The food, the service, the over the top "aiming to please" attitude of the staff and chef made this one of my best eating out experiences ever.
My oldest son had a plate of grilled meats, my wife had ravioli stuffed with eggplant and buffalo mozzarella made with a fresh tomato sauce, my youngest had linguini (all past homemade/handmade) with sausage, truffles, fresh tomatoes, and I decided to have spaghetti all matriciana. Just a note. Pontecorvo is in Lazio, which is the region where that devastating earthquake took place just recently. The dish I ordered was originated in that town that was destroyed. The desserts were tiramisu and Pana Cotta.
All this and more was accomplished with us unable to speak Italian and the Staff having a tough time with our English. But we all spoke "food". We asked for a bottle of red table wine to go with the meal. Nothing could have been better. We ended the afternoon meal with a discussion (remember we spoke only food!) about homemade liquors and traded recipes!!! I wish I lived here so I could go again and again. read more
