Wow. Worst pizza ordering experience ever…read more After a long day of driving around and visiting Bavarian castles, I convinced my guys to order pizza instead of leaving our hotel again for dinner. I feel bad now that I did since it ended up being a total crapshoot. I ordered 3 pizzas via Lieferando for delivery at 18:45. At 18:10, I got a call from the pizza place confirming the order. I was advised that it would arrive in the next 20-25 minutes. By 19:10, we still had no food, so we called back to check. We were told that the pizzas were still in the oven and that it would take another half an hour - no apology. About half an hour later the driver indeed showed up (and to be fair, he apologized twice for the late arrival of the food). I took the pizzas inside and we discovered that one of them had a crust that was charred black and therefore inedible and another one was completely wrong altogether - instead of asparagus and egg, it had jalapeños and egg. So we called back again and here is where it gets ridiculous. Firstly, the guy on the phone tried to convince me that "charred black" just means "really crispy". Then I told him about the incorrect toppings on the second pizza and he said "Oh yeah... I made that one. We are out of asparagus so I thought jalapeños would do." - I was dumbfounded. I actually had to explain to him that he should not have done that but call us to inquire what we want instead if they are out of something. Then he got all flustered and asked me what he was supposed to do now. "Well", I told him. "Make me a new pizza with the toppings of my choice and send the driver over again." He tried to wriggle his way out of that by telling me they were really busy and it would take another hour before that pizza would arrive, but I insisted. In the end, he caved but demanded that I had to return the incorrect pizza to the driver in exchange. (Really? What is he going to do that with that pizza now - sell it to another poor soul ordering a pizza with a topping that he doesn't have anymore?) It then took 2 hours for the replacement to arrive. They actually sent two pizzas to replace the charred one as well, but again made a mistake by just sending a standard cheese instead of a mozzarella pizza. And since they had sent a replacement for the charred one, the driver actually asked us to return that one as well! My husband told him that he is welcome to take the charred leftovers with him since we ate the edible parts cause we were starving - and in the end the driver acknowledged that it was a bit much to ask to wait hours for a new pizza and just took charred leftovers as well the jalapeño pizza. So, in the end we got enough (and fairly tasty) food but what a drama!
