There's nothing new about IKEA. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. And this remains true for NSW's newest store at Marsden Park with one exception. My partner and I left on speaking terms. I think we were actually laughing as we walked out the door. Unheard of, right? And that's the something ever so marginally different about THIS IKEA. Maybe it's still in a honeymoon phase and the novelty hasn't worn off, but there's definitely a higher level of calm and order here. Sure we visited on a Thursday afternoon but still (I won't guarantee you'll find a rock star park at the front door on a Saturday) it didn't have any markers of "The ring of fire" feels a trip to IKEA usually emits. Brand new IKEA! Who doesn't love a super warehouse full of sleek, stylish, Swedish homewares! This is your standard ikea, comes with all the bells and whistles. Kids minding playground area - sign your children in for ONE whole hour of child free bliss..! (Btw - it's free!) The restaurant is nice - comes with a large dining area. And also has an area for the kidlets to play when they've finished eating.. IKEA is one of my favourite places.. Walking around in the maze of household goodies.! As a few others have said, once you've done an IKEA, you've done them all. You will either love IKEA or you will hate it. I'm in the camp of "love it, want to live in it, would happily spend my free time here". I am so happy an IKEA opened up near me! Marsden Park is only a 20 minute drive or so from me which means I can now spend more money at this place on a regular basis :P The staff here were very friendly. I usually don't need any help, but on one particular visit I had my printed shopping list, had checked the stock that morning only to walk up to an items place on the shelf and there were zero there (the website said 200+). I asked a group of warehouse workers who were grouped together building and moving a display around, and they were more than happy to help me out! They found my stock - it was in the middle isle for some promotional thing. Pro-tip for IKEA newbies: Use the website. You can check stock for everything. Generally anything that's in the green is a safe bet, anything that's yellow (low stock) I wouldn't count on as their product move incredibly quick. You get used to building it after you've done a couple of pieces, and always have a plan! Before I walk into IKEA I always have a list and an idea of what I want to buy - it is very overwhelming if you don't, and could probably end up in fights and tears! lol. read more

Being a brand new store it's all pretty and clean and shiny. We were greeted at the door when we walked in which was odd and offered a bag. There's also a child minding drop off area as you walk in. Like any other IKEA store you have to walk through the entire store even if you just want one thing, but this store had plenty of areas set up for customers to sit at a computer and design their home. We noticed an entire area set up like this had staff assisting too. The cafe was absolutely huge and the food range seemed bigger than other stores. And cheap of course! There's a smaller cafe at the exit and a funky kids area with a pirate ship for them to sit at. read more

I love this place, like a home away from home. My office chair died and IKEA was the 3rd place I looked for a chair. I was pleasantly surprised by the range that they have and the prices are very reasonable. They have everything you need to furnish a home office including stylish little pen holders. I will not make the same mistake again of looking elsewhere for my furniture needs. Plus the cafe lures you in to stay and shop a little longer. The almond cake is amazing . It's a bit of a marathon to get to the checkouts but at least you would have burnt off the calories from that delicious cake read more

Fantastic store that is easy to spend hours in. There's tons to look at and even a few places to eat. It's a large store that has almost everything you could ever need to style your home the way you want. The prices are very reasonable and the furniture is generally easy to put together. read more

Absolutely love the food at Ikea! We go there just for a nibble on the way to our favorite river spot! Always nice and clean, and it's massive! You can always find what you are looking for! And the parking, well there is never a shortage of that it's great! read more

I will admit I'm a bit of an Ikea virgin, I didn't even venture their locations in Europe when the opportunity arose, however on this occasion being my second visit I am now convinced it is worth the drive. My first visit here I was petrified to hike through a endless mosh pit of pram pushing mothers with screaming, unleashed children followed by tired looking dads who clearly regret coming along and the crowded restaurant lines and cashiers, it was so long we were practically amongst the self checkout furniture pickup area. Not to mention the ever confusing parking area of choosing the ideal spot to park i.e when you leave with a heavy trolley. But I discovered the best time to avoid all that nightmare above, two hours before closing on a random weekday. Barely any families, best parking available, staff were free enough to actually assist you, restaurant empty so you can eat in peace without waiting long lines or fight for a table. When the atmosphere is different, Ikea is much easier to shop and enjoy. read more
