Nicola and the staff have crafted a masterful experience for guests from top to bottom. The attention to detail and quality, their tireless efforts on your behalf, the seamless beauty and charm of the property and rooms...it's all too much. It is absolutely gorgeous with elegant furnitures, collective articles, wall panels and crown molding. The decoration is stunningly beautiful. The staff is very friendly remembering your name and can tell you stories about the collective articles. The building itself was an elegant reminder of European history and culture. My stay there for a business trip was just fabulous. It wasn't super expensive for European hotel standard, euro 165 a night for a king size bed. If you visit during the week of Formula One race competition, it would be very hard to find a spot at this hotel if you do not book early (by the way, the hotel room is decorated with many Formula One photos). Anyhow, seeing as we had nowhere booked to stay on this hot summer day, we decide to grab a coffee and we asked they guy behind the counter if there was any rooms going. Within minutes a lady appeared and took us to a room. We had to go across the little square up some steps. It was a very cute place. Breakfast was included, so the next day we went over to the cafe. These people were so nice, they gave us lots of there local pastries to try, great coffee, told us all about the village as they were both local. We didn't want to leave. They recommended some local wine too. The white wine in this region is to die for. It was a nice end to a spectator trip to Italy

Amazing, amazing, amazing…read more This walled village and hotel is is like going back 700 years. It is so amazingly restored and so authentic. Stay in a 500 year old house in a thousand year old village. There are two or three little businesses here. Get a snack or a glass of wine at the enoteca. Two ancient churches. Way up on a hill looking down on the valley of vineyards, the views are amazing. This place is OFF THE BEATEN PATH. The hills above have reverted back to wilderness. If you don't stay here for the night, come and have a look. If you want to see a real castle, this is it. Italia is full of them, but this one is top shelve. Fantastic. A living walled village. Come and have a glass of wine. Just loved it. If you want to get away from the crowds and see ancient Italia, this is the place with a view. Every bit worth the winding drive up the hill.
