When my daughter asked her host families where to stay in Barzano, all three said Ref's Redaelli. The rooms are modern, clean and stylish. Oh, and the shower water pressure was like home. A welcome change from the mist like showers we had been taking. The restaurant downstairs had fabulous food and service. Hip and modern plates were filling yet not over the top like other places we've been to. Most of the time we had way too much food, but here it was just right. Cudos to the management and staff.

I got all the privacy I was searching for, as well as the top notch service I expected. The pool area is tiny. I mean, really tiny!! But the spa area is where you need to be. You pay a lil extra, but you book a block of time and it's all yours for that period of time. There's a Turkish bath, jacuzzi, and the waterfall that you stand under after getting out the Turkish bath. Those couple of hours were heaven!!! There was no one interrupting, hopping in/out of the jacuzzi, or steam room. You can also book a massage while there. Everything was A+++. This hotel delivered everything I was looking for! Modern decor, seclusion, privacy, GREAT food (at the restaurant and room service), and EXCELLENT customer service!!!

But some things can get improve :) here are the list: 1. The room need towel hooks, maybe need at least 2? 2. The wifi is not smooth, but maybe due to for from the city? 3. The AC is okay, but I can life with it. After all, this hotel is eco friendly. Also each room provide with black out so be sure you lower it down during sunny time! 4. Maybe they should use wall hang amenities for soap and shampoo, to complete the clean look. To avoid leaving the amenities tubes on the shower floor. 5. The lobby could be less "things". The feeling now is very dense and messy. Which not very minimalist at all. Perhaps better sitting area (not a couch with no structure) Leaving me with feeling 'messy'. Also, less magazine would be nice :) I love all the details of the hotel. Everything are very well thought. From the square toilet, nice comfy bed, pillows, bed sheets through the breakfast presentation! I LOVE them all!!! Not to mention the people here are very kind and friendly (a.k. a - very good service!) - THANK YOU! Definitely this hotel has a resorts vibe which I like and somehow bring me back to Bali...Again, this hotel is very boutique and I am so glad to experience it my self.

I booked it the night before thinking it was close to lake como which turned out was the opposite side of the lake. Although it was a mistake, I felt it was a great score. Here is the pro and con - Pro: Beautiful views Great dinner menu Great breakfast selection Family run -kind hearted family Taxi boat or bus can take you to como and other lakes Steal of price compared to como price Rooms are clean, cute patio area...depends on room Con: Far away from lake and tourist activities No food served for lunch (only breakfast or dinner) Not as easy to get to by foot, taxi must take you to train station or taxi boat It's definitely not the easiest to get to but once you're there you get an amazing welcome of fresh air, infinite lake view and mountains. I remember opening my door and I took a nice deep breath because the air smelled so clean and fresh. Our check in was simple. We were greeted, received room keys and we were sent to our room. Room was all white, white sheets, walls, bathroom and all was white. If compared to other hotels we have stayed at if felt like one of cleanest. Italian Hotels are questionable but this hotel didn't have that feeling. One cloudy morning after breakfast we had the son call for a taxi to take us to the train station. Dad overheard and offered to take us to the train station. Dad and mom was very sweet to drive us to the train station in Lecco. We stayed a few days and was offered both days of our stay. Their kindness is very much appreciated. The Dad was so fatherly he also offered an umbrella because it was cloudy outside. My fiancé offered to pay for it but dad said to keep it- of course we brought it back. We took a bus to the lake, approx 1 hour arrival to other side of lake. You can also take a taxi boat to get to other side if you prefer. Another great thing to note is dinner is only served at 7. This is their standard at most hotels in Italy... please know to eat before then. Dinner menu has great variety of dishes, my favorite was the sea bass and peeled shrimp and be sure to eat the pineapples with shrimp it helps to neutralize the food so you won't feel so bloated. Do try their house wine...a must. ;) If you're not an expert like myself of what is good just ask and they'll be happy to recommend a great one. Breakfast was sweet. From what I remembered there was pancakes, cereal, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee or expesso. It was a great selection :) I ate cereal. Our departure- The son was also so kind to send us away with a lovely bottle of wine, which we will gladly enjoyed later.
