Iv been going to liquid since it opened and have never seen it in such a state as last night. The night out hadn't been terribly great up until the point that we went to the club in the first place but when we got there it was just the icing on the cake. Apart from the club being packed, the bars were in my opinion under staffed. The people in there were not the kind of people out to have a good night but instead seemed to just be out to cause trouble. After being offered to buy drugs (!!!!!!!!) I told a member of staff who either didn't know what to do or didn't care. I later spoke to the so called "bar superviser" who told me that it wasn't her job! And when I asked who's job it was she again didn't seem to know or care either and made no offer to fetch a manager or even anyone who could of had any interest. All in all I would not recommend liquid or Mansfield in general for a night out to anyone! Ever!! Oh, unless of course you belong on the Jeremy Kyle show!!!

Gullivers Nightclub, known as Gullies is an alternate venue. The doormen do turn away folk they…read moredon't think will fit in. Opens around 10pm till 3am but most people go after the pubs shut. Mostly DJ's but occasionally live music and Rock Nights with bands. The dance floor is not huge and usually packed. It bounces too especially when groups of Goths in New Rocks are jumping around. This is the third floor too. Not designed for the disabled as lots of steep stairs to the free cloakroom and ticket office. Loud, friendly and jumping this is an established place having been there around 25 years or more and just as popular now as it always was. Drinks and cocktails are reasonably priced. Plenty of room to circulate if you are good at pushing. The long bar can involve a wait or misheard orders but not much of a problem. One corner used to be called Goth Corner as it was where they all congregated but now the students seem to have discovered it too. You can often find a seat there or else you will stand. Once upon a time you always stuck to the bar floor but they seem to have solved that problem. A shame as it was famous for it. A good night out but your ears will ring for hours.

My suggestion was actually a hit. I did my indecisive alterego very proud. There are many quality club nights organised by the Lost and Found name and this was no exception. Dance off, being £1 entry, sold it for me. Doubles for £3, a range of sambucas £1.50? Messy. Dance off saw a battle between three major DJs, strangerways, good vibrations and juicy DJs playing a mix of Joy Division, The Temptations and Dr Dre. Amazing combination. Ruby Lounge is renown for it's quality club nights and live music. The venue is perfect, with an adequate dance floor, a stage to match and plenty of seating on a slightly raised level for a chill out. Another great Northern Quarter location that needs to become a regular thing for me.

The gig was billed as The Cribs Aftershow but it was basically just a gig- most of the spectators were either in one of the four bands, looked like they should be or were girl groupies who were way too impressed with themselves that they were getting backstage. The sofas and high backed armchairs in the main bar area were nice touches, there were a few mirror balls around too. Plus velvet curtains - hello, strip club? Then you turn to the grimy stage area with the big grill up between the bands and the crowd. That said, no one went past the pillar anyway. Too cool to stand right at the front. Alright drinks prices - get some of their cheap vodka mixers or flavoured sambucas otherwise you'll run out of money quickly. After the bands they had Gareth Brooks from Xfm DJIng but we didn't end up staying.

Was delighted by the fun and friendly atmosphere in here and we really enjoyed ourselves. This place is really electric and everyone was having a great night. I've been going to Resistanz festival every year for the last four, and if I'm in Sheffield for any other reason I inevitably wind up there. Every time, and I do mean every time, I see my friends get obliterated, hook up, and dance like maniacs. There is some strange bayou magic to its foetid bathrooms. Yes, you may lose your kicks, but beyond a shadow of a doubt, the price is worth paying. Incredible bands, fantastic DJs, a friendly clientele, and my favourite accent in all of Yorkshire combined with some of the best alternative music going and cheap drinks. If you're in your stompiest boots (and you should be), what's not to like?

I kinda have to be honest and review it as a facility rather than the quality of the individual nights I've had here.... I will explain.. Firstly I should mention I don't live in Sheffield and have probably been to Corp in the region of 8 to 10 times. Some of those were for gigs, some for club nights and three times for Resistanz festival. It's relatively easy to find in the depths of Sheffield (situated about 5 minutes from The Moor) and puts on a plethora of gigs and events throughout the year. I actually really like the exterior. It gives the feeling of a dirty warehouse club and is spot on for what you'll find inside. There are tables outside which come in very useful if you're at a gig (and the courtyard isn't open). You can't take your drinks outside the venue, but this is perfectly fair (as there are plenty of places to stash on the inside of the door). This particular time around, the smell of vomit really hit me as I went in through the dingy corridor. In fact, I had to go straight outside again so as not to be sick myself. I understand that with the cheap drinks prices and the clientele it tends to attract on certain nights that people probably do drink to excess, it's just never been as bad as any other venue I've ever been to (and that includes Snobs in Birmingham!). Once you get used to the smell, you can hit the bar. On a club night the drinks are ludicrously cheap (70p a single vodka and coke)... That is, if you can call it Vodka. I steered clear on my last visit and stuck to the £1.50 cans of Cider (which my body seemed to thank me for). There are 3 rooms inside (side room, main room and upstairs) and each comes with it's own bar. There is also a separate club area (called Local Authority) attached to the venue and a very large courtyard. Now... If you're a visitor to this venue, you know I HAVE to mention the state of the toilets. They should come with a health warning, seriously. If you have a toilet seat, a lockable door, toilet roll AND handwash; you are in the minority. Normally you might get a max of two of these essential elements. On a side note, Local Authority seems to actually have half decent toilet areas so the venue really needs to pull it's socks up on this. The sound can be quite hit and miss for live acts. It's been excellent for some gigs and terribly poor for others. It can really depend on the sound tech's whether you get an enjoyable aural experience. However... I guess sometimes it just doesn't matter. When you've had enough 70p vodkas on a club night, you probably wouldn't notice. Another quick warning; watch your drink! Everyone should always be wary in clubs, but I've seen spiking quite prominent on some nights at this venue. The security are actually pretty good and seem to keep an eye on everything, but I guess that says more about the clientele that use this venue on selected nights. Oh! And make sure you take enough cash out with you! There is a cash machine in the venue, but it was charging £2 for withdrawals last weekend (which could really hit you if you're on a budget). Finally, no goffick's life would be complete without at least one trip to Corp. I have always had a great time here (despite the toilets and the smell), but that's largely down to the nights I frequent. Don't let this review put you off visiting as the atmosphere can be electric (and worth suffering all the other stuff). Go, visit, enjoy and write your own review.

It is spread over three floors and has many different rooms all playing various sorts of music that suit all tastes. Last year they had a very good female artist playing guitar and singing then in the next room it was 80's Old Skool!! The staff are very helpful and door staff friendly, I have rarely seen any trouble or 'incidents' at Sugar Mill, the people that go in there are generally over 21 and just want to have a good night.
