The staff were kind and very helpful and the accommodations are great. The buffet is good too, however I wish they had some meat like bacon or sausage (they only serve cold cuts like ham, turkey etc). My only issue, and it is a small one, is that I was asked 4 times for my name and room number. I understand that they are trying to do their job and make sure there are no freeloaders, but I had multiple conversations with staff members, and they still feel the need to question me and ask to see my key. I was slightly annoyed but that's just me being too picky. Overall I would rate it 5/5. Totally recommend. Also the staff were very helpful with recommending restaurants and even booked our taxis and whatnot.

The Hotel Ibis styles is in a great location. It is not in the middle of Munich which is what I…read morewanted. We had a rental car so I wanted to be somewhere where we could park the car. I also had a few other amenities I was looking for, I wanted air conditioning, breakfast in the morning and Wi-Fi. This hotel provided all of those things. The breakfast in the morning was good. There were so many options from cereal, bagels, croissants, meats and cheeses along with juice, coffee and water. There was plenty of seating for everyone having breakfast as well. The Wi-Fi worked pretty well and were were able to skype back home. This is a very modern hotel and feels clean and welcoming. We had a twin room with two twin beds. The room was enormous by European standards. It had a great sized bath tub as well as a long desk and massive window with sliding curtains. The only issue I had was that you needed to use the room key to power the lights and AC, which is great for conserving energy but the room never cooled down enough to be entirely comfortable. I would possibly stay again, just remember to arrive hours before wanting to sleep so the room has time to cool down. The staff was very nice and spoke many languages, I had no issues talking with the staff. They were all very courteous and accommodating. The also had a computer and printer in the lobby area so I could print out some tickets. This was free of any additional charges. Also, the hotel is across from the Disney offices which was pretty neat. The employees had cool decals of Disney characters in their windows.

When looking for a hotel we were looking for a hotel that had free breakfast, air conditioning, parking, and WiFi. This hotel had all of these items. The hotel is very nice. It is modern but yet still warm feeling. We stayed in a room with two twin beds. The room was very large, even in the states it would be considered a large room. The bathtub was large and had a very interesting door that swung out and only closed in half the tub. Also, there was a very large picture of a pretzel in the room. It was fine to look at but different from normal hotel room art. The breakfast in the morning one of the best I experienced in Europe. There were so many options from cereal, bagels, croissants, meats and cheeses along with smoothies, coffee and water. The lobby looked small so I was wondering how seating would work for breakfast but there is another entire area so there was plenty of seating options. The staff was very friendly and made check-in simple. The only thing I wish they had mentioned was that you need to use one of your room key to enable the electricity. We were looking around for at least 5 minutes trying to turn on lights and the AC before we saw the little card holder next to the door and tried using a room key. It was a warm weekend in Munich and not having the AC on prior to us arriving made the room very warm and uncomfortable. Make sure to leave the room key in the holder when you leave for the day so you come back to a nice cool room.

It is a good breakfast buffet, typical of the region. The AC is barely noticeable. We had it as low as it goes and it was still hot. The toilet is in a separate space but the sink and shower are within the room. There is a small divider to close off the area but ours was stuck and would not pull out. Not a big deal as it was my husband and I but if you were traveling with people you weren't wanting to get naked in front of, that could make this room a challenge. There is parking for a fee or you can park on the street. We had no issues finding on street parking. There are some restaurants, shops and small markets within a bit of a walk. You have to drive or take some form of transportation to get into Munich - prob 20 mins away or so. If you were looking to venture out and go to Salzburg, etc...it is a good location as it is outside of the city on that side. For the value, I may stay again but I would likely attempt to find another comparable spot for the money and try that out. The staff were very nice.

I had been searching for hotels near the Messe ICM (Congress Centre) for quite some time, and I…read moremust say that as I haven't been there before, it was quite confusing and difficult to book a hotel in Munich. My colleagues who had been there before suggested hotels closer to the city centre, which is quite a distance from the airport and from the Congress Centre. I opted to look for a hotel close to the Congress Centre, although even in my search for nearby hotels, I was quite surprised at the cost. Initially when I reviewed this hotel, each room was $600+/night which I felt to be quite ridiculous in price. I had compared the price to nearby hotels, and those sanctioned by our conference, whad had already been sold out. I decided to wait until the last minute, after searching multiple hotel sites, AirBnB etc, and finally got this hotel at a deal. Now here's my review of the hotel itself: To begin with, it is located at least 40 mins away from the airport, directly across from the Congress Centre. I had contacted the hotel in advance to ensure an early check in and other requests based on preferences, and received a message back stating that they would try to accommodate my requests. There is no hotel shuttle, and apparently Uber is not allowed on the Congress property. My colleague and I waited 40 mins for a shuttle from the airport to the ICM and were told thereafter that we were wasting our time and that the shuttle never comes! We decided to take a cab and were gouged at a price of 80 Euro one way. I finally made it my way to the hotel, and was greeted by the staff who were quite pleasant overall. However, despite my requests for a non-smoking and accessible room (as I had visitors who required this), I was led to a different room where my badge could not access, so I had the staff let me in. I called reception, where they confirmed they had given me the wrong room and to come back to reception. Thereafter, they changed my room again, although, this time to a room which was clearly a smoking room, and non-accessible, which was unfortunate for my colleague who was visiting me and required such accomodations. Unfortunately, there isn't much to do in the area at all. I located a nearby walking//biking trail and park approximately 4km away, and a small beach, which was quite nice. There is a mall (Riem Arcaden) approximately a 10 min walk away, with many stores, including a grocery store/supermarket, pharmacy and restaurants, including standard North American fast food. In order to get to the city centre, there is a train directly across the ICM which takes approximately 25 minutes each way. A cab/Uber was approximately $25 Euros each way. The room itself was pretty standard with two twin beds made into a double. I was a bit confused though, as there were only decorative shams and a decorative throw, rather than pillows and/or sheets. There was satellite tv in the room, as well as a coffee maker and complimentary water. The bathroom had a separate toilet and rainfall shower with separate shower head. There were standard toiletries provided. There was no iron or ice bucket in the room, thus I had to ask for these things. There are fitness facilities (see photos) which are quite nice, with 1 treadmill, a cross trainer, and stationary bike, with a weight system and free weights. There is a nice outdoor terrace with a sauna. The gym is only open from 6:30am-10pm however. There was no pool in the hotel. Interestingly, the fitness facility is actually located in the adjacent hotel, H2, which is the 'sister' hotel. My room was on the 4th floor of H4, thus I had to take the elevator down one floor, cross over to the other hotel, and go up a floor again. I did not try the hotel bar, but did order dessert from the attached restaurant/bar which was standard. The hotel staff were pleasant, although not all spoke English. Overall, my experience was quite good. It is conveniently located if you are attending the Congress; however, if you are looking to go exploring Munich, this is not ideal. I would recommend staying closer to the central station. Thanks for a great stay!

I'm glad there are nice handles in the bathtub area because they're kind of high for me to go over. The rain shower head didn't work very well for us unfortunately but everything else was fine. This was the only hotel that provided lotion and conditioner too so those were extra bonuses! The breakfast layout was amazing and it had a huge variety of food and the servers came and cleaned up our things fairly well. The slight downside was that this area had lots of businesses so not a lot of "tourist" areas or shops nearby. There was one tiny supermarket and a few restaurants. It was a bit far from city center or areas to walk around because there's the ring/busy streets. Because we lack those kinds of stores and places, it was nice and quiet so pros and cons!

I felt safe here and Munich is generally a very safe city. Aside from the vending machine and what is offered in the hotel, your closest convenience store will be a small cafe window at the Moosfeld Ubahn stop on the mezzanine level. The hotel handled my reservation and booking well from the US via email. Here it would help if you are able to write and read in German fluently, but it seems they are able to conduct business in English too. I requested a room on an upper floor and they were able to make that happen. It was quiet on the fourth and uppermost floor of the main building. My single room was great for the most part. The comforter was undersized initially, but they corrected it two days into my stay. It's a basic room, small television I used once, and nothing fancy. There is WiFi, but I didn't use it. They have a spa and wellness center next door I never used. So you may get more mileage out of your stay. The room was clean and secure. Everything worked in the bathroom and the warm and hot water are almost instantaneous in the shower. They have a bath towel and hand towel, but not a bath cloth. Liquid soap is from dispensars at the sink and in the shower and there is a small box of amenities women may find useful in the restroom. There were a few moments on two days when the power blinked a few times. What most people will appreciate is the breakfast included. One has a selection of breads, cheeses and cold cuts, as well as precut fruit: grapefruit, oranges, pineapples. They also cater to the American tastes with scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. There are no potatoes of any sort, but they have Kaiserschmarrn! I never saw the applesauce...There are coffee, tea, apple and orange juice, and water available too. This is a hotel for the value conscious traveler, especially appreciated during the Oktoberfest period when rates were escalated in the most expensive city in Germany. If you are up to the walking, this is a good hotel for you and hits above its weight. 3.7 stars!
