Don't let the fear of failure discourage you from taking this course because there is much to gain regardless! Also, don't be intimidated by the Harley-Davidson brand; the staff are all super friendly and helpful!! The beginner's course is about $100 on weekdays and $200 on weekends. They're both 3-day courses (nearly all day each day) with day 1 in the classroom, day 2 on the range with hands-on practical skills training, and the last day reserved for the exams (written and practical skills). The time commitment is real, but it's very much worth it. If you pass the class, you will receive a certificate which will allow you to bypass the skills portion of the test at the DMV when you're seeking licensing. It also grants you discounts with your bike insurance! As someone who has never ridden a motorcycle (or even a dirt bike!), I had a lot to learn through this course. It's taught exactly for people like me with absolutely zero knowledge or experience with motorcycles. The instructor will go through every part of the handbook with you and clarify anything you may not understand. The handbook covers motorcycle operation, road safety, proper attire, and much more. Even if you are an experienced rider, I highly recommend taking this course anyway. You will absolutely benefit by learning new statistics, fine-tuning your riding skills, and gaining potentially new information about road safety and the specific kinds of awareness you should have as a bike rider. I have been driving a car for years, but I learned that the extra mindfulness you need to safely ride a motorcycle was on another level. Even while driving a car, I feel as though I have benefitted from the lessons. The instructors are thorough, friendly, and caring. However, that doesn't mean you'll breeze through it (especially if you're a new rider). They will spend extra time with you if needed, as time allows, but they need to stay on schedule for the sake of other students. I found the second day of hands-on learning to be challenging. As mentioned, I have no experience on a motorcycle at all. Plus, I am short in stature, which may have been a disadvantage, if not physically, at least for my confidence. I made it through about 80% of the practical lessons before I hit my plateau and couldn't keep up with the advancement in skills. At that point, I couldn't meet the objectives to move on to the next lesson, so I failed this course, but I do not regret taking this class at all. This was a perfect introduction to motorcycles and I know I need more practice. I plan to take it again a second time, and I feel I could probably pass next time! One thing to note, they never push you to buy their products while taking this course at all, so zero pressure to buy anything if you're not interested!

I met the two guys who work there, Roger and Ryan (or is it Bryan?). I ride a 2003 Harley 1200 Custom. Anyways, I had an issue with my exhaust head studs and exhaust gaskets. For some reason when I had taken off my pipes, the flange nuts wouldn't go back on or they'd get loose real quick. Also had a problem with my front caliper, it would seize and the pistons inside it wouldnt work regardless of a rebuild kit. I usually do my own maintenance but I couldn't fix the problem due to the complexity of the job, plus I didn't have the time. If I would have went to the Harley dealership, they'd tell me i'd have to get Brembo brakes and that'd cost me a great deal as well as fixing my exhaust/pipe problem would cost me another ridiculous amount. Overall, with the front caliper and the exhaust/gasket problem, I paid $280. Sounds a lot but all the other places that would give me a quote was a lot higher. Plus, i got a new brake-line and had my Carburetor checked out just in case there was any problems.

The "national brand" shop said they did not have a clue what was wrong and thought it could be an alignment issue but they don't have the equipment to check it. Another local shop of some reputation just said "its not too bad so just ride it until it breaks and then we will know what to fix." I found CCC pretty much by accident online, and went there to talk to them. Roger was very helpful and sure they could fix it. I took it in, and Bryan and I talked a while about what it was doing. I left it with him and it was fixed the next day. I am so glad to have my bike back running well. I won't go into detail about what the problem was but Bryan found it and fixed it when two other prominent shops would not even take it in and try. I have another Harley with an electrical problem and it is going to CCC on Monday.

Buyer beware With FX…read morerecommended by Moto Julia for working on older BMWs, I bought what I thought to be a good deal from a good mechanic. I believed I was purchasing the exact bike I had been searching for; turned out to be quite the project bike I didn't really want. I currently kind of feel stuck with a money pit of a motorcycle that Dave said was good, ready to go, and he would ride across the country as is... I soon learned to consider it unsafe in the condition it was and have found multiple roadside stranding type issues since purchasing. It has been stranded in my driveway more than once with, intially, an officially tested bad, failed battery and then a completely worn out starter motor. I was able to get it running again for a few hundred dollars in replacement parts, and a lot of work on my part. These are not the only problems I have been finding but the only ones that left the bike unable to start at all. I am hopefully only looking at around $2k to get it to where I think I can ride it to British Columbia and back, like I did on one of my former older in far from perfect type of shape BMW bikes. The point is I'm having to work and spend $ on this bike a lot more than I'm riding it when I was told it was good to go as is... Be very careful and know what you are doing or bring someone who does. I'm uncovering more and more issues with and cheap parts installed in this bike as I get work on the other potential problems, that I had voiced concerns about when I was buying it (that Dave said were normal charateristics for this type of motorcycle to have). #1 was slack in drivetrain - which may or may not need serious repair - some owners online have said they have lived with "the drive clunk" for many miles on their R1150 models - others have rebuilt shaft, bearings, and splines throughout the drivetrain to remedy, = $$$ Beware of vehicle purchases without clear mechanical certainty of what you are buying. Be thorough and don't let your excitement get the better of your judgement. Really inspect every detail when purchasing from here and don't take their word for it just because they are mechanics. I do like the bike and believe I can eventually fix all its issues I'm discovering but I probably won't be using Fx to do any more of the work on it. The repairs I did have done there were grossly underestimated, and I was charged 12hrs at $119.00/hr instead of the quoted 4-6hrs. Otherwise, Dave is very friendly and helpful, as is the woman working the front desk. Going by other reviews, maybe they are better with the scooters but I don't advise going there for BMW repairs/service.
