I was released to see an optometrist for new glasses. I went to my optometrist and he would not issue me a new prescription because of excessive swelling still. After 2 1/2 more months of treatment and thorough, extensive testing, he diagnosed that I had a genetic disorder that was putting me blind. I should never been operated on without the extensive exams that my optometrist did and should definitely not have been released without thorough examination at which the extreme edema would have been found.

The new ophthalmologist that I went to was horrified that they did not do more to inform me or try to fix the damage that they did! We also met with an advisor who discussed the particulars like cost, recovery, etc. While surgery appointments were only available on Fridays, I was able to get in within the month. While I was incredibly nervous when I arrived, the staff was patient and knew their role in the surgery process very well. The surgery lasted less than 15 minutes and I was able to see without issue within hours. It's now been seven months since my surgery and I have perfect vision. No more contacts or glasses.
