I always wish IKEA was an actual all furnished apt complex- what fun it would be to live in the store and wake up to the resto every day! The variety of options for furniture and room installments is huge. Good for the student, or the family starting off on a budget. I love IKEA- has great things, like costco, you can easily get sucked into buying a vortex of things. The bill adds up quickly. Sign up for the IKEA family card for discounts. I really like the restaurant for affordable food, I like they use washable utensils and plates- go green! Food here is so affordable. I had the swedish meatballs with mash potatoes and veggies for 8$. This meal is of good quality and generous in amount. The pureed jam adds a nice touch. Other meal options are fish and chips or the salmon and crab cakes. A great outing for the family, second to my costco trips. read more

Beautiful selection of stuff - just wish there was more staff around to help you. They're definitely not the type to approach you for any assistance so when it's packed, it's hard to flag someone down. I came in looking for a specific chair that I found through the ikea site, according to store availability, there were supposed to be 8 units left in stock but when I went to the store on the same day, I was told the inventory was inaccurate. This isn't an item that is available for online purchase either and I was told they may only get more in a month, no mention of putting anything on reserve or getting a call for when to come back. Disappointed I went out of my way for it, but at least I found some other nice things. Impossible to walk out of Ikea empty handed. I especially love the food here, so cheap and delicious. 2$ pasta dishes, salmon for 7$, buns for a dollar, etc.. And refilling your own glass with as much soda, juice, milk or coffee is also a plus. Even if you're not coming to buy furniture, just come have breakfast or lunch, it's worth it. They have a very spacious cafeteria that makes for an ideal resting spot- Updated summer 2014, they now offer free wifi too. read more

This location is the OG IKEA for me. I've been many times and quite enjoy their fish and chips plate. I like their soups and garlic bread and veggie potato pancake thing. I also love their DAIM chocolate and cake - everything is affordable. The only gross thing I've tried there is their vegetarian meatball plate. Apart from that, the layout can be a little confusing at times, especially if you're trying to back-track without having to do the full loop again. This place gets really crowded so I avoid weekends like the plague. read more

Update review from 3 years ago: We decided to go back, and were a little worried due to the covid-19 restrictions. We arrived at 8:30am, and there was already a good lineup outside. Store would not accept more than 950 people in there. If you arrive at 8:40am on a Saturday, you are screwed. You will not get in. The good: Lots of interesting new stuff. Classics are still there. Security measures for covid well in place. The bad: A LOT of OUT OF STOCK! Store was practically empty of everything. Cannot order online either. Staff is young and immature. Some of them were making jokes while working, loud enough for everyone to hear. A lot of "premade" rooms under construction. It is very frustrating "building" a room only to come at the end and see that NOTHING is available. You cannot even order and pick up. Delivery is in 6 to 8 weeks. Very sad experience. What gave this place two stars is the security measures in place. read more

I hate to give a 1 star but I've got to after my experience today. Don't get me wrong, ikea is a fun place to visit and not too expensive to bring things home and assemble them yourself. This location checked off all the enjoyment boxes for me while I was there. However... Don't get assembly with delivery from ikea. I was told assembly and delivery would happen today, for my sofa, between 8am and 1pm. Unfortunately, there are three parties involved in this process; ikea, XPOLogistics and some unknown person who will come to put everything together after you call them to notify you've had your materials delivered. There was a delay in delivery because of "weather" (I'm not a fan of this excuse in QC because there's always a bad chance for snow/companies should be prepared) so then I had to call the assembly person to say there was a delay. The assembly man said it was impossible for him to assemble my sofa today during the new delivery estimated period of 1pm-7pm. So I tried calling XPOLogistics multiple times and never got a response, I called Ikea to try to reschedule delivery and they said it was "not their job", so I asked the delivery person to call their manager at XPOLogistics to reschedule delivery but the manager also said it was "not their job"....finally I had to go back and forth with Ikea and XPOLogistics to get the new assembly time for tomorrow. This was an incredibly inconvenient and unorganized delivery and assembly system. I would not recommend it. Hopefully the assembly service goes smoothly tomorrow and I will update here. I will also try to share these comments on XPOLogistics Yelp page and will create a page for them if need be. I don't want anyone to share the same annoying experience I just had! read more

Have recently done quite a few trips to this Ikea and it has been good every time! We usually like to get there early and enjoy the super cheap basic breakfast (1$!!!) and then get stuck into shopping. Ikea is known for its minimal contemporary designs at affordable prices so its great for first time home buyers! It is super easy to navigate around the place and find what you need. I love the self-checkout system also as if you go frequently for small or medium items, its very easy and faster to use. The only area I would improve are the elevator systems (only one elevator to go down to the Marketplace and one to entrance) as it can get quite confusing and if its a busy day, you can be waiting some time. Other than that, it has always been one of my favourite home accessories store and I will be doing some more visits again soon! read more

Honestly, if there's one place that I try to avoid at all cost... it would be IKEA. Don't get me wrong, I like what they do, although the quality of some of their products can be questionable, they make modern furniture affordable and that's always a plus. However, I am not a shopping fan... I just want to get what I need and run out, but with IKEA's maze concept, it kinda makes this a little bit difficult plus there's always crowds and crowds of people. I'm moving into a new place so the sleeping interior designer in me had to make that little effort (having a sofa or kitchen table could always be useful lol). I had never been to that location and honestly, it is better in terms of layout and space than the one in Montreal (at least that's my opinion). The staff is very helpful and seemed happy to assist me with my 1,000 questions. When I got a little bit hungry, I went to their cafeteria and tried their veggie "meatballs" and I really enjoyed it... so much that I've purchased two bags of it. I've noticed that they also have a kid zone at the entrance (like all the other IKEA stores that I've visited so far), which is always nice, not all kids enjoy long shopping hours! :-) read more

This IKEA has HORRIBLE customer service. We arrived today at 4:40PM to complete a return at the Boucherville location, and were told to leave because they didn't have time to process the return. I tried to explain that I needed to collect my other items and couldn't do without first returning these items, and I was met with the upmost disrespect. When we asked for her name, she refused to give us her name, she went as far as hiding her name card. After I asked why she wouldn't give us her name, she said she would call the police because she felt threatened. My father was speaking to her, and I guess for IKEA, being black by default makes you a threat. She called the police and stated she feared for her safety, when all we did was ask her for her name and a valid explanation why they were closing 20 minutes early. The police came and didn't do anything because in true Karen fashion, she had nothing to really stand on. IKEA should be ashamed of themselves, how can you employ a women who closes shop earlier and calls the police because she doesn't understand that being black doesn't make us a threat?? read more

I don't even know where to start on this review. It's stranger than fiction. I am a designer and have used IKEA for closets before a couple of times and things went 'fairly okay', there were a few missing pieces and a 'normal' amount of pieces that had missing parts or slightly damaged. It was annoying but a quick fix by running to the store. This time was soooo much different. After designing and spending 4500$ purchasing a large wardrobe system everything was ordered and the delivery date set. The following week as scheduled between 8am and 1pm the delivery was arranged. The people from XPO LOGISTICS called to say they would be running a bit late.. no problem, about 130-2. They showed up at 345, a bit late but still not a problem. The thing is where the problem becomes big is that they sent clearly two 'not okay' people to our house to set the closet up. First of all after arriving at 345 they decided to go out for food at 415?? They came back with a pizza box and drinks which they left on the floor for me to clean up. They also spent pretty much the first hour arguing on the phone and going for cigarettes (8 floors down and thru a lobby makes for a somewhat long smoke break) and were really weird and inappropriate. Still not the worlds biggest problem but if it wasn't two of us in here I would of felt VERY VERY uncomfortable. IKEA needs to be responsible for the people they hire and send to your house. After they left and I began to clean up all the garbage ( not placed neatly as IKEA says but strewn all across my floor) I started to notice that my floor was all scratched, my front door had a huge gouge out of it, my door rim was damaged and they drilled holes into my hardwood floors! And the closet was missing major pieces so they were unable to finish the job, also none of the light they installed worked??Knowing IKEA I thought this would be somewhat of an easy recovery. IKEA would send out a new team they would asses the damage, make the proper repairs and finish the job. Right? WRONG. I spent 7.5 hours on hold with IKEA and although I received quite a few apologies there was absolutely no solution. Finally after spending a 'work day' worth of time on hold someone I spoke to and noted the situation assured me they would send a new team to bring the parts and make the repairs. Whatever happended it could not be the same team. When I called XPO LOGISTICS to speak to their boss he said I had an attitude and hung up on me. So clearly I stressed to IKEA that it could not be these same people. We felt unsafe with them and they completely damaged our house, IKEA was very apologetic and assured me the situation would be solved. 7.5 hours of mostly on hold and actual speaking time was all assurances. Well the delivery date came today for the finishing of the project and guess what? IKEA sent The same exact team out to my house!!!! And they were beyond MAD! NOT TALKING AND THROWING THEIR WEIGHT AROUND. I called IKEA back and after holding for another hour they let me know that they were 'sorry'. And that if I could hold they would see what they could do..but they wanted to let me know they were experiencing a high volume of calls and the wait time would be long.... I made sure to record every phone call as IKEA does. I let them know that I was recording the phone calls to document the terrible level of service that they were providing me with. I plan to take these calls and condense their worst parts of their service into a YouTube video to let people know what they are getting into before becoming involved with IKEA because if for any reason you have a problem be prepared to WAIT for 8.5 hours on the phone and receive NO HELP. It's really a crime against humanity to treat people like this. Oh and I'm sure IKEA won't care but if for some reason they don't like the bad review and decide to care my customer file number is 16696835. .... hour 10 on hold, it's apparently not IKEAS problem that they sent this company to our house twice! In their words 'you need to take it up with them' My response was 'I didn't hire them..' and they told me to 'fuck off' when I called. Next step picketing outside IKEA. It's not okay to treat people like this. I would of expected such better care from a company like IKEA, sadly I don't think I've ever been treated worse or had customer service as bad. It's especially great when you hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes and they 'drop' your call. Anyone would give up and I should do. Crime against humanity. read more

DIY planning to build or renovate a kitchen need to try Ikea. I have purchased half a dozen kitchens from here and having shopped all around I can tell you that this is the best bang for your buck solution. I find they have a lot of different styles, the quality is very good (like I said I have had some experience buying and using their kitchens), and because it is so cheap you can actually change it in 5 years (because you decide your taste have changed) and not break the bank. Things you must know: You should have an experience person taking the measurements (cause once it is cut it is yours no changes), remember that everything here is straight, so if your new place is like a lot of places (on the plateau for example), then you will need to shimmy and consider the fact that your wall is crooked not the cabinets. So take your time. There are often delays due to backorders, so allow some leaway in your timing, or you may end up with an issue, the safest way to go about this is to ensure your installer has some flex time and order well in advance, remember they will store it for a grace period so better safe then sorry. The Ikea installers are safer but more expensive Be prepared to spend at least 4 hours at Ikea to pick out your kitchen with the Ikea designers, it is not a fast project but it is a very satisfying one. Be sure you have all your measurments, (checked twice or three times), if your using a contractor bring him and her along. tip: be sure to always check their tel quel section they have one in any Ikea. read more

Ok, I had no idea Ikea had a cafeteria, it was so cool and the prices were amazing for the type of food promised. Chicken breast and fries for 6 bucks, how can you beat that? Ok, well, you can beat that if the chicken was beaten with a salt-lick before it was cooked. OMG! The chicken was so salty you needed a pitcher of water between every bite. Almost as good as my high-school cafeteria. They do have a healthy alternative salmon dish and each item you add to your meal may cost 99 cents or so each but man, does it add up. I had a Chicken Dinner with all you can eat drink, a 3 mini cake dessert and a large chocolate bar for about 13 dollars. Nice but flipping salty! If you have high blood pressure, make sure you bring extra meds but in the mean time, enjoy the shopping. :) read more

Love this place. Went there do get stuff fo a walk-in closet and walked out of there in no time at all. THe staff was super friendly and helpful, gave me ideas and different options. It's definitely worth going there if you are going to renovate areas of your place when they are having their sales! 15% cash back is always a nice little gift when you have furnished your whole house with Ikea!!!
