Ibis Styles was more modern than the other hotels we considered in Glasgow. No traditional lobby; check-in happens at a laptop atop a piano, where we were given a list of recommended restaurants in the area.
Clean room minus a few scuff marks. Cozy, comfortable bed. Long window ledge provided plenty of space for our belongings. Bathroom wall displays a mural listing 90s bands, most of which I'm not cool enough to recognize. It took some tinkering before finding a comfortable water temperature in the shower, but that was a minor issue.
I'm not sure about the breakfast situation as we didn't partake, but there is a bar & sizable lounge & eating area right off the "lobby."
Great location; quiet, but close enough to neighborhoods & attractions worth visiting. Ten minutes from Glasgow Airport. Would choose Ibis Styles again.
Sidenote: Our room was located next to the elevator; in the middle of the night, someone mistakenly (maybe drunkenly? lol) tried our door handle, thinking our room was theirs. *That* was an adventure in itself. read more
