Our first visit to Ikers will not be our last. The small 36 seat restaurant was full with diners and others picking up takeout. A testament to their fresh authentic food. My tostada was loaded with meat beans and several toppings for only 8.99. So delicious! My partner had the enchilada platter with chicken, chorizo and birria. It came with rice and beans. Delicioso! I was so excited to see that Iker's tacos is close enough for a lunch stop from my place of employment today. The food was soooo good. Great seasoning and just the right amount of heat... got me sweating. It's a small restaurant, and the menu is double sided. There are ala carte options, but the mole enchiladas won my heart. Ikers is one of my favorite places in the Creston Neighborhood. I was so sad to see La Huasteca closing but SO grateful that they could find somewhere close and renamed in honor of their son. This spot is even better than their former location because there is a nice dine in space, a spacious parking lot and the service is always so kind and welcoming. My partner and I have started coming here every week (at least) for their enchiladas, torta and burrito! The homemade salsas are absolutely DELICIOUS and the portion sizes are wonderful. We keep coming back and for good reason. The price to portion ratio is great, supporting our neighborhood and eating delicious food. What more can you want?! I mean, a margarita but that's okay. Wow!! I wish we found Iker's sooner!! We had no idea this was a location change. It's a cute little place with just a few tables. A lot of people in and out for take out. I am so excited to go back. Staff were so incredibly kind even while being busy on cinco de mayo. The stress of the rush did not show at all! The rice and beans were sooo flavorful. I usually don't eat any of the Mexican rice because a lot of restaurants make it dry and not flavorful but I can say my husband was upset I did not let him have mine this time. All of the taco meats were so juicy and flavorful. Truly you cannot go wrong. I didn't try the burrito but my husband loved it. We decided this is our new favorite GR restaurant. Iker's tacos absolutely ROCKS. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the food doesn't leave anything to be desired either. Any great taco joint isn't complete without it's salsas, and MAN does Iker's deliver. Their green salsa is tangy and acidic and aromatic, and their red salsa is smoky and deep and has a solid kick to it. Both are incredible additions to their rich and flavorful meats that they pile onto your plate. Prices were reasonable and it's clear that this place is blowing up. I went on a Saturday evening and was greeted with at 45 minute wait, but the guy behind the counter was eager to express his apologies and thanked me for stopping by. I'm glad to see this place getting the recognition it deserves, as Creston needed a staple taco joint, and Iker's Tacos responded to the call in STRIDE. read more

Easily the best Mexican restaurant in GR. Probably the best Mexican food I've EVER had! My wife and I both got the mole enchiladas, and they were amazing! Be warned: they are nice and SPICY! Mine had chicken, which was so tender and delicious. The restaurant is a small mom and pop with a great atmosphere, and was pretty busy. Our food still came out right away, and the service was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Honestly, I'd give this place 10 stars if I could! Some places say they are authentic, but this is the real deal. We will be back, and often! Our new go-to for sure! read more

Throughout the entire lunch, the staff was very attentive, stopping by the table multiple times to make sure we had everything we need. The inside of the restaurant is pretty simple, but it is comfortable and bright. It's perfect for a low key, local Mexican restaurant. Although it's called "Iker's Tacos," they have almost all menu items a normal Mexican restaurant would have (tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, etc). The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable for the serving size. It's about $14 for the enchilada plate and $18 or so for fajitas. This place is definitely worth checking out and I will definitely be back soon. read more

La Huasteca is back! It's now named Iker's Tacos, in honor of the owner's son who sadly passed away last year. This beloved Creston neighborhood staple had to move from their former location on Plainfield but this Coit spot is even better, with a nicer layout for dining in, and plenty of onsite parking! Nate and I stopped by for lunch and had to try way too much food - we ordered a wet burrito, several tacos, and a quesadilla. The menu was just hand written on a white board (they said they were working on getting new menus), but we knew we'd love anything made there. The employee taking our order was super friendly and polite and so thankful that we loved the food! Everything was hot and fresh when it hit our table and it was some of the best Mexican food I've had in the area. The burrito was massive and stuffed with so much goodness (including avocado, amazing). The tacos were all perfection, with tender corn tortillas and super savory meats. I loved the chorizo the best, but they were all good. Then the barbacoa quesadilla was incredible - the meat was so juicy and flavorful. Everything was so good! I was stuffed afterwards and we took home leftovers of the burrito. I think I paid $40 after tip for a ton of food for the two of us. They keep it clean, service is very good, though, it's pretty pricey, bring some dough. My only complaint was that they charge like 5 bucks for a pop! We stopped in to visit a friend. We specifically looked for a mexican spot and this one popped up! All of the reviews on yelp were super helpful. We LOVED it. The steak was awesome. Guac was great, salsa was amazing. The red salsa that came with tacos was spicy but perfectly flavorful. The green salsa was so good, but definitely had a kick. I tried the enchiladas-- loved them. The wet burrito was a hit at our table and someone also ordered the mole enchiladas and thoroughly enjoyed them. We would definitely stop in again if we come back to town. They didn't have a super huge seating area, but the service was insanely good. We were impressed with every aspect of Iker's!!!
