Irina is definitely one of the best Pilates instructors! She's experienced, patient, and detail-oriented. Her price is also very reasonable! I have been doing Pilates here since June, and I have seen significant improvements on my posture, flexibility, and core strength. Coming here three times a week allows me to take a break from busy work, clear my mind, and gain energy and inner serenity. In addition, since I have back pains related to long-time use of laptop, Irina designed a series of practices to open my shoulders and improve my scapular stabilization. I wish I can give this place 10 stars! Pilates I think is the best working out ever! I've been training w personal trainer in a gym. I liked it but it it will take me almost half a day to get back my energy again. After Pilates I'm even more energized and feeling great! I guess it's because you're breathing and working on every muscle w slow motions. The facility is beautiful, clean ,organized, not crowded. I moved it to the top so you don't need to scroll to get the message. Irina sees how you perform and she provides targeted feedback to perform better. She adopts my sessions to pace with my ability so I was never discouraged and always felt...maybe naively...I was making great progress. She recognized my ability to concentrate on any given morning and varied the exercises accordingly. And...most importantly for the reasons I looked to Pilates originally...she produced results. After the first six months with the first studio, I was about to quit. After six months with Irina, I discovered I needed to buy size 10 jeans and skirts instead of the familiar 12's. FULL REVIEW.... I used to think sushi was nasty and disinterest best characterized my attitude. Later...there is always a later in these kinda stories...I joined a dear friend at a really nice sushi place. I suspended my contempt if only because the occasion was entirely not mine. Yes...it was amazing! It was then I wasn't contemptuous of sushi...only bad sushi. Good sushi is amazing and great sushi is intoxicating. Totally learned my lesson....Puh-leeze! After this epiphany, I considered investing time, effort, and care in my physical health....er...appearance. I decided I would adopt a routine that would 1) produce positive improvements in my health (visible) and B) support the desire to integrate this practice as part of my normal life-style. For whatever reason, and whatever influences my friends might have offered, I opted to explore Pilates. So how did I select my first Pilates instructor? Of course!!! I picked the place closest to my house. Sheesh! It was six months before I confessed Pilates was not what I hoped. It didn't seem to provide the physical impact I imagined and I didn't seem to be developing the connection I thought necessary to sustain the practice. Fortunately for me, a dear friend...different one...mocked me for my disappointment with this new 'bad' sushi and insisted I visit Irina before I abandoned Pilates all together. Wow! The equipment is the same...the terms are the same...and the experience was entirely different. The only other thing different was the presence of gifted instructor who doesn't merely understand how to perform Pilates but also understands the various motives and barriers each of us has to learning that skill. Irina bridges the gap between the desire and ability to perform. What distinguishes Irina from the average instructor is her ability to measure the sessions with my ability...my ability in general and also my ability for the day. No matter my mood or energy, I would experience the same fatigue and exhilaration of the targeted work out I completed that morning. On more than one day, I was embarrassed at the Coffee Bean counter and realized my butt was quivering still quivering. The fatigue is not exhaustion...it is the product of utilizing muscles so long neglected. It is not endurance from exhaustion but a challenge for precision. And...honestly...it is absurd to imagine that quality exists in the studio closest to your home. That quality exists in a few instructors. Irina sees how you perform and she provides targeted feedback to perform better. And I'm not suggesting Irina will magically transform your appearance. I AM suggesting that if you are considering Pilates as a possible exercise or if you are considering stopping your current Pilates routine...you should also seriously consider who is helping you achieve the goals you originally imagined. I've been working with every week since 2008 after nearly quitting altogether. Like my dear friend did for me...I ask you please consider visiting Irina before you form any final opinion. I've known Irina for very long time but it took me a while to start doing Pilates with her. Irina is very knowledgeable, and makes every workout pretty challenging. I started doing it once a week at first , then two times a week, and now it's three times a week. Now days there are as many Pilate studios as there are nail salons... How do you know which one to choose.... I have met Irina at the gym in West Hollywood many years ago, after taking a few classes I knew that she will be in my life for a long time. Irina is professional, very knowledgable and having back ground in gymnastics and acrobatics she was methodically working on getting me stronger. She worked on my core at first, always asked me to come 15 early to do cardio. Always pointed out that safety is first and therefore getting all the big mussels ready was the key. I worked w her before and during pregnancy. Felt great and it helped my recovery after giving birth. Irina cares, she really works w your body and while being gentle, she is very strict and tough. Irina is the answer! If you want real progress, look no further. I've been doing Pilates with Irina for a while now and I've never felt better with my body. My mom started taking classes with her first and I saw her amazing transformation so I decided to try too. Irina is definitely not those sweet-gentle-like-your-best-friend type of instructor. She is STRICT! But that only means she takes your safety and development VERY seriously. I sometimes see other students' sessions with their Pilates instructors in other gyms and studios and I could tell they are not doing the right form but sadly those instructors don't say anything to correct them. In Irina's session, she will never allow me to do movement in wrong forms. I have had personal trainers before and to my surprise, Pilates classes with Irina are much more effective in toning my body and losing fat than lifting weights with those trainers. I was asked by my good friend to join him in a private session with Irina! OMG, what an amazing workout. I've never done private sessions before, only group classes. And I know it's more costly but the workout is so much better than doing a group class because you get one on one training. And technique and Care is sooo important. I had tried Pilates a few years ago and didn't think it was for me. Then I met Irina. In the last year she has helped me become stronger, leaner and have more energy. I'm a figure skater and prone to all sorts of muscle strains and injuries, so Irina tailors my sessions to strengthen my weakest areas and makes sure not to overdevelop the others. I had some chronic skating-induced knee pain that was gone after about a month of Pilates, and my core (in which I thought I might not actually have any muscles) has completely changed. Recently I had my muscle density tested and the tester said "whatever it is you are doing, keep doing it," since I had a much higher percentage of muscle than average for my age - I owe that to Irina. She's tough, and she doesn't let you get away with putting in minimal effort, but that is why she's successful. The sessions are never boring and she varies the routines so you get to learn something new all the time. I always have fun chatting with Irina and I go home feeling great. read more

She's truly wonderful :) She is super professional, extremely knowledgable, and caters to each client differently & accordingly. I'm not big on working out & hate going to the gym, but I always look forward to Pilates. Her studio is extremely well maintained, clean, and she has all the best machines. Don't get me wrong - she's tough! She'll push you to perform your best and watches you with a close eye to make sure you're doing all the exercises correctly.
