The staff at this smoke shop is fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They make you feel welcome and take the time to answer questions. However, the owner or store manager is the complete opposite. He is incredibly rude and unwelcoming, creating a hostile atmosphere that makes you feel like the motto is "buy and get the hell out." It's unfortunate because the workers clearly put effort into making this a good place to shop, but the behavior of the owner/manager completely ruins the experience. Either they took out the warranty card or sold me fake products. I bought a Smok 219 kit for $99 Online, it's 59.99 official website. I know it's $30 more expensive than online, but it's fine cause it's for my convenience to get it quick and I don't have lots of free time. Turns out that it's an open product. I didn't really care cause everything is in there and seems to be unused. Check the setting it was puffed 7 times. Who cares i guess. And now, it's time to check warranty. But there's no warranty to be found. I checked it online and tried to verify it and look what it told me. FAKE PRODUCT. Will try to get a hold of this shop when I get the time off. Wow. Talk about the worst service possible. I went in to replace my uwell caliburn pods. I bought the device from here. They still have the devices for sale but they dont sell just the pods. So I compromised and tried to by a pod for my smok novo 3. Literally showed the guy which device it was and he still sold me the wrong pods. 2 pods for 15$?? I call in advance to ask how much refill cartridges are for my vape. He says $8. The cartridges come in a pack of 2. When I get there he literally opens the pack and gives me one cartridge that he's put his hands all over. Purchased something from here and it fell apart about a month later. As I had spent over $100 on the item, I reached out to the store to see if there was any possible way to resolve the issue I faced. When I had attempted this, the person on the phone basically made it seem like it's not their problem, and that they won't guarantee anything. I wasn't looking for a guarantee, just a quality product that won't fall apart and become not usable after washing it safely. My dishes don't fall apart, so why should something I've barely owned have the bottom just fall out? Anyway, i recommend buying from anywhere else. If you have time in advance, I recommend purchasing from DHGate, AliExpress. You'd probably get the same (or even better) quality item for 1/3 the price (with a ton more buyer protection). I went in on the weekend, looking for a coil for my vape. The man working that day was a shorter man, mid aged with an accent. I called ahead and asked if they carried the product I'm after, as the coil I needed was kind of niche. The employee claimed they had it, and multiple different kinds of the same coil as well. I drive down there, and then ask for said coils. The man sells me one, confident that it's the one that fits. Once I purchase it, I look closer and the threads on the coil are wrong. I take it back in, and politely explain that it's not the right one but I didn't open it at all, and can exchange the purchased one out. He offered me a refund surprisingly, but was becoming more and more aggressive towards me trying to prove he's right, when my vape quite literally says the coil type on it, and his wasn't it. It nearly turns into a shouting match on his end, because for whatever reason he was really convinced to his cause. Eventually to shut him up, I just purchased a new atomizer to move on with my day. Even then, reading past reviews, I'm suspicious that this atomizer could be a counterfeit. Avoid the store at all costs, from the sounds of other reviewers they knowingly push counterfeit products, and try to inflame fights with customers. If I could vote zero stars, I would. When asked if they still sold puff bars the older man rudely asked for my ID and continued to harass me saying I wasn't a customer there when I have been going here for months last year. 3 minutes later a young lady walks out and continues to tell him that we haven't been there in awhile so we are not considered customers then he continues to state "is this even you on your ID" and as I continued to say yes I have been here multiple times he then says "NO WE DONT HAVE". Wish he or the old staff was there all the time.......and there's the other new guy. He's taller older always smoking his Flum float not giving a fudge! This place is my local smoke shop, it's also one of the largest smoke shops I have ever been too. They carry a great selection of "tobacco glassware". In fact, I recently purchased my first water "tobacco" pipe. That's right folks....I bought a water pipe to smoke "tobacco" from for the first time. Don't judge. Moving on. In addition to "tobacco" pipes and accessories, they carry a selection of hookah and shisha. While I don't own a hookah, or know much about it, it seems like they carry a decent selection. They even have one that was taller than me! One time, my navel piercing came our and I purchased a ball here to save it. That was all years ago, but I clearly remember the service I received here so when I moved nearby I was excited to have a shop close to home for all my smoking needs. Of course, being a smoke shop they have cigarettes, cigars, Swishers naturally, and various brands of rolling papers. They are also "with the times" so to speak and have plenty of vapor supplies as well. I fill up on that here as well. Parking is plentiful, and unlike most smoke shops, this place doesn't FEEL shady. Maybe it's because the neighborhood itself isn't bad either, but the fact I feel safe here makes it so much better. read more

Tried going in to buy a hookah as a gift. The kid who helped me admitted to not knowing anything about hookahs and that it was "the owners thing." I decided to continue trying to buy one and even though I kept mentioning I wanted one that got 2 hoses he kept showing one hose ones that didn't have adapters for a 2nd one. Finally I decided on a large one that had one hose but a place on the stem for 2. (I don't know a lot about hookah terminology, I was looking online for how to tell if you've found a good one while shopping). It had a cover over the 2nd spot and he put a valve on it. He also told me it would be 100 dollars. Next he said it's supposed to come with a box. He looked and said well I'll just put it in any box that won't matter, and he stuffed it in a box that didn't fit it and even threw out the tissue paper inside the box instead of wrapping things up. Looking like it'll break just getting it home he brings me to the register and tells me it'll be 110. Confused I ask as he said 100 and he explained well you got both parts (the one that closes off the 2nd valve and the adapter). As he told me 100 and it didn't even come with a 2nd hose I told him I don't understand the price difference all the sudden as he specifically pointed out 100 multiple times. Needless to say I walked out instead of getting taken advantage of. I'd rather find a place where someone is honest and knowledgable. read more

As a hookah enthusiast, this place is a local paradise. It's incredibly hard to find a decent selection of hookah tobacco in Sacramento, most places only carry Starbuzz and Fantasia which downright sucks. Illusion plays a different ball game. They carry Fumari, Al Fakher and Tangiers. Now I have looked all over the place to find Tangiers and Illusion is the only place in the surrounding area that carries it. They have a huge selection of flavors as well. Not only do they carry the best brands of hookah tobacco but the products are amazingly priced. They also carry a wide selection of natural hookah coals. The two gentlemen that work there are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are knowledgable when it comes to hookah which is a breathe of fresh air. This will definitely become my go to spot to buy hookah goods locally when I don't feel like ordering online. Good on ya, mates! read more

Been here three times so far. During my first visit here, they didn't have what I was looking for. They told me they don't sell it here, so I tried looking someplace else. Second visit, surprisingly they had what I was looking for miracle or what. My third visit had nothing to do with their products lol but I needed $20 in quarters. I called so many stores in the area to see if they're willing to swap $20 in quarters for a $20 bill. I kept hearing "no we don't do that", "we can't open registers without making a transaction", "you have to come in & ask the manager (why can't you just get the manager on the phone so I don't waste my time if he/she says no?)" etc. So I called Illusion & they said yes come stop by! They had a giant box of quarters. Everyone there was so nice. Got my quarters & before I left they told me if I ever need quarters again just stop by. I arrived at Illusions this morning at 10 am when they say that they open. It wasn't open. I proceeded to wait 20 mins and still no one there to open or help. Called a little later to ask why this occurred and the employee said he woke up late but "We're open now." This is absolutely ridiculous. I wasted my time and gas to go purchase something for a loved one there and there was no one in sight, yet they say they open at 10 am every day. Usually I love Illusions. I've been coming to illusions as well as the other smoke shops in Elk Grove for years. I am not a Yelp reviewer I feel the need to let it be known that this definitely the worst shop in the city. About 3 years ago I walked in with intent to buy a really nice bong and they treated me really well. I ended up purchasing one of their best pieces and it is still my bong of choice today. They have nice quality glass and hookah's. However it's not like they forged that glass themselves. Every other aspect of this place is shady and unbearable. If your coming here to buy something small, goodluck. All of their disposable vapes are 100% fake. The last time I tried to buy one I verified it right there in the store with the code on the back on the box. It came up as counterfeit. The guy immediately changed his attitude and said all of his vapes wouldn't verify. That it's not his fault it's his suppliers. He refused to give me a different one and told me to leave the store. However Im not an idiot and I understand how business's works and these guys choose their suppliers for their products. For a long time they have been knowingly buying fake disposables, probably for cheaper then the real ones and selling them for the real prices to unsuspecting customers. This is bad business. My friends and I have suspected illusions of selling fake products for a while. As disposable vapes that come from there last 1/4 as long from other places and taste nothing like the flavor on the box. My friend confronted them once as well. They told him that every puff from everywhere would not verify. We all now go to cigarette circle on Bruceville. Every puff I buy from there verifies and ive never gone back to illusions, because there full of it. If your not buying a big ticket item they will not treat you with respect and they will scam you with fake products and shady practices. read more

They're selling pipes that are cracked and/or have been on their shelf for over a year. Very generic machine made pieces, and this shop doesn't regularly support local glassblowers. If you decide to purchance a piece there, then i suggest taking a careful look at it, as they put cracked pipes that have been pointed out right back on the shelf.
