Was told they would do the diagnostic and that's all I would have to pay for but instead they kept the truck for a week did repairs and then called us and told us to come in with $1500 after already given them $400 to get my truck. After the fact He told us that he Wouldn't do a diagnostic and not fix something. Basically said once he tears it down, he is going to fix something. I Told them on multiple occasions we needed to know how much it was going to cost upfront to even see if we could afford fixing the truck. After questioning Tom the owner he said that's not the way I do business if it's broke, I fix it. I bill you. . He currently has our 1969 truck locked in his shop Holding it for ransom and said he will not give it back until we pay him in full and If not he will put a mechanics lien against it. He said If I try to come and get it, he said he will call the law and report it is stolen. This guy is an asshole. I do not recommend taking your vehicle to this guy, you may not Get it back. FYI, I've been carrying that truck around for over 30 years in the military To give to my son that's in the Navy just for one guy, Tom, and this business to steal it because they know he didn't have $1500 to pay for the truck. What a piece of work he is to take advantage Of a situation not to mention two veterans. I hope he gets blacklisted from all military.

I used to recommend Wilhite's but recently I took my 2017 in there for a diagnostic but they…read moreinformed me that they do not have the equipment for anything newer than 2013. Evidently they are satisfied working older cars. So I will go elsewhere.

Don't do it, go somewhere else!…read more Quote to get 5.3 Liter truck motor rebuilt, and delete the DOD Fuel management system. Truck ran great before oil pump went out. Quoted 2500 and 200 for a tune and 2 weeks to rebuild the motor. Pulled it out, brought it in. Bugged them for 7 weeks before I got my motor back. When I installed, was missing a bunch of hardware like manifold bolts etc so had to buy new. (if you saw the shop you would understand how they got lost) Installed and trailered it down there for the tune (I live 50 miles away, so each trip I mention was trailering or multiple trip for a ride back) Waited around all day for the tune, finally calls me at 4:30 tells me Cats are plugged, O2 sensors all bad, plug wires are bad, and it doesn't like the plugs. Office guy asks if he told me 300 or 400 for the tune.....I told him he told me 200. They offer to chop out the cats or I could remove them......I questioned putting new ones on, they said it wouldn't run right with the cats on with the DOD delete. Maybe should of told me that prior to saying they could do this job. Was very surprised that they offered to delete the cats since that is a bit illegal, but who knows. Trailered it all back home and did everything they said, another $400-$500 and brought it back for them to tune again (another trip). Truck ran like shit even after the second tune. This is a simple small block chevy, nothing fancy. Oil pressure is only 20 psi after warmed up and smelled like burnt oil when idling. Drove it like that for a few months and bottom of motor full of oil so I took it in told them has oil leak, its down to 15 psi oil pressure at idle. So they agree to warranty the pump and change the front seal under warrantee. They tell me to bring it in on a tuesday and they can work on it wednesday. Well tuesday they tell me to bring it in on Wednesday to work on it thursday, I already had a return ride (another trip) on tuesday, so i brought it down. Over two weeks later of nagging them every other day, they say its done By the was it still didn't run right. Put in idle going down the road and RPM's go up and down from 500 to 2500 rpm, rough idle etc, dies when pulling into parking spot while turning. I get there they tell me it was my Pham oil filter causing the oil pressure issue and they changed the oil and put on a filter and the pressure is great. They did change the seal. Then Ben hands me a $350 bill, never discussed before $60 for oil service and $290 for a MAF sensor I can get at Rockauto for $25. Said he didn't like how it ran so he replaced the MAF sensor and tuned some more. Again, old motor ran perfect with old cats, old O2 sensors, old wires, old MAF sensor etc. Truck runs some better now, but still doesn't idle right, and still idled at 20 psi oil pressure. Said fuel mileage would go up with the DOD delete, it has gone down about 2 mpg. Oh and after the magic Wix filter and oil got 1000 miles on it, I am back at 15 psi of oil pressure at idle and 25 psi going down the road. Don't do it, I now have $4500 into a $2500 rebuild. Could of bought a Jasper rebuilt motor cheaper than this. They talked about a warrantee on the motor initially, but the receipt basically says $2500 for motor rebuild........nothing at all about a warrantee.

Just save yourself the headache, does poor quality work.! Had a rebuild which he made me feel good…read moreabout then turns out it would be the next nightmare for the following year. Excuse after excuse. Wasting my time going in and telling me it has a tune. It was not the right one! Could not use my remote start cause the idle was way off, poor gas mileage oil leak cause one of his workers broke the dip stick. Took it back multiple times only to be told it was a loose valve cover. Mind you I have background in automotive just didn't have the time nor the shop anymore. Told to buy a throttle body cause that's the problem come to find out it needed new plugs in turn to find out he cross threaded one of them had to spend more money to fix that. Went back on everything he promised then tried to charge me more money. I could have saved more money going else where. Ruined my hood then blamed another place but upon further review and photos from the tow company it came back to Uncle Ricks doing it! Then lies after lies! All in all don't do it save yourself before making the mistake I did trusting a man of his word only to find out he doesn't honor his word or take responsibility for his wrong doings! DONT DO IT! Saving money will only cost you more here!!!! Sincerely fucked over and beat up from all the excuses and lies!
