Mary Queen of Heaven fish fry was the first fry of the 2012 Lenten season and with nothing to…read morecompare it to except for my memory of other fries; I really enjoyed my fish sandwich, fries and cole salw ($7.75) and beer ($2). The fish wasn't anything remarkable, but the fries are battered and the standout item for me was the homemade tartar sauce. The condiment stand is in the gym so you can get as much of it, ketchup and pickles as you please! I did not purchase any desserts, but I think they were able a dollar and looked terrific! Of course since Lent coincides with Girl Scout cookie season you're bound to be asked to buy cookies and any split the pot or fundraisers for the school/church. The seating is located in the gym and our group of 11 was able to squeeze around a long banquet table. We enjoyed watching the kids in costumes roam about as well as those not dressed deliver the orders called out by Tiny and the Codfather. Ben the beer guy sold beer right to your table so you didn't have to travel back out to the hallway for a beer, which is sold as you wait in line to place your order. Since I was sent in to grab a table, a friend went through the ordering process for me, but it appears to be seamless. Writing this review after attending several church/school fish fries, I will say this was one of the places with many kids running and I note this for those who don't realize these are family social outings and prefer to avoid these situations. Our group enjoyed the students' drawings and thoughts about Lent handing in the hallways :)

My husband and I are very impressed with MQH grade school. Our grandson loves school, has loved…read moreevery teacher he has had since kindergarten, and has learned well. The religious education is superb and truly orthodox, following the teachings of the Catholic Church. He feels loved and very much at home while he is at school. The children always look so neat and classy in their uniforms and seem to be very polite with no real discipline problems. So far we have been told by other parents that there hasn't been any true "bullying" at our school. We believe this to be true! We attend many class parties and events and the children seem to get along quite well and to interact as family. MQH offers Spanish, Art, and Computer Science together with religious studies, reading, social studies, science and math classes. We highly recommend MQH. We are both teachers. Grandma taught secondary education with a Master's degree and Grandpa was a college professor and administrator with a PhD in physics and math at major state universities.
