What a wonderful little restaurant! About seven years ago, I enjoyed a lovely dinner at a small Italian restaurant. I looked for it, and probably walked right by it several times since then. Tonight, I stopped back in.
Nothing on the outside would distinguish it from any of the many nondescript pizza and other small restaurants. It's unpretentious The menu is not vast. The prices are reasonable but Stockholm standards.
The quality, however, is a big surprise! I ordered bruschetta, followed by tagliatelle salmone. I expected a couple of small, finger-food bits of bread with some tomatoes on top. What I received was an artists tower of fresh bread, tomatoes, arugula, herbs and fresh basil, presented on herbed extra virgin olive oil and a swish of thick balsamico. The tagliatelle was also a revelation. Instead of the usual piquant lemon picatta, this dish has a base of a light, blush tomato sauce with a hint of red pepper zing. The salmon was fresh, firm and abundant. Cherry tomato halves and fresh greens completed the presentation. A glass of the house Chianti completes the meal.
The menu has only a few antipasto selections, plus a handful of pasta dishes and a selection of traditional pizzas, but you'll likely find something you enjoy. There are a lot of small hotels in the area and even more small restaurants competing for your taste buds. I heartily recommend you add Il di Vino to your list. read more
