So I booked my first appointment with Maggie and walked in to the appointment slightly nervous. I've had a bunch of Brazilian waxes over the last couple years but for some reason still was feeling nervous! The first impression of the place was a smallish hole in the wall place but it opened up to a much larger set of rooms with many waxers. The front desk girl greeted me and I was seen quickly by Maggie. Maggie is an absolute gem! Very very nice and welcoming lady who truly seems to enjoy her work. She chatted with me and got to know more about my life which made me feel a lot better about getting waxed again. It had been awhile. I let her know and she was patient with me through the whole process. Now be forewarned! Maggie's technique was different than the other esthetician I went to before. My favorite waxed is Lucy, she makes it a much more comfortable experience and always talks to me to take my mind off of everything and we always joke in service and talk about the goings on about life/work. Babita is a good and efficient waxer as well-- I just had her recently when Lucy was not on schedule for the time I needed. For me, the 4 step skin process, the wax, and the bedside manner was definitely better than my experience at a competitor like Waxing the City and of course better than any other value or multipurpose salon. On three occasions, I arrived for my scheduled appointment at European Wax Center on Eldorado and they were running approximately 15-30 minutes behind. The first time, I completely understood--things happen! I simply asked if, going forward, someone could call or text me when they were running that far behind since I drive about 20 minutes to get there. When it happened a second time, I mentioned again that it was frustrating and asked if they could please communicate with me if they were significantly behind schedule. Unfortunately, it happened a third time with no call or text. I understand appointments can run over and unexpected things happen. My issue isn't that they were behind; it's the lack of communication, especially after I specifically brought it up twice. A quick text or phone call would have allowed me to adjust my schedule rather than arriving and waiting. I wish them well, but unfortunately, after three occurrences, I feel I need to find somewhere else that can better communicate when appointments are running behind.
