The Co-op is found just around the corner at the top of the main shopping street and on the Oban (north) road.

They clock your first and last visit in a day and if it is over the time limit you will get an expensive bill in the mail. There are other grocery stores in town. Especially for students not owning cars or bikes, Morrisons can be quite a long walk out. That aside, the store offers most of the items one would expect to find in a well-run supermarket. Plenty of fresh produce, meat, a large selection of drinks, non-food items and sometimes fantastic savings on products. Adjacent is also a petrol station.

It's quite possible to spend over an hour just browsing through these things before you even make a start on your shopping. This, however, tends to make the overall shopping bill far more expensive as it's almost impossible to progress to the foodstuffs before you've half-filled your trolley with things you hadn't set out to buy in the first place! I therefore prefer to shop in Morrisons across the road, however this is an excellent store and well worth a look if you've got time to browse.

Most places do accept credit cards and we came mainly to pick up some fresh fruit to balance out all the heavy food we would be eating. The climate in Scotland is cold and rainy this time of year and the oranges and raspberries we got tasted different that the ones we get in the Bay Area. There is also meat and seafood, I loved seeing the fresh caught crab on a bed of seaweed and hard to find meat like venison for sale.

He got raspberry, but they offered different flavors. It was very creamy and good and their waffle cone was excellent. Tasted almost caramelized and nicely crunchy. My favorite was their egg custard. It was very flaky and crunchy with a creamy center. It was very good. I've had some egg custards in Portugal as well, and these tasted authentic.
