They came the next day within the time window given. Two rather polite men showed up, verified what we wanted, got to work. They were not only professional and conscientious as they worked, they threw in a few added items needed (new outlets and plates) at no extra cost. They tested their work, I happily paid, and they were off. We'll definitely hire them again as need be. Highly recommended!

Edgar determined which fixtures were defective and which ones were not and how best to proceed. I had 6 light fixtures replaced, 1 new light fixture added, 1 outlet installed, 3 outlets repaired or improved. Since we were new to this house, it was important to make sure the electrical work was done to code and repaired, as needed, and Edgar did an outstanding job! I expect that I will have more work to be done in the Spring and will not hesitate to call EIM. I have attached some before and after pics.

This is a very good electrical supply store. Two things really make this place stand out: first,…read morethe staff is very helpful and not bothered by a small order, and two the store is available for retail customers. There are many electrical suppliers out there, but most only work wholesale with contractors ... which leaves us do-it-yourself/retail customers shut out. We can't buy 100 of each thing we need, and sometimes we need something special. I was fixing the piezo-electric starter on a stove unit, and easily found the problem ... a wire had pulled out of the disconnect. Now you can go to one of the big-box stores (Home Depot, Menards, Lowes) to find a disconnect, but they really cater to the middle of the road products, not the specialty stuff. I got some disconnects there, but they were too wide (see picture) ... I needed a mini-disconnect. After calling around to a number of places and finding they really only dealt with wholesale/contractor business, I found Helsel-Jepperson (HJ) out in Chicago Heights on Halsted. I brought my too-wide disconnect in and said I needed a narrower one - unlike the big-box stores that had only one size, HJ had two in stock that were narrower. So long story short, if you have an electrical part need and cannot find it at the big-box stores, HJ should be your next call. My part only cost 34 cents, but they didn't act like I was a bother. I bought ten so I don't have to return, and was really impressed with the staff and service. Highly recommended.
