Täby Centrum is a large mall it is over multiple floors and has many historic points such as housing the first Apple Store in the nordic countries, which remains the only store they have in Stockholm County. The first Laduree and Sephora to open in Sweden also came right in this mall. It is the second-largest mall in Sweden in terms of sales which I'm presuming is down to having one of three Apple Stores in the country - where you can end up spending quite a lot on the cool tech! It has some nice stores including my favourite branch of Starbucks from my time in Stockholm. Other brands located here include Hugo Boss, Class Ohlson, Game Stop, Superdry, Nespresso, H&M, Intersport and many other big brands across Sweden, and even the world. It is located over three floors however the third floor is just a handful of independent shops and a large Clas Ohlson. There are multiple places to eat here including Vapiano, Burger King, McDonald's, Max, Subway and TGI Friday's - as you can tell with the list many of them are fast-food chains so if you're looking for more restauraunt type establishments, there isn't many to choose from. Like most malls in Stockholm County, there does seem to be a preference and push for certain brands and anchor stores in the overhead signs which direct you eg) this way for Apple. Most areas of the mall are pretty nice however the walkway and entrance coming from the train station is a sign of age - especially compared to Mall of Scandinavia, another huge mall in Stockholm County which you can obviously tell is newer. Still - Täby Centrum is an excellent shopping centre and many of its' stores I found to be worthy of a four-star rating, it has some brands here you can't get anywhere else and although there are some improvements this mall is worthy of a four-star rating. I came here for the Apple Store; I left with a good experience at many stores within the mall from Starbucks to Hugo Boss.

I only came here for the Apple store but ended up staying and taking a good look around. Täby Centrum also has some good art inside, some nice seating places and they have obviously taken a great deal of time and care in the interior design of this mall. It's really easy to get here with SL too (via the Roslagsbanan - zone B) and there are buses too. Plus a car park. Overall a great shopping experience in a fresh and enjoyable shopping mall.

Mall of Scandinavia is the largest mall in Sweden and the third-largest in the Nordic countries…read moreafter Sørlandssenteret in Norway and Sello in Finland, the latter is only 952 meters squared larger, however - so it is rather close. Being in Solna, it is in Stockholm County so you can still use your SL pass to get here via the train or metro, I would, however, recommend the train due to the close proximity of Solna Station compared to the metro which is a much larger walk (it involved going under a bridge which no GPS seemed to be able to navigate causing me to get lost for over half an hour) - of course Solna Station is quicker by commuter rail too, just seven minutes into Stockholm City station. The mall is quite new as it opened in 2015 and it still feels pretty modern in most areas - I do like the flat escalators to get from the entrance and car parks up and around the mall which is more accessible for anyone and I really do prefer them to escalators and find them to be highly underrated and underused. The mall is huge being over three floors - there is even a confusingly named floor "0.5" which can only be accessed through one lift - getting to this could be better. Floor 0.5 provides access into the Friends Arena, home to AIK and the Swedish national football team which is a stone's throw away, directly across from the mall - alongside Vapiano. (A chain I had much struggle with during my time in Sweden) Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield owns this mall they also seem to own many other malls around the country - I did find the layouts between this mall and others including Taby Centrum to be similar in the sense the same signs which say "go forward for x store or toilets etc" were the same look and font - and although there is no individual branding for the mall company, they do seem similar. Westfield does have some pretty great, cool malls back home in London so it was no surprise when I found out they had an involvement here! I did find it hard to find staff members around the mall to get help when needed - such as finding lifts and certain stores which was a shame as it seemed they only had the larger and anchor stores named on the overhead maps - probably because they're an anchor tenant and paying them more money. With brands including JD Sports, Clas Ohlson, Hugo Boss, Adidas, G-Star Raw, Foot Locker and more they do have a good selection of stores which are big brands and international names which we have in the UK, (other than Clas Ohlson sadly who made the decision to close all of their stores here) as well as Swedish stores like Apotek. The mall's website states they have 44 restaurants but I still can't help in being disappointed with the selection - after some bad experiences with service at some of their bigger brands including Starbucks (large store upstairs, but downstairs it is too close together, cramped and uncomfortable), O'Leary's (unauthentic, AWOL staff) and Vapiano (staff don't seem to care, rudeness, slow wait times). There are other places, which aren't really brands - none of which screamed out at me or looked too exciting - Top Floor being hidden on the highest floor of the mall and in a car park was surely strange. Overall, especially considering the high taxation which if offputting to stores in Stockholm city centre this is a pretty good mall. Is it the best in the area? It's close but no but that doesn't mean the need to take anything away from MOS - while it might lack the contemporary, central feel of MOOD and perhaps the better service and Apple Store you can see at Taby Centrum - it's still a large, modern and cool mall and one of the better places to shop at the city, made better in a way by the city's two other malls as they all offer different things but here at Mall of Scandanavia, they have a great selection of stores, it's in a good location for access to Stockholm city centre or the Friends Arena so still warrants a good four-star rating.

Warning to Parents - Mall of Scandinavia (Solna)…read more I want to share an incident that may be important for other parents with small children. In baby lounge, my child was injured when she fell. There is an alarm button in the space, which I pressed. The alarm began sounding loudly, but for approximately eight minutes no staff came to the location. After waiting about eight minutes for someone to arrive, while my child was crying hysterically after hitting their head, I was forced to take my child to medical care myself because no one from the shopping center's staff ever came to help. During this entire time, the alarm was sounding loudly in the children's feeding area. I am writing this so that other parents are aware that visible safety features do not always mean that help will arrive within a reasonable time.

There are two sewing machines right in the store, and everything is made in Sweden. The designs are delightful and the fabrics are workmanship are quality. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at the prices! The dollar is strong right now and these items were much less than I thought they would be. Ok, I like this Swedish department store for totally different reasons than you will, Yelpers…read more * * * The Yelp Review For Everybody Else. One. This is a beautiful place. The store was built in 1915 by a Swedish art nouveau architect and he did a wonderful job. The store is build around a four story atrium with galleries on all four sides with wrought iron balconies. There are all sorts of places to sit in those galleries where you can look down on the courtyard below. We spent much of our afternoon doing just that. Two. One third of the floor space of NK is given over to restaurants and cafes. You are never more than ten yards away from something lovely to eat and drink. (Yeah, my barista who couldn't have been more than nineteen years old put old milk into my otherwise well made latte. However, the mint cookie that came with it was delightful. I am writing off the old milk as a fluke.) Three. NK is alive and thriving - unlike American downtown department stores. People pour into NK and are buying things in every department. Visiting Macy's or Marshall Fields can feel like visiting your grandmother in the nursing home. I suspect having a local government that makes things hard on competitors like Walmart has much to do with the vigor of Stockholm downtown department stores. * * * Now, heh heh, the Yelp Review for Me. Samuel C. is a classical music fiend. Better yet, he likes all the niches of classical music including many forms that are disdained by American classical music lovers. The classical music niche that is dying the fastest in the U.S. is leider and art songs. One of the areas of the world whose classical music is generally disdained in the U.S. is Scandinavia. Sweden distinguished itself both in art song and producing amazing singers for the operatic and lieder repertoires. In America, it is hard to find an art song recital, or find lieder cds that are not Schubert or Wolf. NK's book and music department has the best selection of classical cd's in Stockholm and arguably in Sweden. It is very strong on all classical genres including massive selections of two good budget labels, Naxos and Brilliant, and very strong coverage on a variety of labels of every composer you can think of. They are excellent on Swedish composers - composers whose work you can hardly find anywhere else. Better yet - they are AMAZINGLY strong on all forms of vocal classical music: opera, choral and art song alike. They have huge selections for every famous opera or lieder singer you can think of, and many you have never heard of. They have a deep stock of recordings of the best choirs from all over the world, with Sweden well represented in the pack. They have tons of repertoire I have never seen anywhere else ... and I have shopped in classical music stores all over Europe including ones that promote the local national tradition. (It does not hurt that they also have good selections of the Swedish traditional folk songs and folk fiddling. These were the musical roots that led to the Swedish classical music tradition in the first place.) The wife and I left the store with bags full of goodies. We also had huge grins on our faces as we went home to count up the swag. * * * You, fellow Yelper, may not be as excited about Swedish art songs as we are. But they have a lot of different departments at NK. One of those departments may have something that appeals to your secret id as well. And if you can't find anything you like, no big deal. Find a comfortable chair and the snack of your choice, and enjoy the wonderful turn-of-the-century view.

The vibe at the NK is what I imagine Saks was like in '50s New York. Let's call it earnest coolness. There's more of an emphasis on quality workmanship and active curation of wearable fashion (rather than couture) brands like Peak Performance, Ralph Lauren and Gant. Less so the likes of YSL or Prada.

The store has a whole range of Acne clothes and accessories, usually from older collections. It has a totally, totally different vibe from the other Acne stores in the city and feels almost a bit like thrifting. Great organization and emphasis on color coding and I'm always impressed by the range of different textiles and fabrics they have for sale.

But here I didn't see many people with shopping bags. Does it mean there is nothing good? Well the discounts aren't great great. To give you a taste: GANT has mostly 30% off same with Filippa K. Levis had Jeans for 650kr-ish. Acne had 70% of Jeans that was good. Home & Cook was a good store where you could get two Tefal pans for 600kr. The Shirt factory had shirts for 549kr ish (2 for 999kr). I was a most disappointed of Vagabond, Haglofs and ECCO. Couldn't find anything good. Maybe it was just today. My personal favorite was "Company's Outlet". Really good deals ladies! Plus, in case you are looking for a snack or drink there are a few stores like Waynes Cafe to sit down and relax the feets - because this place is soo big *wink, wink* If I would come again: Yes, 100% for Company's outlet and maybe for Levis.
