My friend ordered the seafood bucatini and even though it looked like a small dish from it's beautiful presentation, once you mixed it up, it became a very hefty (and fishy) dish. She really liked it! I decided to go with the local white pork and cheese sandwich, and was not expecting (4) full halves! Ate half and the other half became a perfect snack. Prices are really reasonable and lots of yummy choices.

The sign on the building said pizzeria, but there were no pizzas in the menu. Come to find out, they have a whole separate pizza menu. We ordered a couple different pizzas along with a calamari appetizer and spaghetti. The food was great, but the service was even better. The staff was attentive and friendly. We also saw other tourists eating here. For dessert, I tried the tiramisu and it was okay. It had coffee beans and some other things that made it taste bitter. It was also constructed differently, which some may like, but wasn't my favorite. If you want to eat at a place with good food, better service and a nice view, this is a very good place to try out.

The place was very busy so the service was a little light since they had so many tables to manage. But our waiter was very friendly and apologetic. The food was great. We started with the buffalo mozzarella and the swordfish with mushrooms. For our main course we got the shrimp risotto and the lobster linguine. For dessert we got the baba which was huge! Overall I would recommend. They have seating both in the front on the water and in the back which we didn't realize at first. We had trouble accessing the English menu since we could not get on their WiFi network but they have a touch screen menu in the back with multiple languages.

Albeit i normally am happy with sbarros. Very authenic and rich in tomato taste. Highly recommend. Turns out they are a couple of restaurants on the way up. Happy stomach. Best part i got to eat it all by myself. Highly recommend this place.

The pizza con bufalo is amazing, as is the bufalo mozzarela appetizer. If you've never had authentic bufalo mozzarella, made from the milk of Mediterranean buffaloes, you're missing out. Blows traditional mozzarella out of the water with a firm exterior and creamy interior. Their pastas are perfectly al dente and seasoned nicely. The basil pesto pasta is especially good. The servers are very friendly, and the space is large, and utilitarian, yet comfortable. If you are staying in Ercolano, it's definitely worth a visit.

Osteria della Mattonella, run by the La Marangio family, specialises in all the home cooked classics, but the restaurant itself is the real draw, decorated as it is in blue and green majolica tiles that have graced the walls since the 1700s. This is the #1 restaurant to have Ischia's #1 dish: Ischian Rabbit. But you don't have to have the rabbit to fall in love with this establishment and its owners. We arrived from America, sleepless and hungry having made reservations in advance. Nicola, the restaurant owner, host, and son of the chef, greeted us with more love and welcome than we could ever have imagined. He gave us the best table with a sunset view down the mountain to the sea. My husband made the wise decision to pre-order the rabbit (it takes 45min to an hour to prepare). I had Ischian shrimp and a salad. We also ordered the stuffed zucchini blossoms as an appetizer. Everything came to the table fresh with so much attention to detail and SO delicious. I'd never eaten rabbit but I tried some of my husband's and it was delightful! We stayed in the twinkling lights of Montecorvo until dark and then, the real magic. Nicola allowed us back to the kitchen to thank the chef, his gracious mother Carmela. She was beautiful as she was talented in her cooking. We left feeling as though we'd not just had dinner as patrons but had been welcomed to the family table. I adore this restaurant and its family. I highly recommend. In fact, I would insist on taking you, if I could. Thank you, Nicola and Carmela! We hope to return many times in the future. Ischia has captured our hearts (and our palates), thanks to you.

We also got a matching wine from Ischia, which was perfect for our mains. Shame we couldn't have a dessert too... We were too full!!
