Ate here twice on my trip and the reason was because the service was extremely friendly and I really loved the food. The menu more unique than other places but the staff was flexible, kind and had a nice energy compared to most other places. They were not rude to Americans like I experienced a lot on this trip! Definitely a great restaurant in Bologna!

Course #1 - squid and prawn salad with beetroot purée

Quick review: + modern take on seafood + no menu (surprise and delight!) + great service + good value for money + takes reservation Full review: We were dining across the road (literally on the pavement opposite) and only when we saw lots of people going in, and some being turned away, did we realise it was a restaurant. The pink neon sign above the door isn't very classy, the entrance is unassuming and looks like the entrance to a stockroom. Not to mention there is no menu... But word of mouth (or social media) has done it wonder. The restaurant has about 15 tables and does one cover a night, so there is very limited space. However, Il Cantuccio does take reservation so you can guarantee yourself a table for the following day. The reason there is no menu outside is that, well, there is no menu inside. You go in and they serve you c. 5 courses of seafood, plus dessert and a bottle of wine... all for 45 euros at the time we visited. For our evening, we were served squid and prawn salad with beetroot puree, seared tuna crusted in poppy seed, stuffed squid in pea & mascarpone puree, selection of deep fried seafood (prawns and two different types of fish) with different chutney and sauces, as well as mussels in a tomato broth. These were followed by a sorbet, a trio of dessert, coffee, and limoncello. All in all, great value for money, and a nice "hidden gem"!

Osteria Broccaindosso - Tagliatelle Al ragu (2nd of the 3 pasta sampler) and the best I've had yet. The ragu was meaty and really flavorful.

They didn't have any tables outside so we were seated inside. Service (3.5/5): No WiFi unfortunately which isn't great for an international traveler like me. Standard European service. Not terribly friendly and not terribly efficient but I would say they were a bit more attentive than the norm. They did hook us up with some complimentary limoncello shots which was a really nice touch. Ambiance (3.5/5): A little quieter since it's off the beaten path which I like. A pleasant, homey restaurant. Drinks (4.5/5): We shared a bottle of wine. And the aforementioned limoncello shots. Food (4/5): We went with their pasta for two deal where each person gets three different types of pasta that you choose from six or so options. I love getting a variety of dishes so this was a nice way to do it. Not huge portions given the price but still delicious. The dishes were served to us quickly and we got to try some pastas we had never heard of. Overall: When in Bologna, Osteria Broccaindosso makes for a fine choice. It's a 15-minute walk or so from the center of town.

Food came out hot and fast and we very much enjoyed every bit. This restaurant is highly by a group of foodies from Seattle!

The waitstaff were knowledgeable about the food and wine. The wines are all from the owner's brother vineyard. We had the red and the Prosecco. The red was full bodied. It was an amazing artichoke and cheese concoction with a shredded artichoke salad on the side. The pastas were all very good. The bolognese had tender meat with a tasty sauce. The tortellini in beef broth is also a local winter dish. The tortellini were filled with a nice mixture of beef and cheese with a full bodied beef broth. A simple but delicious dish! I'm usually not a truffle fan but the spaghetti with black truffles had a good balance of truffle flavor without being overpowering. The scalloping with cheese and Parma ham was tasty. The meat was tender, the cheese side decadent and the ham added a bit of salty flavor. We were too full for dessert!

Upon walking through the alley I was greeted by the owner of the restaurant who was nothing but kind. After being sat down my table decided to order the mozzarella bites and our server's choice of white wine to begin with. Our server selected a wine that he had me try before giving me the entire bottle. I appreciated him letting me try the wine and asking what I wanted in the wine before selecting it. Afterwards we received our mozzarella bites that includes mini mozzarella balls, basil, and tomatoes. This was a refreshing appetizer that was a great start to our eating experience. We then placed our order for our main course. I ordered the tagliatelle al ragu bolognese. Once the dish came out the owner of the restaurant asked if I would like parmesan and he sprinkled the perfect amount. This pasta was extremely delicious and I ate every last bite. I plan to order both of these dishes again in the future. Additionally, we did not order a dessert but the owner insisted that we try the tiramisu. Thankfully, the owner gave us two slices that we devoured instantly. Along with the other two dishes, I will definitely order the tiramisu. Overall, Ristorante Teresina has an amazing menu, wonderful environment, and excellent service. All three of these aspects are why I will return to this restaurant!

We were seated in one of the interior rooms which is small but warm and comfy and dominated by a huge wine fridge. They have an excellent wine list and we choose a san giovese wich has their name in the label. Same with the water bottle. That tells you this place has been around a while. That could be a good thing as it means they sustain quality or maybe not. In this case good sign. the wife ordered the steak with rosemary and a side of roasted potatoes (she wanted the fried but this what they have) she also got a salad. I ordered the capallaci a la carbonara. The side dishes were just unbelievably good. Th potatoes were crispy on the edges and soft inside, they were so full of flavor I could not believe it. Possibly th best roasted potatoes I have ever tasted. The side salad was so fresh and tasty just Aragula , carrots, tomatoes with an excellent olive oil but fresh. The salad was bursting with flavor. We ordererd steak all over Tuscany none compared to this. The pasta .... Wow... Al dente but soft filling with an incredible cream sauce and a crispy guanciale that elevated the dish to perfection. I got a hot tea with lemon, perfect for the cold. We first got the pizza Bella arte, which has a bunch of toppings. I'm not normally a huge pizza fan, but this one was quite pleasant. The crust was thin and the edges had a nice crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. It was flavored nicely and had a good variety. My only complaint would be that toppings weren't distributed evenly. There was a huge one piece of artichoke that comprised a full bite. We also opted for more traditional Balogna dishes: the tortellini en brodo, which was not bad. Soup was seasoned ok, not too salty or too bland. The tortellini itself was simple, with some meat and cheese. Seems like a nice comfort food for those who grow up with it. The tagliatelle al ragú was seasoned well too, although the actual pasta was not as bouncy as others I've had. Not bad though. However at the end we thought we had ordered panna cotta and for some reason it never came. The waiter later seemed confused even though he previously repeated "dessert panna cotta"... so I don't know. But we decided to go without the dessert.... Unfortunately.
