If you are not using the Too Good to Go app, you are missing out! It has been a long time since I have dined at an IKEA restaurant but decided to try again when a few bags were available on Too Good to Go. I picked up my marketplace bag first, $5.99 for a bag of different pantry items. This would also be a great way to fill a gift basket for someone. Next was my restaurant bag, that was available as the restaurant closed. Staff was busy filling to boxes as we waited, right from the hot items that were left. We were told to take any stack of 3 boxes. For $6.44, I received Swedish meatballs, grilled chicken with black beans and rice, and a chicken wrap. All looked fresh and we plan to enjoy for our work lunches this week! Both bags are picked up at the restaurant, which is easy to get to with the side entrance directly to the restaurant. Hmm....I feel that Ikea has really dropped in everything the last several years. The food, the service, the furniture, the store ans the quality. Like we went to the little food area for 2 hot dogs and they were absolutely disgusting, the pretzel was gross, service was not good but I gave 2 stars for the blue slushie. At least that was decent. Couldn't find anyone for help and when we locate someone, they look like they hate their job and don't want to answer your questions. Not one Ikea employee but 2 and 3 were the same I hate my job attitude. Everything was out of stock and no wonder people stop buying cheap furniture at Ikea. Back then, at least something was great. Delicious food and so so worth it, I can't even get over how cheap the food is. The meatballs are a must! They've really perfected them with the lingonberry jelly and gravy. The macaroni is also crazy good, you can get a plate for like $3 and I think that's what I'll do next time. It looks like it'll be really thick and artificially cheesy. And while it does have that artificial flavor, it's not as strong as I expected. And it wasn't as coagulated as I thought it would be. The garlic bread is delicious, I don't think you can go wrong with garlic bread. But it doesn't matter because they didn't. The garlic lemon cod was a little on the drier side but it's fish and it's cheap so you can't really ask for much. The flavors were all there though. The peas are a nice option when you want some vegetables but they are on the mushier side. The mashed potatoes were really bland so if you get it, I definitely recommend getting the gravy. But it was nice to find there were some actual potato chunks inside instead of just one uniform potato slush. The penne pasta was something I could have done without, but it wasn't bad. Sure, this aint a 5 star restaurant, and sure it's a place to eat in the middle of a huge department store. For sure though, its fun. It's different. That's why I stop in here.That's why I come and eat the meatballs and the peas and sometimes the chocolate cake. This cafeteria style food is a pit stop for the ones who need a break from shopping, or for a family and those who just want to chill folks. It has restrooms and a nice side seatting area for maybe hiding out and having a coffee while you people watch area. Did you know they have events sometimes also? I order this every time we visit and for $5.99, you can get them with two sides, usually mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. Also, you can get them as a side item (4-pc for $1.25 or 8-pc for $2.50). They also offer Braised pork shank plate, Salmon plate, and other good stuff. Plenty of drinks and desserts to choose from. Some are priced under a buck. Do you like coffee? Be a part of the IKEA family and the whole fam gets free unlimited coffee for the day. Only one member card is required. That deal used to include lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos. Now, you have to purchase tokens to get those. What a bummer! Before the change, my wife and I used to be jacked up with caffeine as we drank cups of espressos and lattes. LOL There's also an IKEA Bistro located in front of the store. "Pick up a quick snack and drink for the entire family before you make the journey home with your new purchases. I want to be fair with my review since this was a cafeteria setting, so there really isn't any service or customization of foods available. The cafeteria was clean, and getting through the line was relatively fast and easy. There are choices for dessert (three or four choices), salads, soups, and entrees. I'd be careful of the salads in the refrigerated doors, as I watched a lady slide her arm over several salads to get one in the back. Her arm touched several salads... just gross! My spouse and I both got Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, lingonberry sauce and English peas. Everything was tasty, not spectacular, but tasty for just $8.49 for the meal. Our child got the chicken fingers with fries. She agreed everything was decently seasoned. We all ate for about $25.00. There was plenty of seating available. Went to IKEA to look for a new dresser. During our shopping, we got a bit hungry and decided to eat at their cafeteria. They always have good menu selections every time we go here for a meal. I also like they change the menu a bit seasonally so you look forward to some new ingredients or recipes. We ordered the salmon and Swedish meatballs. It was a good dinner and fairly priced. You see, the other, older IKEA locations typically have their restaurant readily accessible, which is in front of the store. So shoppers tend to eat at the restaurant, then high tail home once done... without ever setting any shopper foot inside past the restaurant. IKEA took notice of this and that is why, with the IKEA of Jacksonville, the restaurant was built in the middle of IKEA, allowing shoppers to browse & shop the 1st half of IKEA. Then eventually, they build hunger in between, leading then to eat at the restaurant, before finishing the 2nd remaining half of the store.   And it's not like the IKEA Restaurant has bad food. IKEA is known for their famous Swedish Meatballs. And folks, let's not confuse the Swedish Balls for "Swedd-ish Balls". I sarcastically call them "Schweddy Balls" only because I grew up watching/remembering that old Saturday Night Live comedy skit. Dammm, I'm really showing my age.   But my all time favorite meal here is the Salmon meal.. which is the trio of the Salmon, the Potato-Broccoli Medallion and the Seasonal Veggies. I love IKEA and I love their Swedish meatballs. I literally try to arrange my visits to IKEA close to lunch time so I can eat here. It's fast, fresh, and very affordable. I only order the meatball meal but my son once ordered the (adult) chicken tenders and they were quite good. I've sampled a few of their desserts and they've all been really good. The DAIM cake is probably my favorite, based on a popular candy bar (similar to a Kit Kat). The workers are pleasant people and try to keep it clean. The seating area is large and off to the side is a more casual area with couches - really nice if you need a more laid back space to relax by yourself, with the kids, breastfeed, etc. Large, clean bathrooms are located back here as well. read more

One of my favorite reasons to go to Ikea! Chocolate cake and the meatballs plate! I fell hard for Ikea when I lived in the Tampa Bay area- I wish they had done that store layout here in Jax. To me the salmon balls, veggie balls, and chicken balls don't live up to the meatball but I love meatballs! Pork tenderloin is a hard pass for me. The pork is dry and tough and the sauce doesn't add much flavor. The salmon on the other had isn't bad at all. It is well prepared and tender. Mac and cheese is pretty average. If you like your Mac and cheese cheesey then this doesn't fit the bill. The vegetable medallion is where it is at. It makes me enjoy eating vegetables! For the kids (and adults) chicken tenders are classic. They seem to have a light batter. It is crisp and not too heavy. Dessert cakes were average. None of them stood out to me. I would rather grab the soft serve after shopping. Lines can get super long during meal times but overall you will have your food in 15 minutes. Service is friendly. It was all a hit, except for the orange drinks that were thrown away. I had the salmon balls with veggies and mashed potatoes (5.49), which were pretty good but could have been warmer, and a pear cider which was delicious. We also tried a few small desserts (.49 each) but really disliked them. It's easy to walk through and pick your items, with handy carts for moms like me juggling food for multiple kids too. And tables are readily available and feel like home with real silverware and plates. It's a more upscale cafeteria. I loved the decor of this place! They have nice large windows that bring in tons of light. Most of it is self serve where you take a tray and pick out whatever you want almost like a cafeteria. We went in on a Saturday evening and got a latte and coffee. I love the prices- just a $1 for coffee and $1.50 for latte. The desserts also looked very tempting but I didn't give in to them, maybe next time! It was our first time at this location so we were a little lost and the staff were not that helpful even though it wasn't that busy. The only thing that changes is the rotation of seasonal veggies. There's also a selection that is limited time and changes. The restaurant is completely outfitted and decorated with Ikea products you can use before you buy. What I loved most is the fresh homemade food at an affordable price. For those that come with kids especially IKEA can be a several hours trip. The restaurant allows families to shop but also eat affordable.
