Ok so first, I would like to thank the Food, it was ok. But the service left lots of stuff that could be improved. Maybe he is new but he could have someone else to his side, explain he was new or even have a tag that said "training" like many other places do. There are different ways to work something out and even if one thing goes wrong, if you are giving and working as a server, it has to be complete. The waitress did not let explain my sister her order, forgot one order when delivering the food along with a coffee pitcher. Also the kitchen was not even wearing gloves when I saw while I was going to the bathroom. At least not the ones close to the food to pick it up. And this picture, it's also something that disappointed me. So probably it's part of the restaurant , i don't know if "presentation" or way to show it but how can you deliver a shake along with what is "left of it" in a container like that one? And the "left overs" were even worse than the container and the outside of it, dirty. It's like ordering a soup and then they give you the pan or the container they made it with. Great service from our waitress and we were seated right away. The coffee is not the best and is a bit water down, and the orange juice was good. We had the lumberjack breakfast, strawberry pancakes, hash browns, sausage, and bacon with eggs. The pancakes are small but fluffy. Bacon was not crispy and the sausage was good. I visited IHOP quite a bit. The food and service have always been very good. However, There's always a first time for everything. On this day the restaurant was pretty busy, so we expected to wait for a bit. We were seated immediately, but it took about 15 minutes to be greeted by our waiter. When he finally arrived to take our order, we had to repeat the order a few times, it took awhile to get coffee and after an hour no food arrived, but the waiter brought the check. I asked him " How can you bring a check when we received no food?" He looked at me confused unable to solve a problem for a frustrated customer. Of course, I demanded to speak with a manager. This is something I never do. The manager was very apologetic and she took the time the hear me lay out all the issues we had, then the manager personally took care of us, the rest of the wait staff were very nice and told us many times how they appreciated us giving them an opportunity to make things right. I evaluate a business not for the issues that may occur, but the ability to solve those issues for the customer. I really felt this valued me as a customer. For that, I will continue to visit IHOP for meals wherever am. If you are in the Wisconsin Dells stop in for some pancakes. By the way... After refusing to pay the bill, suddenly she was there??? She said her name was Alla. She offered replacement food, made excuses for the bug and offered to show the kitchen. Came in for a late dinner and mostly enjoyed it. Server was friendly, food was decent, and there was a relatively short wait time. My one complaint is that we ordered a watermelon splasher, which on the menu had no indication of strawberries either in the photo or in the description, which was given with strawberries. Because of a food allergy, we had to ask the server to remake it and she was pretty adamant that the watermelon splasher does come up with strawberries. We had a small back and forth before she agreed to redo the drink. This is a stupid thing to get hung up on, but I felt quite the fool until we went home and I googled the drink. I can't find any indication that this drink comes with strawberries normally, and it was not cool of the server to gaslight me. To her credit, she did take note of my request to not add blueberries and she was willing enough to have it remade. But now that I know that I was correct in that the drink does not normally include strawberries, I really do not appreciate that she essentially scolded me for "making a mistake" that I didn't make. Ultimately, I'd still recommend this location and the staff - because aside from that she was all smiles and very pleasant - but I would ask that next time they double-check their menu items before gaslighting their customers. read more

My wife and I went to this location during lunch rush on a Sunday in summertime. So basically as hectic as it gets in Wisconsin Dells. We were immediately seated and brought our drinks. The serving staff was excellent. Three different members of the staff helped us, all with big smiles. It was nice to see everyone working together. I hate to pull the racist card, so I won't flat-out say this establishment was racist. Instead, I'll explain my experience, and you can conclude. On 1/20/24, my friends and I entered Ihop for breakfast. There were about 16 of us. When we entered the establishment, the hostess asked if we wanted to sit together or have separate tables. We opted for different tables. Each table had four guest dining. Our waitress greeted us and informed us that we would be charged an 18% gratuity automatically to our bill. I was confused, and I asked our waitress why. She proceeded to say that we're a group of over six people. I always tip, so I really didn't care, but what I did care about was someone forcing me to tip and trying to lie to me and use their privilege to attempt to make me look like an aggressor. Each table had four diners. We came in as a group but dined separately for billing purposes. The waitress couldn't logically explain why they tried to force a gratuity on our tab. The waitress and manager tried to tell me it was because we knew each other and came in as a group. Again, there are four diners at different tables with different checks. I don't particularly appreciate it when people try to insult my intelligence. Again the manager tried to tell me there was an automatic gratuity for parties of six or more. After being talked to as if I was an incompetent toddler, I finally just asked the waitress and the manager, "Are you trying to ensure you get your tip?" Guess what her response was? Yep, you guessed it, she said yes. She said yes and then stated, no worries, you'll enjoy your experience. She lied. The food was cold and incorrect. Since we were four diners at four different tables, we all received our food at various times. Mind you, I didn't want to eat here, Ihop is disgusting if you ask me. At the end of service, the bill came, and guess what? There were four diners on each bill with handwritten notes for gratuity. The restaurant couldn't add the gratuity to our bill automatically because, again, there were four diners at four tables with four different receipts. Luckily, we had cash :-). If you choose a job that pays under minimum wage, that is your decision. Don't try to force anyone to pay you more than your company. Again, I'm a great tipper, but I don't particularly appreciate being insulted. It's illegal, and you all should be careful because you'd be sued for things like this. I didn't want to end up on anyone's news channel and be labeled "that person." However, I refuse to be treated as a low-class person in society. I will never support Ihop again; their food is mediocre, and the service is trash. If you choose to, please proceed cautiously, especially if you're a group of American citizens dining in. read more

Tres Leche Pancakes: My friends and I stopped at IHOP for brunch to start our Dells vacation out with a carby bang. I've wanted to try these limited edition pancakes from the "international" menu for a few months now. The pancakes are described on the menu as "four buttermilk pancakes layered with vanilla sauce and dulce de leche caramel sauce. Crowned with whipped topping." These pancakes were an epic fail. Just look at the picture from the menu vs what I received. The sauce is barely visible on the actual pancakes and what really pissed me off is that the pancakes were not "layered" with it as described. Only the top most pancake had a pathetic amount on it as most of it ended up on the plate creating a caramel soup. My pancakes were not even "crowned" with whipped topping. It had fallen off because of the way the waitress handled the dish (which she did apologize for and I readjusted to try making the pic look a little better). Although the pancakes had an ugly appearance they did taste okay. I was reminded a little of the weather's caramel candies as I ate it. IHOP offers other pancakes that are much better, so I can't recommend selecting these, even if you are a fan of caramel and vanilla like me. After finding that Mr. Pancake (the local pancake shop in the 'Dells) was closed for the off-season, this became my second choice. Lots of area to park in. I imagine it's going to get busy during the summer months. Lots of prompt attention when I was there. The waitress was very friendly, and nobody even gave me a side-eye for getting soda at 7AM. (Seriously, I just had a craving for it) Food tasted good as well. I had the Chocolate, Chocolate Pancakes, and they were delicious and warm. Served quickly as well. I even requested sugar-free syrup, and they had that too. The waitress was working with a couple other tables, and she even offered to get them coffee-to-go as they were finishing up with their meals. I'm confused by the negative reviews for this restaurant. We were there at 8:30 on a thursday morning, during the off season, and were very satisfied. The waitress was excellent, the food was well prepared and hot when it arrived barely 10 minutes after we placed our order. The restrooms were very clean and parking adequate in their own lot. We we surprised by the number of other diners, which is a good thing. There was plenty of staff and they did everything great. Hard to believe that this is the same place that got so many negative reviews. I RARELY give five stars, but this restaurant deserves it. When in the area, we will stop in again! read more

We ate here during our weekend getaway to the Dells. We were looking for somewhere that was open for breakfast, and it seemed to be slim pickens with the time of year (January) and many places only operating seasonally. I love IHOPs pancakes, and since the all you can eat pancake promo was going on, it was win/win. The waitress we had was GREAT. I wish I had paid attention to her name. She explained the promo when she first came over (we already knew about it, but it was nice to have that "advertised"), she was very attentive, checked on us often. Had a party of 15 and only had to wait 10-15 min even with it being very busy. Our server, Anastasia, was really good. She was attentive to our groups needs and handled it appropriately and quickly. Food came out in a timely fashion and everything was correct. The only issues we had was the area (table top amd under the table) was not clean and there was a hair in my pancakes. So gross but Anastasia apologized, let her manager know and got me a fresh order right away, no problem.
