The house is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the metro stop is just a short walk from the front door, and the owners, Marion and Frank are some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet...it was the perfect place to spend our 2 nights in Glasgow. There is so much to do within walking distance from Ashton, it is the perfect place for those looking to explore Glasgow. The breakfast offerings were coffee or tea, cereals and yogurt, freshly cut fruit, toast, and croissants...no eggs or other hot offerings but sometimes you just can't have everything! Our room was on the small side and Marion offered to let us switch rooms on the second night but for us it was just fine as we really weren't in it much anyways! We shared a bathroom with the room next door which can be a bit awkward at times but everyone staying was very polite and we made it work. Marion even let us park our rental car around back for our stay which we were very grateful for. One notable downside is that they don't offer wi-fi at all which, for us, was a bit of a bummer...but we made do on our phones. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Ashton Glasgow, the location and the hospitality would be very difficult to beat!

No doubt one of their more 'cost effective' rooms but fine for us all the same. The staff are fabulous - attentive and always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is generous and really tasty with a cooked option full of local meaty goodies. The potato scone was good too! We only paid £54 for b&b which was a steal!

We didn't get to sample breakfast because we only stayed one night and had an early flight home. She has a parlor downstairs where you can go to read, watch a DVD, have a nightcap (she had a little wine, and cream liqueur similar to Bailey's (that's what we had). The only drawback is there is no elevator or lift. We carried our luggage up 4 flights of stairs. The host helped my husband with our bags. I would highly recommend this place and if I ever get to Glasgow again I will stay here again!

We were here completely by accident, and I DO mean 'accident'. I broke my foot on holiday while hiking on the Isle of Mull, and had to be medivac'd by ambulance and ferry to Royal Alexandra Hospital. Hubby had to quickly find a place to stay close by while I was in hospital, and fortunately there was a ground floor room available. After my surgery, and before we met back up with our traveling companions, I also stayed here for several nights. Anne and George were so accomodating to our 'special needs'. I spent a lot of time on their sofa with my foot propped up, and Anne brought me tea and biscuits several times. George even gave hubby a ride to the laundromat because we were running out of clean clothes. The breakfasts here were truly wonderful: typically Scottish and very filling. The room was immaculate and very cozy, and conveniently on the ground floor. We are definitely planning a return trip to Scotland to see and do everything we missed during our detour to Paisely, but will also schedule a return stay at this charming B & B.

I have advised guests visiting Glasgow to stay here for years and the only times they have been disappointed is when it is fully booked. With just nine rooms, this can happen from time-to-time so it's always worth booking early. As well as being a beautiful building in its own right, probably the best thing about the set-up is its location. Five minutes walk from both Hyndland and Byres Road, the area is leafy and safe, but easy to access at the same time.

It is stylishly decorated and retains a lovely elegant Edwardian charm that you'll never find in the standard hotel chains. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with lovely views out over the Kensington Gate area. Breakfast, served in the room, was delicious and in with the room price. If you are sick of the usual budget box hotels you must give this a try - it's just off Great Western Road by the Botanic Gardens and only five minutes from Byers Road and the subway into the city centre.

Martin who was running things was absolutely wonderful, and we are beginning to plan our second trip to Scotland and will stay there multiple nights thanks to him and his kindness. Absolutely wonderful place to stay, you feel comfortable and like you never want to leave. Just wonderful.

Once found , we were very pleased to see parking - rare in Edinburgh. The rooms were well appointed , a little small, and at first extremely noisy. We were on the first floor and could hear the clomping of guests on the exposed wood stairs. The breakfast room was also very near our door and I was thinking there was to be no sleeping - but I was wrong. Somehow , magically , the noise didn't wake us - I am a very light sleeper too. Whatever the sound dynamic was in the place - I slept very comfortably and quietly. If we were going to be spending time in our rooms , I would have found the space restrictive but for a good nights rest , it was great. The only other thing I felt was a head scratcher was the bathroom mirror. Very space age, 3-D type design that completely did not go with the decor. The breakfast room was lovely and the food was very good. The hosts are happy to accommodate your every need. They had umbrellas for the rain and a very nifty call button that summoned a cab in under 10 minutes ! It's location is walkable to some things but since you could have your car on property , it's easy to drive anywhere you want to go within a few minutes. Come and stay and enjoy this cozy gem in the midst of busting Edinburgh.

Specials are prepared on the weekends. This meal is so hardy you won't need lunch. Bedrooms are comfortable, clean, and beautifully appointed. The beds are as comfortable as any top tier hotel. The rooms can be blacked out for a very quiet deep long sleep. I slept better here then I have in months anywhere else. Good free high speed internet that is fast enough to stream video. A decent price for anyone spending a night in the city, but for stays any longer than a couple of nights, invest a little more. Not really worth paying for everything that was wrong with it.

HOWEVER, the room-maximum rule is STRICTLY enforced. We were trying to fit 7 people into the 5-person suite and through the whole process with getting the key from reception each time we were found out (even though it was a different person at reception, so they must keep note of who the guests are when they check in). We were told the extra people could not stay so we had to find extra accommodations on a weekend in Glasgow where literally every hostel was booked. This is forgivable, because I'm sure they have lots of people trying to fit as many people into the cheap rooms in order to save money. In all other aspects, they were extremely hospitable: they allowed us to check in early and keep our luggage in the building after we checked out. It would have just been nice to know how strict they are on the room occupancy beforehand.
