Stone Hill Apartments

I lived a Stone Hill Apartments for about a year now, and this has to be the most caring place I've…read moreever lived. The most important part is their mantience. The apartments are old, so course there's going to be a few problems sometimes. My A/C went out on the fourth July, and Oscar was here in 10 minutes and it was fixed in under 5 minutes. He works fast and he's very friendly. My cat will get under his feet or sit in his way and Oscar will just talks to him nicely and moves around him. I have never waited longer than 24 hours (I never had to wait 24 hours either, I submit them at night and Oscar is here the next morning) for any maintenance request that I've submitted. The management is just as amazing. I mainly know Dani, but all that I've spoken to have been great. They always ask about how my cat is doing and the call him by his name. They are great with any help that you need. They're also very concerned with the safety of their residents. A couple a months ago, there was a man apparently knocking on people's doors. They had the cops in the area at all times during this and sent out emails, texts, and put a paper notice on all the doors. It told us not to answer our doors to a stranger and to immediately call the cops. I've seen on here that people complained about the pipes bursting in the water. The management does send out emails and texts every time the weather gets to the point to break the pipes. They tell you to make sure the water is dripping for all sinks and showers. I did that every time the sent it out and never had a problem with my pipes. The management will also check to see if the A/C maintenance requests were taken care of. The morning after Oscar very quickly fixed my A/C, I got a call for the management office to see if everything was fixed. My neighbors are fantastic. I have a cat that loves to sit at the window and my neighbors (that all have dogs) adore him. Our neighbors that got a new talkive puppy apologized for her dog, because she was very worried how my cat was responding. The best part? We cannot hear the dog and she lives right below us.

Whatever you do please DO NOT rent here! We've had repeated issues with our air conditioning, and…read morethis most recent experience has been incredibly frustrating. Even after maintenance said the system was repaired, our apartment continued to get uncomfortably hot inside. The AC was blowing air, but the indoor temperature kept rising instead of staying at the thermostat setting. We reported the issue multiple times through the resident portal and had maintenance come out more than once, but the problem was not resolved. We ended up having to stay in a hotel because our apartment became too hot to comfortably live in. The lack of communication and urgency was disappointing. As residents paying our rent on time, we expected the issue to be properly diagnosed and fixed instead of having to repeatedly report the same problem. Overall, this experience has been stressful and exhausting. I hope management improves both the quality of maintenance repairs and communication with residents, because no one should have to deal with ongoing AC problems during the Texas summer. Not only that but we moved in AFTER the renovation so tell me why when we got our keys we already had issues with things breaking this is absolutely the worst apartment I've ever rented at, I am in complete disbelief...

Nice apartments. Best in Killeen if you're looking for "luxury". Maintenance is usually pretty fast…read moreand very friendly, probably some of the nicest people on the property. If you're military and plan on moving here, know your rights and don't be afraid to contact legal if necessary. After my husband received orders for us to leave the state, several staff at the front desk were not knowledgeable about apartment policy, the SCRA (Service members Civil Relief Act), and lacked customer service. Each time we visited the office we were told conflicting information (that we'd have to pay two months rent after moving out even though we were leaving on the 4th of the month, that the complex didn't prorate move outs and that it was illegal to do so despite being prorated during move in, and even being told we were 'lucky' they weren't charging us for our full 18-month lease despite having military orders) all sorts of things smh. Basically if you're military and need to break your lease here specifically with military orders, talk to someone in charge. After speaking with the property manager via email and phone, it was smooth sailing. Not sure what everyone else was talking about or why they were so rude and ill-informed but they made the process more difficult than it had to be and we almost had to get Army legal involved smh. Great apartments though lol.

About 15 minutes after I left he called to tell me that someone was at the door. I told him not to open it because I wasn't expecting no one. So maintenance let his self in. I called the front office to see why maintenance was inside my apartment and the office had absolutely no idea why he was there and would call me back. So I'm guessing maintenance doesn't communicate with the front office when they need to enter your apartment, they just take their master key and go in and out as needed. The women that returned my phone call from the office was kinda rude and told me that they didn't have to tell me that maintenance was entering my apartment because it was an emergency. (It was so much of an emergency that the front office didn't even know about it) Then she followed up with if maintenance wasn't able to enter my apartment because we used the deadbolt, they would have charged ME for any damages that occurred. Then she said, but somebody was in the apartment, so basically what's the problem? You cannot consider a child as "someone" that is capable of letting a grown adult inside of an apartment while they are home alone. My child does not know this man. Anything could've happened. If that's their policy, I guess we can't do anything to change it. I just wanted to give parents a heads up. Or any single woman that would have a problem to waking up with a man standing in your kitchen for an emergency. With the world being so trigger happy, you would think they'll have a policy of courtesy calls. Other than that it's a nice place.

The office staff is absolutely amazing! Most of the residence here seem to be military and other…read moreprofessionals (the pricing seems to weed less favorable residents out). The gate is always working. I believe it has broke once or twice and was very quickly fixed within the week. There's ample night time lightening and bright detection lights all over the complex. I felt safe at all hours of the night. If you're out of town or a friend located themselves out of your place, the office will happily not your absence and grant the visitor access to your apartment if you put it in writing for them. The complex has their own app to make paying rent and communicating on a message board a breeze. After your contact ends, the month to month pricing gets weird. I recommend extending your contract or be subject to frustrating pricing and an increase in rent. You're required to pay $89 whether you use the internet and cable or not. Then you have to go pay spectrum the $14 per month for a box to view the cable. Maintenance is always on top of requests (done straight from the app). Mine were always completed within 24 hours. The apartments feel very nice. The dark cabinets and lights walls are very spacious. However, if you have kids or pets, it gets dirty very fast! The one and two bedrooms have minimal storage areas. Three bedrooms are limited in availability. All units have a washer and dryer included. The complex is willing to install additional shelving if you pay for it. The grounds are nicely kept, however, many residents are just plain lazy and don't pick up their dog poop. The pool can be dirty, especially after a long weekend. However, during the week I've never noticed the pool have that "film" on it. Never seen a dog in the pool area swimming, just service dogs. (They have two pools). The pool has some level of saltwater which many of my visitors and other residence have commented on, which I prefer over highly chlorinated poolsZ The work out area is on the smaller side in both sections but serve their purpose. Sometimes it can be too warm in the gym. You can also rent out the community center area for parties as well! I haven't had any terrible experiences due to the management, just a select few crappy residence. (Which you'll find anywhere). I would recommend this place to friends or those PCSing here. It's the nicest you will find in Killeen.

Received a gift bag with coupons that had expired already but thanks for the effort. The apartment was dated but clean and refreshed.
