My boyfriend and I were debating where to get coffee (we're usually Endless Quest people), but…read moresince I've been yelping more, I've been trying to branch out. This spot popped up pretty high, and funnily enough, my boyfriend--who doesn't live locally--had actually heard of it from a previous visit, so we decided to go for it. Right off the bat: huge win on logistics. There's a nearby parking garage with ample space, and parking is free on Sundays and holidays, which already put us in a good mood. The place was packed when we went (Sunday), but in the best way. It's honestly adorable--there's a small playground, multiple seating areas, and everything feels very thoughtfully put together. I don't usually gush over ambiance, but the furniture, layout, and overall warmth of the space really stood out. Cozy without being cramped, lively without being chaotic. There were three people working, one of them quite young, and while we didn't order food, I did get a matcha--and wow. It took a while to come out, but when I saw how they were preparing it, it all made sense. Unlike most high-volume spots that rush matcha, they actually take their time with the full process. The result? Easily top 10 matchas I've ever had. Fresh, clean, energizing in a way that felt genuinely good for my body--not jittery, just right. They do have pastries and a couple of food options, though the savory options didn't really tempt me personally. That said, I'd 100% come back just for the drinks and the space alone. There's just enough white noise to sit and work comfortably, and the ambiance makes you want to stay awhile. This is officially going into my coffee + work rotation.

Upon arriving I realized the namesake is because parents are welcome to bring their kids for a communal play area (which does have an entry fee). It looked like a lot of kids were having a blast, so I already have recommended this cafe to parent friends!

We enjoyed the pony Rose. She had an amazing temperament. All the kids were excited to see and ride Rose. I highly recommend them for your child's party!! The owner, Catherine was wonderful. She worked with me to come up with a package that fit my budget and daughter's party wish. They take PayPal, cash or check. I have two pieces of feedback. First, I would recommend is having a cancellation policy or two way contract to ensure customer and owner are protected. For example, if the pony is sick and can't show or the customer cancels last minute, it's nice to have something like that in place. Second, I would have costs listed on the website for different options with descriptions of the package. We will be using them again for my neice's party!

One of my favorite parks as a kid, and now one of my favorite parks to bring my own kids to…read more Péri Park in Fairfax has a calm, tucked-away neighborhood feel with giant redwood trees, lots of shade, and a softer energy than bigger playgrounds in Marin. Quick guide below. One thing I really love is that it has separate little kid and big kid play areas. Sometimes parks with toddler sections accidentally make the older-kid area feel boring... but not here. The bigger playground is still genuinely fun and adventurous for older kids too. The toddler playground is designed for ages 1-5, while the larger play structure is designed for kids ages 5-12, which makes this a really good option for siblings with different age ranges. There's also a shallow creek behind the park that families bring their kids to explore. It's only a couple inches deep in some areas, so children can safely splash around and play in the water while parents supervise nearby. That little creek honestly feels like part of the magic of this place. The park also has swings, climbing structures, slides, picnic tables, and enough space for kids to explore without the entire area feeling chaotic or overstimulating. ------ QUICK GUIDE Good for: * Toddlers (ages 1-5) * Bigger kids (ages 5-12) * Siblings with different ages * Slower nature-style park days * Families looking for shade What matters: * Playground: yes -- separate little kid + big kid areas * Shade: YES. Giant redwoods throughout the park * Seating: benches + picnic tables * Bathrooms: available onsite * Creek access: yes -- shallow creek nearby for supervised water play * Parking: neighborhood street parking * Terrain: wood chips/dirt-style playground surface * Dog-friendly: not inside playground area ------ Pro tip: Bring extra clothes if your kids want to play in the creek afterward.

There's a well maintained baseball field and batting cage on one side of the creek. On the other, there are tennis courts, a playground, and a nice shady area to unwind. From the moment we stepped on campus I could tell it was going to be a great summer. I wanted to stay and go to camp. My kids had a ball. Everyday was an adventure and they loved the photo slide show at the end of each day. I loved it too as I got to see what they did throughout the day. The best part about Camp Doodles is the Camp Counselors. They are all amazing and seem to truly enjoy the kids and the work they do. My kids were sad when the summer came to an end with it camp. We couldn't wait a whole year to go back and so were thrilled to see they offered Winter Camp Doodles over the school break. My kids slipped right back into the camp routine without skipping a beat. They are signed up again for this summer and keep asking how long until camp starts. As a working mom, it makes me feel good to know my kids are excited about where they will spend their day and I can't wait to hear all the stories each afternoon. I also think it is worth mentioning that Doodles is especially good for the younger campers. I was not worried about my kids getting lost in a crowd of older kids. The campers are put in age appropriate groups and with plenty of activities to choose from within in their age group. Water play day and bicycling days were especially popular with my kids. Did I mention the camp songs? Good times. We can't say enough about Camp Doodles and look forward to another great summer there. Can you Doodle?

It is about 1/2 mile walk through a very serene neighborhood. It's clean and fresh atmosphere with play equipments , climbing rock sculptures, a stone bear in a sandbox and picnic tables. The creek offers a burbling sound while traveling along the beds over rocks and tree roots. A lot of trees surrounding the park give the park a feeling of a rain forest. A Tepee jungle gym and a canoe offer a make believe Indian scene plus a full size sculptured bear lurking steadily on a sandbox. There are portable bathrooms at this park but they were very gross and dirty when I was there. The creek is a nice part of the park. However, there was no water in it. There is a splash pad, which wasn't working. The playground is small and I could see kids getting bored with it quickly. There are wood chips underneath the playground. There are swings at this park. The grassy area is somewhat small and is not well maintained. The baseball fields appear to be in good condition. This park was underwhelming and I won't return. Have fun out there. -Dadzone
