This was the very first restaurant we visited when we went to Lucca in March 2019 (my reviews a bit…read moredelayed!). It is a very short walk from the train station and one of the first restaurants you'll see with both indoor and outdoor seating. The day was absolutely beautiful (March 15) and Pierro was our server, he was very attentive and did a great job recommending dishes and wine to go with our meal.
The Good:
- We had the calzone which was piping hot, and perfectly cooked. We also got a salad with lettuce, black olives, prosciutto, cucumber, yellow peppers and parmesan...it was beyond fresh, even the veggies smelled like they had just been picked from the garden!
- We paired this with the house red, which was delicious, my fiancee is not a wine drinker and he really enjoyed the taste (not too tart, not too sweet).
The Not so Good:
- Because it is a stones throw from the train station prices may be a bit higher than others, but the view is absolutely beautiful of the city and I recommend sitting outside if you do go to take advantage.
Extra extra special thank you Pierro for taking pictures for us....we ended up getting engaged at the very restaurant with Pierro as our personal photographer (he did an amazing job!) so needless to say you have two lifetime customers in myself and my fiancee! We hope to see you very soon!!
With love from Toronto, Canada.
