We were visiting Livorno and came here to check out this popular central market place. It's got…read moremany vendors selling baked goods, meats, seafood, cured meats, cheeses, and some other items. They have food vendors inside as well. The entire place is interesting and clearly been around a long time. It was about 2/3 populated with vendors, so there were plenty of empty spaces. Overall, it's one of the very few things to see/do in Livorno. There isn't a lot going on in this town otherwise.

The shop is a farmer's market featuring mostly local produce, meats, cheese, wine from local producers. The ham that the lady carves by the front door is out of this world!!! There is a filling station where you can fill your containers with wine and pay by the liter. They also have a good selection of local wines, Chianti and all, raw milk, etc. And you'll leave this place with a nice fuzzy feeling that you helped the local farmers instead of some giant industrial food conglomerate, a plus.

After speaking to them over email, they delivered our box the very next day. We got a really impressive variety of veggies, bell peppers, peppers, onions, garlic, cabbage, eggplant, herbs, leeks and even a huge yellow melon. The price is 15 euros for a 'standard' box and they deliver weekly (you can arrange with them). They have a sort of membership, you have to agree to 10 deliveries which costs 150 euros (15 euros a box + delivery) and that includes IVA. highly recommend if you live in Tuscany! We are so happy to have a variety of fresh organic veggies to truly eat healthy in a way without having to travel at all. You are also more than welcome to visit the farm and they encourage it!

The drive in was exciting and they have plenty of parking once you get to the place. We enjoyed our walk through the place and were amazed by the beauty as well as the history. I have had the great fortune to visit Verrazzano on 3 occasions and even stayed on the property for 2 days with 2 of my cousins (Cujinos) ... I am good friends with the great and wonderful Luigi Cappellini whose father purchase the property in 1958 .. The property was a bit run-down at the time, but the Cappellini family brought the beautiful estate back to life and made it the great place it is today. Luigi and his family are wonderful people. AT Verrazznno they make some of the BEst Chianti in all of the Chianti Classico Region.. They also make wonderful Honey, Aceto, Chianti Vinegar, and Tuscan Olive Oil.
