I used to be an avid supporter of the Good Dog Center but not after this year. I spent A LOT of…read moremoney there with my three dogs. Specially in grooms... I paid for a class to take my Brittany because while I've been working with him, he's still pretty distracted by other dogs so I thought maybe a class where we could work would be good & safe. The trainer pushed the prong collar so hard that I was very uncomfortable the the idea of continuing the class. I tried talking with them and was told basically "tough luck." $145 down the drain, the fee was nonrefundable, as I pulled my dog from the class. I wish I would have known their pro-prong collar stance before I signed up- I would have never signed up then. I started hearing rumors about the one groomer having a hard time with dogs and lashing out (hitting) at them (the dogs). I reached out to once again address the issue & see what was going on as that particular groomer was the one that handles & grooms my dogs. Instead of calling me and talking, I was blocked and then received a phone call from the Owner Carmen letting me go for spreading rumors and false information. I found out the groomer in question is her son... I will never recommend them ever again.

I need help because I am beside myself, and I don't know what I can do! I took my 5-month-old…read moreLabradoodle puppy to the Good Dog Center in Decorah, Iowa for Puppy Kindergarten, and after only one class I wanted my money back, but it was nonrefundable. The instructor Ellen Drewes-Stoen told me I could not teach my puppy to walk beside me on a hardness and a short lease because all they do is pull. She said I have to use a collar, she also said I could not tie my dog out (we live on a farm, and when I am working outside; I can't let him run loss because we live by a high traffic road. I called the owner (Carmen Hurley), and explained it is not working out, and the only thing she could come up with was a different class that was on a day that didn't work for me, or she could talk to Ellen. I went to class after the owner talked to Ellen, and it was better, but the next class was back to the same. Ellen started with the collar again also said my voice was too deep to teach my puppy, and Purina Puppy Chow is the worse puppy food. I called to the owner again, but to no end (she said she would talk to Ellen again). Needless to say, I am not going back, but now I am out $145.00 for nothing. Linda Lamaack

I selected/purchased 3 service dog prospect pups from Ridgeview Labradors over the years and each…read moreof the three succeeded magnificently with their partners. I have found RIdgeview easy to work with -- their pups come with great thought to breeding and for each of their three areas -- service dogs, hunting dogs and companion/pet dogs. They provide such great exposures to sights, sounds, scents and surfacts from young ages, helping set a foundation for continuing the raising/socializing/training I put in before placement and ongoing support for service dog clients. This breeder is the only one I agreed to acquire a puppy beyond 14 weeks of age because of the commitment they make to the sorts of exposures puppies have to develop into resilient, easy to train and lovely to live with dogs.

We recently adopted a dog from Ridgeview Labs. The dog is great, but when we got home and had our…read morevet give him a wellness check the dog had a severe yeast infection in both ears and we are waiting for possible skin alergy diagnosis. I called Ridgeview, Ohio two weeks ago and have not heard a word back. I wasn't asking for any money I just wanted to let them know. I am also very disappointed with the training. I paid an additional $900 for the Extended Training and our dog has never heard 85% of the commands on the printout sheet they gave us. I would still recommend them for a dog, but I would not waste your money on the training or lack of it. I searched everywhere for dogs in the 5 month old range and they were the only place I could find. We came from Massachusetts to Ohio.
