Solid choice with a great location overlooking the river. Our room was on the small side but had a comfortable double bed and a good sized bathroom. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. We could easily walk to all the main sights such as the University, gardens and many restaurants (although, a lot of the sights were uphill). We were here in February so we didn't experience activities on the river but there seem to be many options in the warmer weather.
Breakfast was worth the €6/pp/day, although, it's not as nice as the picture on the website. After spending four days in Lisbon and two days in Coimbra, the Pasteis da Nada's that I ate at breakfast here were what finally overdosed me on them. Delicious but very rich after eating at least one (usually more) for six straight days.
I'd definitely consider staying in this hotel again if in Coimbra. read more
