I hired Sipes and Son because they have been in business since the year 2000, they perform the services that I needed, and because they had excellent reviews on other websites such as the Better Business Bureau. The work was performed over about one month, because some of the work was for the exterior of my house, and the weather in January and February was snowy. Four workers came to my house off and on, and all of them were very courteous and professional. I feel very happy with the quality of their work. I expect the brick pointing and sealing to prevent rainwater from damaging my bricks and foundation. The pipe column and drywall were my husband's idea, and they probably were not necessary, but at least we can have peace of mind that our floor will always be sturdy. The model was so old that I was not able to find a manual for it and after I noticed it still had a mercury capsule for measuring temperature I told her we should replace the whole thing anyway. I had no idea how the wiring worked, so I looked for a handyman nearby with experience working on these older models. I found Oleh through his website, he told me he has replaced the exact same model in the past and even told me what the wires were upfront so I decided to go with him to do the job. He said he could buy a replacement on his way to me and didn't charge me extra, even showed me the receipt for how much he paid for the new one. I paid 25$+tax for the new thermostat and 85$ for the replacement work. He knew exactly what he was doing. Because the new device was smaller he also applied some drywall filler to patch up the spot for free. The communication was great, pricing was very transparent, everything worked, so I'm very happy with the service.

I had two great experiences with Ice's Handy Man Services. First, Kevin repaired a wall where I had a plumbing repair done. Turned out perfectly! Even though it's an old house with plaster walls, the drywall patch is seamless. Then I had him back for a bigger project. My kitchen had a dysfunctional layout. Kevin rebuilt a portion of the wall, rearranged cabinets, built custom open shelves and a baking pan shelf, installed a new vinyl floor, and did a lot of trim work to tie it all together. In fact, in my review I stated that all I asked for was the curtesy to let me know you'd decided you were no longer interested in the job. I left a voicemail, asking if you'd decided not to do it. It would not have required you to drop anything to take less than 30 seconds to reply to the text I had sent with the photos and say you were no longer interested. That would have demonstrated a level of professionalism and common courtesy that should be a cornerstone of your business. Instead, you decide to respond to this review three years later with a passive-aggressive reply that only serves to make you look incredibly unprofessional. No part of my review was unreasonable, and the resolution that I said I hoped for was completely fair. Sending a text message would not have endangered your life or your health, but it would have gone a long way to showing that you're a decent person who cares about doing right by people, even when you aren't going to take the job.

I could not have been more wrong about John. When he first painted the house, he told us he'd…read morechange the color back when we moved free of charge. Well we moved, and he demanded we pay him $150. Since we were in a rush to move out, we paid him. He did the absolute sloppiest job I've ever seen. The property management company came in and took these pics, and told us it was absolutely unacceptable and we're going to have to pay for a real professional to do it. We're still waiting for him to give us back a refund or at least a partial refund. The reason I even gave him a good review to begin with is because he gave us a stupidly low price for painting - $300 for 3 floors. I ended up helping him midway and correcting a lot of his errors because he thought it would take him 1 day (LOL - I told him he's out of his mind, it ended up taking 3 full days, with me helping 10 hours). It's obvious he's a slop shoddy handyman at best, with no painting knowledge or experience. He even had to call his friend for painting advice. Because of the steal of a price, we hired him to install a sliding door and put a couple hooks in the ceiling (to hang a swing chair and some planters). This took him all of 45 minutes and he had the audacity to charge us $300! I said absolutely not, I'll give you $150 (which is already a lot, but I figured it would cover some of the mis-pricing of last time). He accepted this as fair since I brought up the discrepancy in his price per hour since last time. Since the last paint job mentioned at the beginning of this review, he's blocked my number (after telling me he'd give me a $75 refund for the poor job we had to pay a real professional to re-do). I feel bad being so disparaging but the truth hurts and if I can save someone else from experiencing this catastrophe of events, I will. Find someone else.

Chris was fast to respond to my request for painting several windows in difficult to reach areas of…read moremy house. He came for an estimate and even though i ended up adding to the project, everything came out to what I expected. The windows look fantastic and the men did high quality work! They cleaned up the project areas and were very respectful. Communication was great also as I had dogs to arrange while they were here. I highly recommend and will use again if I need any other work done.

I did not get a response from Chris though I called both the Office and his cell phone. I finally received a call from Chris on June 22, 2024 at which time he stated he did not receive my payment which, after checking, he received on June 6, 2024. He stated he would get back to me with the new schedule, however, to date I have heard nothing from Chris. Therefore, I am requesting Chris to cancel my project, and send me a refund..

They will rip you off and not do any work. And then when you take em to small claims they won't pay. Cuz someone is broke and not paying their insurance premiums. I don't know how the truth I spoke on here got taken down but I bet it's because it hit too close to home. Again, use ANY other company unless you want to be swindled out of a crap load of money!!! Wonder why there's only good reviews? The owner flags em so people think this is a good company. It's not. Wish I hadn't gotten mixed up with this place.

Well the crew from LVL has had our house for two and a half months - it was a transformation from the basement to the roof. It is beautiful. The attention to detail, the quality of the work- it is unbeatable. They put in a new French drain system and properly sealed the entire basement, creating additional living space for our teen girls.They replaced all the uneven floors and made the entire home not only much more functional- but breathtakingly gorgeous. The problem is then the left the house unfinished, never completing it. Six months later- their electrical work caused a house fire. Repeated attempts to rectify the issues failed until the owner of LaVillaLux just stopped talking to us altogether. Not the best way to do business. Really sad at the outcome.

We had a fairly good idea of what we wanted, both in terms of design and components. That is, we weren't looking for contractors who would charge $800 just to 'design' the new look (no, this is no joke, one contractor actually asked us for this amount just to prepare a quote ...). And we wanted to have someone who wouldn't break the bank and who would do good work. I think Edward fit the requirements quite well. He showed up on time. Every time. He's super reliable. He is to the point, and gets things done with minimal fuss. Moreover, if he runs into problems he isn't shy to look things up online or ask the manufacturer. This happened a few times since we were using less frequently used German and Japanese components in the bathroom that probably worked a bit differently from what is commonly installed. He is very flexible and won't rip you off if you need last minute changes. And he's more than willing to listen to suggestions. Keep in mind what you're getting. This is not someone who will install gold-plated McMansion style palaces but he will do a very solid job. And if something isn't 100% straight, he'll listen if you tell him and straighten it out. In return, you're paying $ to $$ but not $$$ to $$$$ for the job. One of the really nice things is that he won't nickel and dime you for small obstacles (e.g. one of the water valves on the mains was old and leaked after he'd turned the water off. He replaced it free of charge). And yes, he's very pleasant to deal with.
