This shop is next to the Stationary store I came up to visit. Beautiful pottery by local Artisans. I was welcomed in by one of the shops owners who promptly asked me if I was there for the Mayor's Birthday... Max is his name and he is a beautiful Golden Retriever, sadly I was unaware of such an occasion but it is duly noted for next year. Gorgeous mugs, bowls and plates are here. If you are like me and prefer one-of-a-kind service ware, make your way up the mountain and peruse their offerings. I got this neat garlic grater that is so beautiful just grate the Garlic and then pour the olive oil into the same dish Voilà your good to go! They also offer pottery classes here as well. One item I wanted to purchase but refrained was the candle that had the scent of rain after it's initial descent on the earth Petrichor - there were 2 choices one with pine forest scent and one with wild flowers... they come in lovely pottery urns (not very large). If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate the bachelorette, that is sexy & risqué yet classy. This is not a stripper experience! No sweaty man grinding on your thigh. You are admiring the male physique from afar. Your model will be full on naked, & a few girls were shy, but in the end, everyone agreed it was definitely an experience worth having Contacting The Artful Bachelorette was easy & they were always so quick to respond & answer question. The class is 2 hours long & you get a teacher, ours was Violet, & a model, ours was Franco. They bring easels, paper, charcoal pencils. Make sure you have a speaker so you can get in the mood to unleash your inner artist with their soothing playlist. Franco is so handsome & sweet! & Violet guided us through several drawing techniques. A few in the group were already known artists but some of us were shy because, like me, I am not an artist. But we were all so pleased with our artwork thanks to the encouragement & teachings of Violet! Thank you Franco & Violet for such a cool experience, I will sure recommend Artful to all, especially because they have several locations throughout the US! & if you are in the LA county, make sure to ask for Franco & Violet for an amazing experience!

This isn't the first WFR course I've taken, and this time I took the 5-day course…read more Lecturer 5/5 As someone who has taught extensively, I can definitively say John has the WFR curriculum instructional methodology nailed down to a science. He takes the anatomy and physiology to tell a story around the mechanism, the signs and symptoms, anticipated problems, and treatment. This is the best integrated wilderness medicine course you'll ever take, hands down. You'll never memorize things for the sake of memorizing them, you're asked to practice practice practice. He blends the content with years and years of experiences and stories. These are life and death situations, so it would behoove you to come in with the right reverence around the work (not him, also I doubt he cares wha you think about him). He has the driest humor which I enjoyed, most people in the class chuckled at his jokes, I laughed pretty hard at times. It's not everyone's cup of tea, go figure. It was fascinating reading the two-star review from someone with huge insecurities and an ego - "he has my money and so I have to grovel" - that wasn't my experience. I have worked in a university setting and know exactly what bullying looks like, and there was none of that here. If he had sarcasm because you asked a stupid question (sorry snowflakes, there is such a thing!), it probably was derailing the course and keeping everyone around later in the evening, he's not ridiculing, just looking at you puzzled by why you asked a stupid question. Dorms: 3/5 Idyllwild Pines Camp is a great setting to learn in, housekeeping could've loaded the toilet paper so they weren't empty and required us to hand rip from the rolls. There was mold in the caulking of the bathroom tub, but there was warm water. The full sized mattresses were decent, the twin bunks need to be replaced with something much more durable, you could feel the springs and I used a very well padded sleeping bag over them. Fireplaces were fantastic, having firewood stocked was great. Class Equipment 2/5 There are definitely things I would've liked to have seen (e.g. newer equipment) but they were all serviceable nonetheless

The course covered topics that were glossed over by my previous instructors. I really feel that John didn't cut any corners, and I took a lot away from the class.

She enjoyed the rocket launch, stargazing, zip line, and the lift up into the tree. First true experience away from home without family like many others. She only had good things to say about the staff and food options. Luckily no bed bug issues like prior reviews. Shout out to Beatrice for being awesome with the kids! -2 stars for the bathroom/shower situations. It doesn't sound like there are many bathrooms for the amount of kids there. She mentioned some being clogged and feeling rushed due to several others needing to use the bathrooms. There were so many activities that she felt like there weren't many breaks to use the bathroom. In her dorm there were only 2 bathrooms/showers. They got back late after 9pm and rushed to squeeze people through to shower. People were barging in having to use the bathroom as others showered. Apparently the shower curtain was so minimal, another girl used an extra bed sheet to help create privacy, which all the girls appreciated. Maybe add a couple port-a-potties?! Might be wrong, but also sounded like not many trustworthy sources for water and hydration outside of meal time.

The staff was amazing! Patient, fun, and great with the kids. Lincoln, Scout, Spencer, and Steve were favorites. The food was easily the best camp food we've had. They had their day of helping with setup and cleanup which taught teamwork. Activities were nonstop fun with zipline, Skycoaster, rockets, stargazing, climbing, and even microgravity in the pool. The chaperone lounge with Wi-Fi, coffee, and snacks was a lifesaver. Big shoutout to Josh, the director, for keeping everything running smooth. AstroCamp has been an awesome experience both times. Highly recommend!
