We were referred to Trattoria Il Cortile by our B&B host. It was a short and pleasant walk from our lodging. We were the first customers for dinner (still on American hunger time) and had the place to ourselves, so we really got a feel for it. Don't let the white table cloths, top shelf service, and sophisticated ambiance fool you. Il Cortile is a fine restaurant for a special date or party just as for a post-adventure meal, casual stroll stop, etc. We felt extremely welcome. Extremely. The hostess, which I think may have been the owner, helped us choose a spectacular half bottle of wine (always affordable in Italy) and the servers were very helpful with menu selections. About the time we were finishing locals were beginning to arrive for dinner. The near silence we walked into, table by table, grew into a wonderful symphony of conversation. It felt good to just sit and sip and people watch amid the buzz and feel the Parma love. Don't miss it. read more
