I love Asda. Especially recently with the credit crunch, other supermarkets prices seem to have…read morerised, but I still find Asdas prices most competitive. The store is quite large, it doesn't get so busy that it becomes frustrating. They often have some really great deals on with rollbacks, Ben and Jerrys for example! Mmm. The staff I have found to always be very helpful. The only downside to this store is that it is a bit far away from the town centre, no good if you cannot drive.

However the checkout operators have now been told that they may not ask customers whether or not they want cash back. The customers have not been told that they need to ask. I am perplexed as to the reason for this policy decision. I am also told that after Christmas the tills will no longer have the cashback facility ! Does this mean that it will no longer be available at the tills? Are customers to be consulted/informed. I asked to speak to the manager yesterday but am still waiting to hear from him. This is no way to treat customers!

Prices are great, they always have fantastic deals on. I have found Morrisons to be one of the cheaper supermarkets. There is a big car park, as you can expect, so parking is never an issue but it is located just on the outskirts of Mansfield, which can be annoying if you do not have a car.

Never been to a more friendly supermarket. The place still looks new, and has been extended a bit…read moresince opening. The petrol station is an old style asda one, which still takes cash. The entrance has been improved with a mini-roundabout which has helped the queues no end. Its a standard fayre asda, but on the large side, and the self service checkout make it a lot easier for quick purchases. The store is to the north of the town, out towards Clipstone. The car park can get extremely busy at times, and you may need to drive around to find a space, expecially coming up to christmas

Theres a new Tesco Extra store that has been built just down Chesterfield Road, gets very busy and you get ran over by trolleys alot because people fail to look where they are going, but the store is massive, it sells everything - even horseriding equipment! Although I have noticed recently Tesco has got ALOT more expensive, I tend to steer clear now.

I certainly shed no tears when it closed. Of course, even though its gone, its remains still haunt Mansfield, with its derelict remains being left to rot, with no redevelopment taking place, leaving a vandalism ridden husk.
