Standard Ibis located in an old building, but renovated inside so that it feels just like any other Ibis - not that that's a bad thing, just don't expect it to have any historic atmosphere.
The rooms are all ensuite and air-conditioned, and I found the beds comfy. Those at the back are rather quieter, not that Boulevard Victor Hugo gets a lot of late-night traffic. Free wifi access is provided, and the TV has BBC World News (and German and Spanish channels).
The location is pretty good: It's a five minute walk into the historic centre of town, with several bars and restaurants located next the hotel.
There's the normal Ibis buffet breakfast on offer at EUR7.50, or you can go to one of the bars nearby for a coffee and croissant if you prefer. On our visit the bar was closed for renovation, though I can't see why you'd want to use it with so many authentic French bars nearby.
Friendly staff who speak some English. There's a car park at the rear, and it's a 15 minute uphill walk from the railway station. The bus and trolleybus stops in Place Winston Churchill are only a few minutes away. read more
