from my initial phone call to schedule an appointment were more than personable and accommodating. They worked with my schedule to find me the most convenient time and location. The office was a little hard to find even with GPS as located in small office complex with multiple other businesses. I drove up and down several small driveways before I found it but very large signage on office when I got in the right parking lot .Very pleasant waiting area with beautiful decor, nice easy listening music and aroma therapy. Waiting room a little cold and staff even wearing sweaters. I was taken in to exam room right on time and seen by a student nurse practitioner. History taking was very efficient. MD was prompt and everyone explained items very well. Scheduling tests was a breeze as the person at the desk had already checked my insurance and knew if a pre-authorization was required or not. The procedure can be done at one of 3 sites so they worked again with my schedule to find the most accommodating date and location. Just my first encounter but so far pretty impressed. read more

Terrible office procedures. Dr cancelled intial colonoscopy at last minute after I had made arrangements to be off work. They lost my follow up appointment, expecting me to take off work another day for wholly unnecessary (except to his profit) follow up appointment. Claimed $50 copay then used wrong billing code so procedure that even insurance rep said should be covered with no copay is being billed to me for $1,650. I even got the correct billing code from insurance but Doctor and Tampa General refuse to discuss the matter or correct their mistake. To be clear: I explained exact procedure to insurance rep, they checked policy and conditions (my age, in network dr and facility, no prior procedures) and confirmed that with correct code they would have paid for procedure with no copayment from me. read more

If you value your life or your loved ones DON'T GO TO THIS OFFICE. My husband had a basic imaging procedure on his stomach on a Friday. By Friday night he began feeling sick so I called them on Saturday. After going back and fourth letting them know he was experiencing complications over a couple of days they left him for nearly a week without following up when I kept calling to let them know this was serious. My husband had to go to his primary care doctor and the emergency room to get help because nothing was being done other than a prescription over the phone for gaviscon and some anti nausea meds. Additionally, after the procedure I never saw the doctor and to this day I still don't know the results of his imaging procedure. They waited a WEEK before asking to follow up knowing all this was going on. I ended up taking him to an emergency room where they were able to make him feel better WITHIN THE HOUR. He spent five days unable to hold food and liquids down and this office did NOTHING because they didn't care. I wouldn't trust this office with anything serious because in good faith I don't know if they would take proper after care of their patients. The ER doctor and Primary care doctor were both shocked that this office was aware that my husband had been vomiting since the day after his procedure when he was perfectly healthy before but Dr. Nakshabendi didn't ask to follow up. Beware and Stay away from this office. Dr. Nakshabendi and his staff were grossly negligent with my husbands health and wrote us off multiple times so I hope I can spare someone else a week of stress. Edited to add for full disclosure: they are justifying their reasoning for letting my husband vomit for a week straight because he had a sip of alcohol on accident and some spaghetti on Friday and I made the doctor aware that both were in small quantity and should not cause A WEEK OF VOMITTING WITH NO ACTION OR ATTEMPTING TO CHECK ON HIM. We were so angry at the way they have been responding to us that we will no longer go to this office so we left his office because the EMERGENCY ROOM DID HIS JOB FOR HIM. We were ten minutes late because we went to the wrong plaza I walked in and checked him in and disclosed that we were behind and received an annoyed "ok" when my husband walks in they tell him they were going to reschedule him because he walked in after me and it was an appointment for my husband so it didn't count that I signed him in so he was 15 minutes late. She didn't bother to tell me this while I'm standing there she chose to wait until my husband had to come in to tell us. We followed EVERYTHING they were asking of us- we are human and so because he made a small error they wrote him off until he was in serious condition and had to be rushed to a hospital. Nice. Don't be a doctor if you don't want to deal with people. They only made the consultation because I called them to tell them we took him to the hospital. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE read more

Absolutely worst Dr. ... consistently and always behind and their scheduling office double books and it's only about the money for this dr. Worst reception you could imagine condescending and rude. I can't stress enough what an awful dr this is and an unorganized office. read more

A family member had a procedure performed by this doctor and became seriously ill. When we called for an emergency appointment, we were told to wait a week. Furthermore the office manager advised for billing purposes they can not bill ( hence no appointment) until two weeks have elapsed since surgery. Really? What type of doctors office refuses to see a patient with complications from surgery? read more

Wife was scheduled for a colonoscopy on a Monday. Around 12:30am Sunday night she nearly fainted and became very weak. Her blood pressure dropped down to 64/48. Very dangerous. So I called the service to have Dr Nakshabendi call me to see if there was something I can do so she can keep the appointment. He never called me back. I had no choice but to start giving her fluids and cancel the appointment. This guy spent 5 minutes with us and told my wife she needs a colonoscopy for constipation, hemorrhoids and possible anal fissure. I had the same problem years ago and didn't have a colonoscopy.... which makes me think he's in it for the insurance money. I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy two weeks prior with this same Dr. But I'm not going back to him to get the results. He doesn't care about his patients at all. My wife and I both spent more time with his nurse than we did with him. He asked us a few questions, pushed on our bellies and asked if it hurt. Then told us we needed colonoscopies? I did need one but I don't think my wife did. If you scheduled with him please cancel and find another Dr. Totally unacceptable service/practice. read more

So far my impression is "HORRIBLE" & I have not yet seen the Dr. The receptionist (bless her soul) is tasked w/asking patients for all of their personal information verbally & entering information on e-form. The waiting room is completely packed w/some stating they have been waiting an 1.5 hrs...so far I have been here 1 HR...the 1st 15 min. was spent standing in line @ the counter while the patient in front of me was providing her personal info. for all to hear...SMH... read more

Horribly run office and I never even got to see the doctor, only the nurse practitioner and yet they still had the nerve to charge me for my $50 specialty co-pay. never heard back from them again. read more

I should have read the reviews before going to this office. It was recommended by my primary care physician. I should know better. The office visit was somewhat like a substandard place--- all they care about is getting the money in. There is no professionalism in the staff... The office (or I should say a corner desk in a room... no privacy, people talking loud, flirting, laughing... I never got to see the doctor till the day of procedure in the room. Maybe a minute or so before procedure starts.. Several days prior to the procedure, the office kept calling me and asking me to pay upfront regardless the insurance coverage. I totally regretted what I have chosen. read more

I regret every picking this place to do anything. I have all the same issues and concerns I had before and they are still sending bills the the prices just keep going up. They told me it was 50 dollars on my day I visited and are sending me chargers for over $100 more and that's just for one visit. They make you wait 25 minutes for a 5 minute visit and they send you to someone else to get things checked and then charge you out the ass. They don't care about customers, yes customers because we aren't patients to them. This place is no help and I'm not sure they even have real doctors working there. read more

Waste of time and money. Primary dr referred me to this dr, never saw the dr only his assistant nurse, she never examined the problem area. Gave me antibiotics that never helped the issue. Went back same person still never did an exam... Months later still having issues. This office was of zero help, no point in going here at all. read more

Not sure what the doctor is like because I cancelled my appointment after dealing with the receptionist by the name of Tracey. Found Tracey to be rude and condescending. Customer services sets the tone and this tone was so off for me I cancelled. read more

His officer staff from my first phone call to scheduling my appointment to all the nurses & Doctors were all helpful & very courteous. Had no problems finding office google maps helped and being in a plaza next to the Post Office was a good choice to find his office. On the day of my appointment I was treated very respectfully and a nurse took all my information and I saw Dr Karim who went over my long history. We set up an appointment for an GED. No problems with anything would and have recommended him to some co-workers. The office staff went above & beyond to make sure that everything that needed to be done from old records getting to them was done to make it easier on me. read more

I have just relocated from Texas and I'm going on my 5th gastroenterologist. My experience with this practice was very pleasant. The staff were very polite. The medical assistants truly spent time with me and made sure to obtain a full medical history. Dr. Nakshabendi was very thorough, spent a good amount of time with me and actually showed empathy. I highly recommend this practice for any GI concern that you may have. read more

I made an appointment with this doctor and the person I ended up seeing was a nutritionist. You can't pass a nutritionist off as a doctor, or even a nurse. This is fraud. If you need tests you will have to wait 2 months to schedule them. Stay far away from this place, so overbooked they will have family members seeing you pretending they are qualified to do so. read more

Very disturbing going to this doctor. I took my 88 year old dad there a few weeks ago because his primary doctor suspected a lesion on his liver. Dr Nakshabendi looked at his CT Scan and said he needed to have a liver biopsy. I scheduled appointment a week prior to today giving the hospital plenty of time to get results to him. We drove 45 minutes each way, paid the $30 co-pay only to have his nurse tell us he was not there - that he was out doing scoping and other stuff and then she told us my dad had a rare tumor on his liver and we needed to go see an oncologist. The receptionist could have called us with that information and saved us a trip and $30. But I guess he is a money grubbing doctor who plays this Medicare game. She couldn't answer any of our questions, so now we go back to his primary to see if we can get some answers/information. My poor dad doesn't know if he has a week to live or several years. I cannot believe that this doctor is so incompetent that he lets a nurse give this kind of information. I do not recommend this doctor. He does NOT care for his patients. He is definately a butt-hole doctor. read more

I would like to thank Dr Imad Nakshabeni for leaving my side on 12-14-17 at the Brandon Healthplex after completing my EGD when I went into A-Fib for 30 minutes on the table.I then received a poor response from the nurses who were running around the room in panic, till I requested my wife to be brought into the surgery room. The nurse on my right side then told her to call 911 on her cell phone.Very poor judgement on their part when I'm right above the emergency room and a minute away.I was then shoved into the bathroom and told to get dressed. After which my wife and I went to the ER.The Doctor should have remained by my side and should have taken care of me the whole time, his patient.I could have died from the drug, propofol, like many others on the operating table. What would have happened based on the actions not taken by the Doctor, the anesthesiologist and several nurses of TGH Healthplex.I will be contacting the Florida Board Of Medicine And Agency Of Health Care Administration along with Administration Director at the surgery center at the Brandon Healthplex. read more
