This charming hotel is practically located in the middle of nowhere in France. I had booked a great…read moredeal on a room in advance, and we arrived late in the evening. It felt like we had to drive forever to find the hotel, but we were warmly greeted at this comfortable property.
The exterior is really pretty, and very French. It sort of looks like the grounds of a very small countryside estate. We had a rental car, and the hotel has a very small parking garage on site. It is NOT for the faint of heart. Our car barely fit, it was SO small.
We were given an accessible room on the ground floor. It had a very large roll-in shower for guests in wheelchairs, and had lots of space to move around. I do not know why we were given this room, but the hotel felt very quiet and empty so we figured they just put us in a room close to the front desk.
Our room was very clean and well equipped, but I especially loved the super high powered towel heating bar! I had to wash some laundry in the sink (a near daily task when traveling light through Europe), and my wet socks and shirts dried in about 3 hours on that rack! It was awesome!
Since it was late and we were tired, we opted to dine at the on-site restaurant. It was very good and fairly priced, and we enjoyed drinks, snacks, and fresh fish and steak for dinner. The food wasn't fancy or particularly pretty, but it was filling and made with in-season ingredients (we ordered from the chef's fresh picks for the day).
This isn't a destination hotel, but it was quiet and safe for a night on the road.
