I am extremely disappointed with my experience with IGS Solar. From the very beginning, their customer service has been beyond poor--unresponsive, unhelpful, and clearly designed to frustrate you into giving up. When I purchased my home on January 31, 2022, I also took over the existing solar lease. IGS never informed me that I needed to connect the system to my utility provider, Duke Energy. As a result, for six months I was unknowingly paying both the solar lease and full electricity bills--essentially wasting over $700 because the solar system wasn't contributing any power. I only discovered this after reaching out with my first complaint. Fast forward to June 2024: a solar panel failed. I contacted IGS multiple times, provided photo evidence and an inspection report from their own technician--but nothing has been repaired. It's now April 2025 and the system is still not fixed. What pushed me to write this review is the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. The storm damaged my roof, specifically under the solar panel mounts. This caused a leak and created soft spots in the roofing structure. I've contacted IGS numerous times to report the issue and request they send an inspector or arrange for panel removal so I can repair my roof. They've done nothing. Meanwhile, roofing companies and independent solar contractors have refused to help because the lease is tied up with IGS, leaving me stuck with active water damage and faulty panels. This has been an incredibly stressful, expensive, and frustrating experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering a solar lease through IGS Solar to think twice. Scummy salespeople with horrible sales tactics. There was a rep that approached our front door, sharing the benefits of adding them onto your Duke Energy bill. I am fortunate that I read the terms and conditions before signing, but I was astonished at how negatively this company was reviewed. If you signed with them, federal law allows you 3 business days to cancel without paying any fees (and yes, they will charge you those). If you signed in Ohio, state law allows 7 business days to cancel before you are charged. Do not sign with them if you value your money. I fortunately canceled with them no more than 10 minutes after signing. The only positive thing I can say about the company is that it is relatively easy to cancel. read more

IGS Energy-Don't discriminate-Collector 2 role- so I interviewed for this role which showes and the recruiter stated pays 30 to 61 or 62,000 per year starting out. So I bid under the 61 year. Had over 10 years in collections/ AR/ AP and credit. So I was more than qualified for the role. I requested 28hr (makes since) they offer 25? I counter at 27hr. Recruiter claims the 61 yr was for management? I wasnt asking for 61 or 62. They withdrew my offer? This company is trash. IGS rates are over twice as much as several others. There are dozens of companies out there. It is tough to research all of them, but IGS is one the most expensive out there and fooled me into a 3 year contract with a $199 cancelation fee. They have sent sales people out to my house twice in the last two months to push and sell. This is in addition to phone calls. They are very experienced in targeting working class neighborhoods like mine in Ohio. Do your research and don't get fooled like I did. read more

If I could give a NEGATIVE rating, I would. I also switched to IGS in November in order to save money to help the environment by using clean energy. I received the bill for December and to March and it was practically double of what was paid for in previous years. I checked the ccf and kw used and it wasn't significant of a difference. I also called to cancel and was advised of the termination fee to cancel early which I will be charged a $200 cancellation fee for gas and electric when I was told there would be at no cost to cancel and that my bill would not change. It will be up to two months before the cancellation took affect. They were supposed to be cheaper they Duke Energy and, after comparing their rates VS Duke, Duke energy is much cheaper. I agree with Barry...Do Not Use IGS.. DO NOT USE IGS. Their customer service said "Did you read the contract before signing?" I was not at all pleased on how they led the consumer wrong, how they handled the call and scammed even more the "promise". My average bill DURING COVID was $140. With IGS it was $245. The delivery fee per electric and gas was NOT disclosed during the salesman visit. That is roughly $42 for gas and $78 for electric. The "usage rate" is cheaper at IGS but then they tag the delivery fee that Duke does not charge. The term of contract is 36 months. read more

When dealing with customer service representatives, it is like playing the lottery, you never know what you are going to get. When I called IGS, I had the sweetest, most helpful woman on the other end of the phone. I explained my confusion with my bill. She went through all of my questions in depth and made sure I thoroughly understood. She explained the different portions of the bill and what meant what. She did not seem in a rush to get off the phone, like you are often get, but she was determined to make sure I understood. I have a good feeling already about choosing IGS. read more

They come to your door and tell you your rates will be less than Duke. They will not be. They tell you that there is no cancellation fee, but there is. A man came to my door and claimed to be from the electric company my house uses (AEP). He claimed my account was flagged and I needed to verify some information in order to get my rate lowered. Afterward, we received emails saying we had switched to IGS Energy. We never consented to any change or had any knowledge this man was representing IGS Energy. This company committed fraud by falsely representing itself as a different company. I was quickly able to get it canceled threw my actual electric company. This is a scam! read more

He hid the pages on his ipad where we signed and when we discovered he lied about the rates we canceled. Afterwards we were billed a cancelation fee. IGS purchased Dominion Energy Services which held my account. They honored the rate I was paying. Supposedly they sent me letters about their rate plan and my account with Dominion expiring. I don't recall any such communication. I cancelled service with IGS. Supposedly it takes a month or two to honor my request of cancelling service. IGS blames PECO. Coincidentally, once I cancelled service my rate doubled. According to the phone representative, I was now under a variable rate because I didn't respond to their letter...the one I don't recall receiving. I was also told by the representative that IGS does not have a variable rate, only fixed rates. So, I'm guessing the variable rate placed upon my account was a form of financial pressure to sign up for IGS with their crazy cancellation fee. I'm certain if I signed up they could have changed service that day, unlike cancellation where it takes a month or two (at double the rate) to effectively cancel service. I never authorized service with IGS. However, they are of the belief that I received some kind of communication via mail of which may have detailed a variable rate (which they don't offer!) or ending of my contract (which I didn't have with IGS) or some other information I can't relay because I've not seen a letter. Consequently the result of all this is to provide me a rate that was double of what I previously paid unless I lock into their current fixed rate for a year with a $199 cancellation fee. read more

I have been an IGS customer for 4 years now. I enrolled in their home protection plan about a year and a half ago and I believe it's one of the best things we have for our home. Our furnace went out not to long ago and through the HP plan we were able to have someone come out and fix it with no cost to us. The bill was about $200 but since we had IGS we didn't pay a thing. Not only do I rave about the home protection but I also believe they have wonderful customer service. I know a lot of people aren't a fan of the whole door to door concept but IGS is truly different. They are respectable and courteous to your privacy and won't try to pressure you into a sale. If someone comes knocking on your door and they are IGS just give them a chance to talk to you. If you aren't interested then they will leave you alone. One more thing to mention is that they are very involved with their community. If you do get the chance to talk to a rep then ask them about their community involvement and you will be blown away. I know I was! read more

We have IGS' Home Warranty HVAC Systems Protection plan, it is only about 20 bucks a month but definitely worth it in the long run. I gave IGS a call and within hours they had someone out to our house to begin the repair process. They delivered on exactly what they promised and it didn't feel like a constant fight with them for coverage. Being that I worked in many customer service industry this is so very important to me. IGS' customer service is what really sets them apart from everyone else. I recently had what I believed to be an issue with my bill, so I gave IGS a call. Within moments, the representative had my recent bill and account pulled up and was able to explain what I thought to be an issue and we were able to resolve it - energy supply can be confusing! I recently had an IGS sales person stop to talk about my utility bills and what my options are. The sales person politely asked to see my bills to see what I was currently paying. He showed me how to read my bill, what numbers to look for, and the different units of measurements. I travel a lot for work, therefore I do not have crazy high utility bills. After looking at my bills and my current plan, he ultimately advised that the plan that I was on was the best for me and that their rates could not beat what I was currently paying. To say I was blown away by the honesty and transparency would be an understatement. So I recently had a gentleman by the name of "Douglas" stop at my home to offer me a fixed rate on my gas and electric bill also informed me of a home warranty program available to me. I just want to say I appreciate his knowledge, professionalism and kindness. I get solicitors all the time and I normally turn them away but he was very casually dressed with the company name on his shirt and a badge so I didn't have to second guess who he was or where he was from, that is a huge plus! And he was very knowledgeable explaining all of your available services to me in Lingo I understood plus his personality made him easy to say yes to! I think you should definitely count your company as blessed to have him aboard people like himself deserves recognition because they are hard to find anymore. You might win, but more than likely the house is going to win. After all, they have a lot more experience dealing in the commodities market than you do. You really think they're going to intentionally lock you into a rate not advantageous to themselves? After my dad died, I discovered my parents were locked into a high rate for natural gas. It may have been a decent rate at inception, but rates have fallen. Did IGS bother to adjust? Nope -- they just kept renewing year after year. They ended up ripping off a widow on a fixed income until their son that knows how to read a gas bill took over. They had the nerve to show up at her door the other day wondering why we dropped the contract. I explained it in no uncertain terms. IGS, while operating withing the boundaries of the law preys on people's fears with the uncertainty of utility bills. In my eyes, they are liars and thieves. Do yourself a favor folks, ride the market. A contract with IGS is a spin of the wheel. read more
