Brynn takes her work very seriously and I love her for that, she sticks to the rules, and all equipment is sterilised, I didn't feel any pain and there was no redness. There was no-one trying to "upsell" me their products, just lovely staff who care about their customers and make the experience a good one, I would thoroughly recommend Industrial Strength to anyone thinking of getting a piercing or a tattoo.

As I entered the store with my wife in tow, she gets excited with all the assorted piercing accessories for various parts of the body. She insists on getting a nose ring today, mentioning it'll be her fourth attempt to keep it in. Apart from piercing, plugs and dermal jewellery, they also offer rings, necklaces and punk and rockabilly style clothing which are right at the very back of the store. A young lady who was one of the folks outside smoking came back inside and was friendly enough to ask us if we needed any help. My wife asks about nose piercings and we are shown a range of studs and rings. She wants a ring. "Cool", the lady replied and did a quick measure to see which size ring would suit my wife's nose best. Next she gave my wife a questionnaire form to fill out, which is standard when getting a piercing done. Payment was done first, $60 for the steel ring and the piercing. The lady mentions the guy next to her that's talking on the phone would be the piercer and that it would be done upstairs where the Tattoo parlour that's attached to store was. So we head on up and wait. And wait. It was about 20-30mins before the guy shows up. He gives a short apology before giving instructions on the procedure. All the piercing instruments are sterile and you get the feeling this guy really knows what he's doing. When my wife came out, she said it all went ok except the fact the guy wasn't as friendly as the lady downstairs. All in all, the guys here know their stuff, so if you can handle a bit of pain and a little attitude you know where to head to.

I scheduled for a consultation with an artist and sat down to chat, and he didn't speak English too well, but I spoke his language so it all worked out! I really wanted to see the design before getting it tattooed, and the staff told me that it is not common practice to do that since artists work maybe the night or a few nights before on the design. Also probably because they didn't want me to run off with the design, but I pressed and they agreed to have me come in to take a look! Love that they understood my situation! They quoted me for 1.5 hours, and it took a little longer and took 2 hours. I got a small one done between my boobs. A small issue that I had - and maybe this is the tattoo virgin in me speaking - is that there are a lot of artists and clients around in the studio. Upstairs in the loft area, there were at least three beds in the area I was in. I thought I might be getting a tad bit more privacy, but I didn't. Since I was getting the tattoo done on my chest, I had to remove my shirt and bra of course. I wore pasties, but I still did feel a bit exposed in front of other like six people sitting or lying around lol

But Haley, who helped me out through everything, was super friendly and made me feel safe through the booking process. I got my tattoo done by Haku who was also super friendly and easy going. He made me feel comfortable and we ended up talking the entire time. I never felt out of place. The price was very reasonable and I loved the quality of my tattoo! I'm so glad I was able to do this and would definitely recommend this place.

I was originally going to go to another place down the street but I had a change of plans and that one was closed on that day (Monday) and while I was already in the city I decided to just go ahead and got my tattoo. I called this place last minute as a walk-in and the lady at the front was super nice and accommodating. I studied abroad in Sydney for four months and I wanted to get a tattoo commemorating my time in Australia before I left back to the US later that week. And I LOVE my small single line kangaroo. This place is HARD to find and actually within an apartment building so you have to buzz in first once you find the door located street side in between shops and restaurants. The building had such a great vibe with graffiti EVERYWHERE and once you get to the fifth floor where the shop is located there's a beautiful outdoor section with a walkway and more graffitied walls. It's an incredible find. Can't remember the name of the guy who tattooed me, but it was a quick and simple tattoo sesh!

Sorry I'm not covered in tattoos, but that didn't mean she can be condescending, and roll her eyes at me. Also, sorry, but glad wrap is NOT dressing. Gauze is dressing. Would you go in for surgery and have glad wrap put on your stitches? No. So, when I say oh, I've just got glad wrap on it, there's really no need to roll your eyes. Anyhoo, mini rant. Maybe she was just having a bad day, and honestly if I were going to get any more tattoos, I'd go back there. I wouldn't trust any other shop to touch me.
