They also I dist on "early bird" payment for snow service in the summer -- $500 which gets you absolutely nothing! They are also hard to reach by phone and don't answer calls very quickly. You might consider the more reasonably priced options -- Kinder, and much more trustworthy elsewhere!

Since then, she moved and passed away, but I was still using them to handle our two properties. The first incident was following the first snow. No one showed up and I had to call. They finally sent someone out hours later, stating that they were overwhelmed. When the person came out, the job that they did was definitely not acceptable, but I chalked it up to them having a new system and I was assured the issues had been resolved. Which leads us to the second incident. I was sent a notification two days before the snow hit that I was confirmed to get my properties services at 8:30am for the morning of the snow. At 3pm, my tenant calls and asks if anyone is coming. I call and they assure me that someone is coming, but they are running behind schedule because of the snow. Maybe it's just me, but it's literally your job to work on the days that it snows... how is it that you are overwhelmed? We all knew it was going to be a bad storm days in advance. Anyway, hours later, no one comes. I try to call, but they are closed I text, and get no response. Then... worst part is I get a message that the job was competed at 9pm, but it wasn't. They never showed up. I emailed them saying that no one showed up and the job was marked as done... here's the response I got "Hi, we have some photos that we will send. There was alot of snow and the shovel did a walking b=path... not as wide as we typically do. But it will be sent in the morning after review by supervisor. The was under an emergency ordinance travel was tough and we did and are doing our best. " If they called, emailed or text you, then they spoke to me. I never heard from them. This is the picture I send them of the job they said was done. Had to call my cousin to come out and remove the snow at midnight. What a disappointment.

I was referred to DPH by one of their current customers. I contacted Anthony and we set up a…read morewalkthrough of my client's home to discuss the various tasks needed; DPH does these initial walkthroughs as a courtesy which is great. After reviewing the home and talking to the homeowner and I, he sent the price list back by task a la carte style which was good because it allowed my client to pick and choose which tasks they could afford at that time. He and his team time arrived on time and quickly started to work. They were patient as my homeowner and I discussed placement of furniture, etc. And they cleared out a garage of junk in record time and during record temperatures. They went the extra distance by sweeping and clearing out an enormous amount of leaves and debris as well as removing junk for salvage. DPH is a licensed and insured company that actually understands the nuances of doing jobs within a home; they were a pleasure to work with.

I remembered the owner of the company favorably from a differently named local company, so I felt confident hiring them for snow removal on an ad hoc basis. As the owners of a local home, we needed to secure someone quickly to remove the sidewalk accumulation while we were out of town. We were sent a contract which I quickly read--my husband was ill and I was distracted--but I did reply and ask if the contract obligated us in any way after the following day's snowfall, as if we were ourselves able to do the snow removal. The reply was ,"No, you are not obligated. Just let us know when you will be doing it and we will note the list at that time" Mistakenly, I believed this did not obligate us any further, but received a $350 bill for the past two days--when we were again out of town and I was not aware of the approximately 1.6 inches of snow during a storm that impacted the area (as per NWS). When I emailed the company to question the charge as I believed it was in error, I was informed "we do ask that you notify us in advance when you will be handling the snow removal yourselves so we can mark your property accordingly for that event." "Since we did not receive notification prior to the snowfalls on January 17th and January 19th, your property remained on our active service list, and service was completed in accordance with the contract that is currently in effect through December 1, 2026. (We) also want to note that we did not hear from you after the January 17th service, which led us to reasonably proceed with service again on January 19th. For that reason, the invoice reflects services performed on two separate dates and remains due." Legal ? Probably. Unclear? Definitely; IMHO of course. Deceitful? Certainly in my book. Needless to say, I did reply, clearly, today that I wanted to cancel the contract. We actually still do need a company that offers services on an ad hoc basis, but I'll stick with Taskrabbit. Cheaper and way more upfront.

Aren't they all the same? Nope. First, they have to be extremely reliable. They are going to wake up early in the morning and get to your address on time. Snow will be all removed and the area will be properly salted afterwards. Also, make sure they use the correct salt. Salt is salt, right? Nope. You need to use the correct salt for asphalt and cement. Using rock salt will destroy your sidewalks over the years. Also, finding the correct company that sells the salt is not easy. For example, the outside of the bag says something. They will state a certain calcium blend. You think it's true, right? Nope. You can have two bags from the same exact company that melts snow at different temperatures! Anyway, Paul and his B&M Snow Removal Company have shown to be extremely reliable and timely. I don't have to worry at all that the work will get done before work hours begin. I also am sure that it will be salted with the appropriate salts. In simple terms, they do a GREAT JOB. They aren't one of those companies that shows up late. Spreads the wrong salt or barely spread any salt at all. (I can tell you countless stories of people not leaving salt at all and claim they did! Some will even send me pictures of previous snow days in which they did in fact salt. They don't think I can tell. I can't believe the scams that people try to pull!) As you can see, there is a lot of different factors in snow removal. Let me assure you that you won't't go wrong with this company. They are honest and good. There will be now one less thing you have to worry about in your life.
