So glad we decided to go here for our one night in Montreux. We were seated immediately at a

We got the local white wine, which was really tasty. We started off with the mixed fried seafood and vegetables. The house made tartar sauce was amazing. It reminded me of being back in Lake Como. I then got the specialty of the house which was a clam and butter sauce pasta. The pasta was fresh and made by the restaurant. My husband also got a tomato based pasta, which was also good. The tiramisu was amazing and decadent and luscious. Love the cream in the tiramisu. Overall, a very beautiful and romantic meal. Oh yes, and we also had to try the fresh very very very fresh oysters. These were amazing and honestly, we should've gotten more than two.

Great little restaurant on the Main Street of Montreux. We liked it so much we ate there twice! The

Don't forget to get the homemade pizza bread as a starter! Last but not least the wait staff were very friendly and welcoming. They spoke excellent English and had a laid back attitude.

read more With nothing else to do, we decided to eat. After walking around the town for a while and comparing menus, we settled on Pizzeria La Pignatta. The inside of the restaurant is pretty charming with a ton of wood decorations on the inside. We came during prime lunch time on a day when all skiers were basically unable to hit the slopes, so the restaurant was busy and the service was incredibly slow. That being said, the food was excellent. We ordered olive oil with our bread, and were handed a bottle of olive oil that had been infused with some peppers and herbs. It was absolutely delicious. As a New Yorker - and thereby a pizza lover - I decided on a pizza that strayed from the normal tomato base. We ordered the Montagnarde, wich had cream, cheese, reblochon, ham, fresh mushrooms, and egg. I must say this was a delight. If you have the guts to put an egg in the middle of my pizza and it tastes good, you are good in my book. The pizza definitely hit the spot. No comparison to New York style pizza, but I would definitely suggest it. We also ordered the fondue served with a charcuterie board. The fondue was amazing and incredibly tasty. I was surprised by how something so simple - melted cheese - can be so delicious. The charcuterie board cost extra, but it was worth it. I always love trying out regional charcuterie. We walked back out into the blizzard with smiles on our faces.
