That said, it doesn't feel like a library either (which was an issue in an office I worked at previously) - the low-key bustle of the place provides the perfect backdrop to feel like you're working amongst dozens of your peers, even if your company is based thousands of miles away like mine. And, crucially, the Wi-Fi never falters. The perks are also awesome - free coffee, tea, seltzer, and loads of snacks put out in the common kitchen area. You've got to be quick, because things sometimes get snatched up, but all the freebies give you a great reason to get up, stretch your legs, and see what's new to munch on. Also, every Wednesday they host a quick, 15-minute CrossFit WOD which is cool if you're into that. And there's a shower down the hall that's great for cleaning up if you do the WOD or commute in by bike. All in all, this is a fantastic spot to get work done happily and comfortably. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Olga and Joan were excellent and they were very helpful. The conference room has large open windows and a view of Cambridge. NGIN is not sterile, the colors are bright yet comfortable, it's got great vibes, modern yet with a flare. The kitchen area was well stocked with healthy snacks. I didn't check out their fridge, but I heard they are to die for! The staff was friendly and facilities were awesome. They have flexible rental that includes day passes, so if you are in town for a short time for a visit, you can use their space instead of forking out a whole month of rent and paperwork, who needs that, really? I've worked in a bunch of shared workspaces and I am super impressed with NGIN. You get a lot and not have to pay a lot. Every time I was there, I didn't have a hard time looking for street parking, which is a plus because if you go further down in Kendall, parking gets scarce. NGIN is across from Tatte for coffee/dessert and next door is Mulin, yummy Taiwanese food. Not to mention Lord Hobo, one of my fav local beer spot. And you can't go wrong with Emma's pizza, Hungry Mothers, Blue Room, etc. You are also close to Cambridge's groovy Central Square and eclectic Inman Square with a huge selection of ethnic food, vegetarian restaurants, bars, gyms, etc. I would highly recommend the space for work, fun, play and hangout. Check it out for yourself.

This is definitely the nicest co-working space you could ever join. Not only that they have multiple locations in he Boston area, each location has multiple floors. Each floor has offices, dedicated desks, phone booths and conference rooms of all sizes. Additionally, they are all equipped with top notch facility. You can book conference room through an online system. Conference rooms are equipped with TV and telephones for all business and presentation purposes. Another great thing about CIC is the system of kitchen and snack. Each floor has an amazing kitchen that is always fully stocked with energy bars, snacks, fruits, icecream, yoghurt, milk, coffee, tea and soda drinks from tap. Each floor kitchen's food is different, which pushes the members to mingle in the space. In a startup environment, network is the most important, which was indeed understood by the organizers of the place. Lastly, CIC has 2 co-working space. The one at the Cambridge location is called C3, which is geared towards more tech startups. The co-working space at the Boston location (Downtown Crossing) is called The Impact Hub, which is geared towards startups with social impact. Both have amazing facility of table, desks (including standing desks), conference rooms, mail address and free printing service. Since the Impact Hub locates on the 17th floor, the space is filled with nature light and a great view upon Boston. This has to be the best thing to look at while taking a break from running your startup. It's also full of entrepreneurial and active vibe from young passionate people. In addition to providing a space, they also organize community events where members can join and mingle. A few examples are 5k running, yoga, networking etc. every Wednesday at the Hub, they organize a community lunch. Last but not least, the staffs that is responsible for hosting are extremely nice and helpful. They give you a free tour, a free trial pass and always follow up with all the answers to your questions. If you can't afford a private office place yet, this is definitely the affordable yet helpful alternative for young startups. Another perk is that it's right at downtown Boston. Everything is around! Literally everything!

It's all cubicles and private offices. There is a nice kitchen with coffee and two fridges. The internet comes from a fiber connection and is 50 Mbit down (fast enough) and 50 Mbit up (much faster than you usually see.) And for those of you who care about latency, the ping is only 2 ms which is super fast. Geek Offices is a bit of a time machine. It's like the old days before super pretty shared offices with tiny tables and tiny boxes of an office. No. Here you get big private cubes with plenty of space. Nice offices with plenty of room. And yeah, you're renting from the guy who owns the building. He's very responsive and flexible. It's his building and he's happy when it serves people's needs. The offices are on the lower level. Some of the offices have high windows, but overall this is not a place with lots of natural light. The cubes and furniture aren't new, but they're in good shape and they get the job done. There are showers and bathrooms right across the hall. You get 24-hour access with a key card, and privates offices lock. And more time machine...there is parking. A lot of parking. It isn't cheap, but hey, where can you get parking just two blocks from Inman Square? There's even visitor parking. Whoever has that? Now if anyone would actually visit you in person, they could go right ahead and park for free. Really, this is a place to work. Get stuff done. Heads down. Just you or a small team. Then get lunch in Inman Square. Sometimes going back to the future works just fine. Oh, one more thing. The rental terms are incredibly flexible. You pay for the month. You can leave with as low as one day's notice. For example, you decide on December 30th that you need to leave. You give notice on the 31st. You can leave the next day. You don't owe anything. Having become familiar with cowkorking spaces in Philadelphia like the very awesome Indy Hall, I…read morethink I became too comfortable in what I imagined a space to be. I wanted to work from a space in Boston a few months ago, and gave Workbar's new-ish Cambridge location a try. But whereas Indy Hall is an inspirational, creative space full of amazing people who make you feel at home in their community, Workbar is much less so. In fact from what I can remember, only one person one their staff spoke with me during my entire week there, and almost reluctantly so. It was a huge shock coming form a city where most people in the coworking space try very hard to make others feel included and supported. Quite honestly, Workbar feels less like a coworking space and more like a real, regular working space The downstairs area, where I spent most of my time, tries to be a hip cafe, with long communal tables and music playing. This does not, however, appear to translate into the kinds of transient conversations between strangers you might find in an actual cafe. Meanwhile, the upstairs feels like a cubical farm without any cubicles, with long work tables full of people quietly tapping away and conference rooms lining the outer walls. It actually felt uncomfortable to walk through, like I was invading an actual company's prviate space. It was uninviting and a little unnerving. Maybe spaces like this in Boston are meant for Very Serious Startup Workers funded by Large, Important Venture Funds. If that's the case and that's the environment you're looking for, then by all means, give Workbar a try. But if you're not into the sterile, quietcore worker scene and go to coworking spaces to interact with other people, you might just want to work from a cafe instead.
