This little gem caught me off guard. I was standing at the corner trying to find my way on Google maps when I noticed the awning. Its so unassuming from the outside. Inside is part bodega and part (now defunct) Universal Magazine. It packs a lot into such small real estate, the footprint of the store isn't very large but they make great use of vertical space. Seeing all the thick and glossies I haven't seen in years, gave me a big dose of nostalgia. It took me back to a time of 1cent tootsie rolls, 20 cent ice cream bars and stores like this on nearly every corner. I was a little bit disappointed by the customer service although the selection of magazines there is so amazing. There was a magazine that I wanted and it wasn't packaged therefore there were markings on it it, scratches and was dirty and the guy wouldn't give me a discount nor would go look in the back to see if they have one in packaging.. I really love the store I've Been there a few times but because of the customer service I give them two stars. They aren't very bubbly, they don't smile the vibes are kind of weird but again the magazine selection is truly good. read more

Mulberry Magazines have all the magazines you can imagine that are being published...great layout of the racks of magazines according to gossip, fashion, guns, cooking, gardening, sports etc...I purchased 3 magazines but they do not sell the FEDS magazine which I was anticipating they would have. One of the few remaining magazine stores left in Manhattan. They have a large selection considering the size of the store. They shrunk the display area of one side of the store that had magazines, but they moved them to the other side. The only problem is that some titles are now overlapping other titles making it hard to find. The employees are very helpful here so do not hesitate asking them what title you are looking for. This store also sells tobacco, candy, baked goods, beverages, vaping items, newspapers, lottery, and also some sandwiches. Check out this store, you wont be disappointed. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY. DON'T SPEND IT HERE!!!!! RUDEST WORKERS IN NOLITA!!!!!!! If I could give a negative rating, I would. This is by the far the worse store in the area. I purchased a vape pen in May and was told by the worker that I could exchange if did not work. I travel a lot for work so it wasn't until a few weeks after that I could come exchange it. Two incredibly rude workers made this experience miserable. One who I believe is named Sultan, told me that after that long, they can't exchange it. There is nothing that they can do about it. I asked to speak with the manager and they told me he was gone and only works 9-5 - it was a LIE. I came back the next morning at 9:10am, on my way to work, only to be told that the manager was not there. "He only comes tomorrow." So it went from 9-5 on weekdays to the weekend. The workers the following day; one of whom was also there the day prior, first start laughing at me when I asked for the manager. He told me that no store exchanges anything after that long (again, another lies). They were rude, condescending, and they kept doing is pointing to a sign that says no refunds. I once again explained that the guy who sold me told me I could; then they changed their tone to well, it is after 30 days. So now I am stuck with a 30$ vape. I will continue to write horrible reviews until this is addressed. Hire better workers that don't LIE. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Plenty of other smoke shops in the area, including one opening on Hester & Mulberry. read more

Carries most magazines but a little hard to navigate. If you ask, the people who work there will try to help you but there have been a couple of times that the people at the store gave me the wrong magazine (i.e. the right magazine from a different country) or said they didn't have a magazine only for me to eventually find it myself. Also would not recommend the food. One time I got a croissant and it was incredibly stale (completely inedible). read more

I live in the area and it's really hard to find affordable quick breakfast that's yummy and not packed with tourists/instagram fanatics. I often stop in for a bacon egg and cheese because they really kill it here. It's 4.50$, super filling and delicious. The cheese is always perfectly melted and the bagels are good, and they will toast it and add ketchup and salt and pepper if you ask. They also have tons of great snacks here that can be hard to come by like pocky! And lots of magazines if that's your thing. The people who work here are always so kind. I'm surprised this place hasn't been reviewed yet. I was looking for a super rare magazine I couldn't find ANYWHERE in the city went to over twenty places. I found it here and was so happy. I'll be returning soon. Most magazines are clean and in nice condition and they don't charge tax magazines which is a plus. If one costs 5.99$ then they ask for $6. Lots of variety. The service here was nice as well. Employees weren't rude and rushing like most places. read more

Wow, it looks like a bodega from the outside (and honestly, from the inside as well), so what kind of magazines could it really carry? I needed to gather some hip, artsy magazines for a work project and I seriously underestimated this store after a disappointing trip to McNally Jackson. Besides the usual Wallpaper, Monocle, Kinfolk, this place carries magazine from all over the world: Italian Vogue, British Harpers Bazaar, Australian Frankie. I went in for the Frank Ocean "Boys Don't Cry" zine (out of stock) and was pleasantly surprised with the shop. It looks like a bodega, on the outside, but do not be fooled. This place is a gem. i was in the area and stop by to see if they have available a french mag that is hard to find in the states and by chance it was in stock at 25 bucks which is ok cause my friend will be happy and thats fine with me. this corner magazine/convenience store has a huge selection of domestic and international mags and other reading materials. staff are friendly and helpful with a setup really organized from every genre available. when you think of mulberry st its usually all about little italy but you have other reasons to visit and this magazine shop is one of them. dont forget to grab a few lottery tickets before leaving cause you never know. read more
