The farm land is huge and the animals are all well behaved so even if you're scared, you won't be for long. We took the Girl Scout troop on an outing here and the girls loved it. Kadeem is really eager about introducing farm life to city kids and helping make the comfortable and knowledgeable. I loved the way he allowed them to interact with the animals in ways they would never be able to other places. He does not restrict the kids and uses everything as a learning opportunity. My daughter was upset we had to leave without the alpaca. We will definitely be returning again. They also do petting zoo and horse rides for parties. He was so nice to even walk with my daughter bc she was scared to ride. 10/10 I definitely recommend to anyone looking for an up close, personal. Memorable animal experience!

Broganville is a family owned farm and the atmosphere gives just that! Kadeem Brogan (the owner) was so nice and welcoming. He gave us a full tour of the grounds as well as a horse and buggy ride. Overall, it was a fun and memorable day for the kids. We'll definitely be back!

I rode quite a bit many years ago. I had a service expectation in my mind for how things would go and unfortunately the team at this ranch did not deliver. On arrival, parking was not clearly marked (broken signs and no arrows to direct you). Once out of the car, there was no one to greet us or give next steps. We were told by visitors already waiting to step inside the barn to sign a waiver. Once inside, the staff member who wondered out of the dark handed the waiver to me and explained it. Yet she never said hello or introduced herself. It all felt very transactional or as if we weren't welcomed. I can only assume how many trail rides are provided in a day or week but the experience is still special to visitors. I would like to think they still remember this. My children were assigned horses (Cherokee and Widow) and given basic riding instructions from other staff members (they stated afterward the women providing them were not very warm). I was given a horse named Stitch that I did not enjoy or recommend to anyone who has never ridden before. He was headstrong and unfriendly. I can say: The 60 minute ride through the wooded trails was beautiful and very quiet. Our group totaled six so I guess I assumed there would be conversation from the trail lead but there was none. No water was provided or information about the land we were on. I was grateful for the instructor stopping before bigger hills to describe what was ahead and how to best handle it, it helped my kiddos, but I can't say as I would come to this place again. The horses looked thin and tired. Not to mention the barn bathroom was exactly what you'd expect: dusty dirty and rusty. Perhaps our expectations were too high? One big plus: the friendliness of my children's horses and the barn cats.

I've been aware of Koteewi Park and the many activities that they offer for several years and finally decided to give them a try. I arrived 15 minutes prior to our scheduled ride time and my sisters had already been there waiting for about 20 minutes or so. I'd booked this ride several weeks prior. When we went inside to check in, we waited several minutes before being greeted by a woman just coming back into the desk. She advised us that the previous group left late due to some uncooperative horses, and that we'd have to wait for them to return, approximately 35-40 minutes. We'd be riding those same horses and began praying that they'd be more cooperative with us. We entertained ourselves for the next 45 minutes and once the horses returned, we went inside for our safety briefing and instruction tutorial. We were shown how to hold the reigns (which was different from what I'd learned previously) and how to steer and bring the horses to a stop. Afterwards, we were taken out to mount up. We got mounted and adjusted and took a few practice loops around the corral before being taken onto the trail. I rode Happy, aka "The Goodest Boy!" I was told by the woman who checked us in that he was the horse she rides when she goes out on the trail. He doesn't like to lead but follows whether you want him to or not. If one horse stopped, he stopped. If I told him to stop (using the reigns of course), but the other horses were going...we went too. My middle sister rode Vanner, who I've donned "The Uncooperative Rebel". He stopped several times for snacks along the trail even when he knows he's not supposed to. Sis couldn't contain his wild, unfettered spirit. The youngest sister rode Willow aka "Priss Miss". I think she was a show horse at one point. She had a very proper and sophisticated gait and required braces for two of her ankles. Our guides, we had two for just the three of us, were very nice and kept us safe. We exchanged stories and shared laughs during our 1-hour trail ride. I chose the lake trail for the views and was a bit disappointed that there weren't many. We got a peek at the lake twice, briefly, but the wildflower fields of local flora and fauna created a truly magical setting. At one point, we were all surrounded by butterflies landing on us and the horses! It was fun, but it was hot. In the future, if we return during the Summer, it will either be for one of the morning or sunset trail rides.

Bryce is freaking awesome and makes sure you have a great time. We had the whole trail to ourselves for horseback riding (Peaches is absolutely the best horse in the world, I already miss her so much). When you think of Indiana, you think "flat, boring", but this property had cliffs and mountains and rivers and creeks all over it. Simply gorgeous. Afterwards, Bryce broke out the machines guns and silencers and we shot M16, MP5, Uzis and a Glock 18 along with our own guns. We had the entire range to ourselves and went through thousands of rounds in just a few hours. My personal favorite was the Uzi, but that Glock 18 is beyond ridiculous. An entire 35 rounds gone in less than two seconds. Literally. When you pull the trigger, it just sprays a stream of brass out the side. We got to chill and eat a delicious dinner, then came back to set up camp (again, we had the whole property to ourselves) and Bryce brought us a bunch of wood pallets to make a roaring bonfire. Much alcohol was consumed and hijinks had. This might be one of the best weekends of our lives, no kidding. Certainly the best bachelor party spot in the Midwest, hands down. Even if you're not into machine guns (which means you're crazy) you should still check this place out. It's so beautiful and it's so fun to get to take advantage of having all these goats, horses, chickens, etc. around... but someone else has to take care of them. Thanks, Bryce! We will for sure be back soon!!

I did a beginner (VERY beginner) group lesson with my roommates and Emily Ahlfeld, a trainer at Sierra Woods. We learned how to groom and tack up our horses as well as safely pilot them. My horse was named Pooh Bear and he was awesome! I learned how to walk, post, trot and steer. Emily was very fun and engaging. I give her props for teaching three 21-year-olds how to ride as beginners. We were in the indoor ring, but Sierra Woods has 2 outdoor rings as well. The farm itself is large with multiple outdoor pastures for the horses. The price of a beginner group lesson was $45 - pretty affordable compared to other barns in the area. Overall, my horse lesson at Sierra Woods was a bucket list item that I can check off, and I highly recommend Sierra Woods to anyone looking for a start with horses.

There is no yelling and screaming at the riders at this barn. We moved to Sierra Woods from another Indianapolis area barn due to the high-stress environment at the previous barn. Amy does several Indianapolis area shows as well as shows in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee (about 3 shows per month; more in the summer). HIGHLY recommended!
