The Candy Kitchen - Madeira Beach, Florida…read more At least twice a year, our family makes a point to stop at The Candy Kitchen, and it never disappoints. When we can squeeze into the original store -- small, crowded, and wonderfully cozy -- it feels like stepping straight into a slice of old‑Florida nostalgia. The newer location is fantastic too, but there's something about the original that just hits differently. The assortment of candy and small toys is endless, like a treasure hunt for kids and adults alike. And the ice cream selection? Easily the best around. The flavors are bold, creamy, and consistently top‑tier. This place is a wonderland of vintage charm, packed with color, character, and that old‑school candy‑shop fantasy you don't find many places anymore. If you're anywhere near Madeira Beach, The Candy Kitchen is an absolute must‑visit.

They shared a little bit of the story and where their ice cream comes from. They also sell candy in addition to ice cream. The shop is bright, colorful, and offers ample seating. I sampled a few flavors before deciding on a scoop of salted caramel and a scoop of coffee, which are my two go-to flavors. The scoops were huge (see photos!). Delicious! My husband got their no sugar added ice cream which I believe was a cherry flavor. He enjoyed it as well.

I need to be better about taking pictures, but the jam selection was unreal. I got the Wild Black Raspberry as recommended by the employee. He said it was his personal fav, and WOW, I can see why!! I paired in with some feta wrapped in some well-buttered phyllo sheets, and it was *chef's kiss*. As a matter of fact, I added MORE of the jam after taking it out of the oven. I also got a block of Gouda cheese, which is imported from the Netherlands by a local couple here. Crazy!!! I'm excited to try it soon. I'll update this review whenever I get a chance to try. This little shop was super cute and had exactly what I needed! Small little corner store, just as it says. Friendly service and 10/10 jams. They had other amazing options like Apricot, Blueberry, and some savory options like Garlic Onion and Bacon something. Yum!!! I think this place is a spot for local businesses/vendors to sell their things, because they also had Kahwa coffee grounds which is a local coffee spot here (I think). Love a local business that supports local businesses!!!

The staff member was absolutely amazing in helping us decide which flavors to try, ingredients, and cost. There are lots of sweet and salty flavors to sample. It is hard to choose. We had such an amazing experience we hoped they would be back after the hurricane. Instead of waiting for our next trip to Florida, we made an online order. We ordered Jan 8 and just received our order this week, Feb 20, 2025. There was one issue after another that delayed shipment. We were concerned with the lack of communication. When we finally had a response, it sounds like the owners had a lot going on. The owners sent some samples as a sorry for the issues and delay and a few other extras due to being out of the flavor that were in stock when we ordered. We appreciate the honesty and customer service from company's like this.
