A cozy, informal restaurant that was recommended by our hotel.
As an appetizer, we had the Crema Di Parmagiano. When the dish arrived, I thought they had served us an ice cream sundae by mistake. The reason is that it looked like a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with a squiggle of chocolate sauce, topped with a cookie. In reality, it was burrata cheese, with squiggle of balsamic vinegar, and topped with a chip of baked parmesan cheese (see photo)! It was good, but surprisingly didn't taste much like parmesan cheese.
Next was a side salad for me and a Cesar Salad for my wife. The Italians seem to really use fresh and crispy lettuce and excellent ingredients leading to more than the sum of the parts.
I also creamy tortellini, which is another Bologna specialty. It was very good, but also very rich and filling. I think would be better as a dish that was split between two or three people.
Service was very good. read more
